We just purchased a DM7C and rio racks - I'm quite concerned at the screen lag though after seeing this - Yamaha, is this something that will be improved over time? We have behringer desks that are much more fluid than this, and they cost a fraction of the price.
1:32 and 1:36 excuse me WHAT WAS THAT DELAY?! Waiting 1 second to change layer is totally unacceptable on device with this pricepoint! Especially when other UI elements seems to be ok in terms of delay (not perfect... still could be faster, but there's noticeable difference!)
I noticed that, too. My 10-year-old M32R, at 1/10th the price, changes fader layers essentially instantly. A console of this echelon should do so, as well. I would hope Yamaha's working on a firmware update to enhance performance in this area.
I dont know if DM7 and DM7c have the same DSP inside. But if so, it would be fantastic to be able to buy more input channels for the DM7c as an software extension package.
One thing that I had hoped they implemented from the Rivage series is the ability to have some inserts as pre eq/dynamic & some to be post per channel. Maybe in a future update.
I have the dm3 which also suffers from a laggy screen. Using an ipad over network is however very responsive. Stop saving money on things which are really important Yamaha! (External power supply too...pfff)
Unbelieveäble delay between pushing a button and getting a result. I guess it is a fantastic console... but I always think, it´s broken, because of this delay
They need to solve this lag problem asap in a new firmware Actually is a great console concept and have an excellent array of functionality in a compact form, with a good price point etc... But, unfortunately ,it's a terrible performer in a live situation with this big lag problem. A big same
Apperently this dude has no problem whatsoever with the ridiculous amount of time the screens take to respond. But why would he, Yamaha is paying the bills ;-) Come on, this is completely useless in a live environment. Waiting for a layer change for more than a second???
