Hey everyone, This is my first video on the channel so I hope you enjoy it, Havn't really figured out what to put in these descriptions yet but when I do I'll let you know
Hey everyone, Thanks too all of you that have been watching and enjoying, I've finally managed to beat the game i'm working on so I'll be editing away now, hopefully won't take to long, I'll let you know when its out here!!
Nightmare 3 on DMD still haunts my dreams. Seriously, if you google the sentence "the camera is actively working against you", you'd probably find the Nightmare 3 DMD fight on the very top
As a dmc fan myself, i'm surprised you did got all the trophies on this game. And if you decide to go for the next games like dmc 3 to 5 and the DmC reboot soon, then it will be a pleasure to follow your channel.
Glad you liked it my guy, Planning on doing the whole DMC series and other challenging games I never got around to finishing when I was younger xD current video in the making isn't DMC but I'll be doing DM2 next and then probably DMC 3 straight after since I don't have high hopes for 2 after what I've heard over the years, still looking forward to playing it though will be an experience
@@WeirdTroll666 yeah, I've done dmc 2 and 3, I just got intermediated about doing a video on it because I fucking loved dmc3 so much and every video I got half way through felt like it sucked So I've gave up on doing the video for now until I figure out how to do it 🙃
According to the speedrunners, Griffon 3 is bugged on PC and his "weak spot that takes more damage" doesn't have its hitbox. So all you can do is wail on his not-weak spots
The reason Griffon takes less damage on his 3rd fight when falling is because of a bug in the HD Collection. His chest is supposed to open to reveal his weak-point, where he would take extra damage there while the rest of his body becomes tankier so that you get better at the game. Which of course doesn't work in the HD Collection where Griffon's chest never opens when he falls into the ground.
Huge fan of devil may cry so I’m loving this. If you go onto dmc2 and the rest of the series, best of luck! And congrats on your first vid(?) blowing up! Can’t wait to see more!
Thanks my guy, I'm glad this video has reached so many fans of the series, and yeah going to be continuing through the whole series really looking forward to it :3
Dude. I’ve been a fan of videos like this and DMC from start to finish per se, and I’ve never seen such a quick and to the point video with potential for later installments that progress in quality and the channel as a whole. Refreshing to see people still making good videos from start.
A year late here so I'm sure you've heard it all before, but as a huge dmc1 fan, I wanted to say congrats and I hope you enjoyed it, despite the frustrations that come along with 100% DMD lol Only things I wanted to note were: • I believe with Griffon 3, the HD versions, from PS3/XB360 to Ps4 etc, all have a bug where Griffon's chest doesn't open to allow for big damage, which is supposed to occur when you knock him down on his side • on that topic, I'm almost certain Griffon takes more damage to Ifrit than Alastor, I would recommend using Ifrit for gunning him down in fights 2 and 3, using charged grenade shells or fireballs • easy strat for Mundus 1 (the shooter section) on DMD is to just stockpile the Devil Stars you earn/find across Hard and DMD modes, then to just unload them all to basically skip phase 1 entirely • for Mundus 2, I've always had an easier time making or finding openings to either run up and slash him between hits, or to charge up a fireball to throw at him (I believe DT + hold back + shoot?) This is also generally the fight I save my Untouchables and Vital Star for, for sure lol That's about all I could think of for the moment lol Congrats again, great job!!
I did really enjoy it though the frustration at the time, and I appreciate the tips, the ifrit damage on griffin is a huge spot I didn't know about, as annoying as mundus can be, griffin is the boss I least enjoyed xD
@WashedUpRyan honestly I totally get it, Griffon 2 and even 3 are easily my least favorite fights, especially on higher difficulties Griffon's biggest saving grace for me is that the first fight can be skipped entirely on repeat playthroughs lol
as a man that platinumed all the games i love watching others share my experience, definitely sticking around if youre planning on doing the rest of the games.
damn congratz on getting all the achievements, personally i did all of them except the enemy files one cause at the end i was too bored and wanted to start dmc 3
Thanks bro, I'm using Adobe Premier pro mostly and some of the others like after effects for little bits, lot to learn still on all the programs like xD
haha same I've really took to it recently, was getting annoyed not finishing tasks I set myself so aiming for 100% has really helped me in finishing other projects in life as well xD
Thank you! really appreciate the feedback, yeah I wasn't amazing happy with the audio, going to try and improve it best I can, do you have any tips? Using a blue yeti atm so that might be my downfall in terms of tech xD
if you decide to go through the rest of the games i'd love to see you take on vergil 3 on dmd mode in dmc3. it's the fattest skill check of the entire game.
@@maxmonkegamer5057 Good luck on DMC 3 my guy, i've never played it but i'm looking forward to it when I get to it, I'm glad it looked easy in the video if I wasn't conscious of the video length i'd love to show you all the failed attempts, DMD was brutal even on the replay, I think you'll defiantly get there with DMC 3 though :)
What do you mean "wouldnt even try Ifrit" Ifrit is your friend in all the Vergil fights. Staying on his ass while spamming the attck button lets you manipulate Vergil's block mechanic and once get him to block a perfectly timed and charged ifrit attack will break his block letting you get in free damage with regular attacks to build devil trigger or devil trigger kick13 and inferno, oh and if you need to get Vergil out of the air hit him with either a grenade cancel in dt or hit him with a meteor attck in dt to keep him from spamming his ki ball and summon sword bs also he cannot parry ifrits normal attacks. Grenade roll cancelling and Ifrit inferno spam basically carried me through all of dante must die along with some (alot of) farmed holy waters, devil stars and untouchables. Perfectly timed and placed charged meteor attacks also butcher Vergil and Griffin
Sorry, in the video I meant it as when I first got the weapon I just didn't like it for how I was play the game at the time, then when I started struggling on bosses on DMC every strat was like 'use ifrit its the best' and it was, so then I had to learn to play with it, but at first I didn't so thats what I was trying to get at xD
@@WashedUpRyan Ah, ok mybad. You know Alastor, Devil Sword Sparda/Force Edge are just as good and require almost gigachad level of timing where ive seen small time youtubers as they can catch Vergil in an endless loop of slash cancels and he cant move out of it with the exceptions of teleportation to try and gain ground or shoot his summon swords. It was almost laughable as they made the Ifrit block breaking strat for Vergil dmd look like a simple game a child came up with, some madman even did it with shotgun only and had no health upgrades.
@@felixortiz257 haha the skill of some people on this game will always amaze me, just out here making the game even harder to prove they can beat it, hats off the stotgun guy honestly. Ive seen the slice cancelling with other swords on a speedrun when they didn't have ifrit unlocked I actually tried it to limited sucess, I just couldn't chain it very well very viable though from what I saw
@@WashedUpRyan yeah its crazy how some people just pick up this game for the first time, see an enemy walking strangley and they instantly just know how to exploit them from there and the game doesnt even tell them, hell there is alot of hidden things that the original devil may cry hid at the time it came out. So i was watching this channel Waifuruns and as the video went on Waifu showed this rare japanese copy of devil may cry1 that showed exploits, frame timings, enemy health and damage, alot of actual hepfull stuff besides the useless shit you read on enemies in the menu options, like nightmare having a secret core breaking gemick. It had it all and not many people could not translate it because it was in japanese, he even went on the show a few other speed runners using perfectly timed frame expliots to dt+granede cancel griffin efectivelly two shotting him in his second battle or nightmare jump cancelling off of Vergil's head, that might,ve been another video but still. Heck there is even a early version of dt distortion through frame timings the Waifuruns showed and a timing exploit that makes dante fire his guns 20x faster then he usually would.
13:02 thats not luck thats the games oneshot protection doing its job essentially if youre above a certain threshold of health in dmc1 and then take what would normally be fatal damage hideki kamiya smiles upon you and gives you 1 extra health so you can survive what would normally be a cheap death
Great vid! My only criticism, is this: I feel like when you laid out the battle plan in the beginning, it sounded like you would at least show each location of items/secret missions. It threw me off how you went from "here's blue orb frag one," to then telling us about you needing to reset achievements, then you go to frag 4. It felt a little jarring. Otherwise, I loved it!
Thank you for the feedback, that makes a lot of sense, in future if I'm going to do a big length 100% I'll be sure to not make it seem like I'm doing one thing then do another :)
Honestly i was never a fan of how the bestiary required you to see their attacks on specific difficulties, on top of _random_ chance. That can cause so many problems on dmd and hard mode
I had technically, I showed a lot of footage from when I first did it to compensate aswell as talked about it like it was my first run through, I just wanted footage of the achievements popping so I went to do it again, doing it that way helped to talk about boss mechanics that I didn't pick up on the first run through as well :)
I'm working on my footage for the next video atm, like 40 hours deep, if i keep getting slapped probably another 40 then I'll be doing DMC 2, not heard amazing things about it but looking forward to getting the W on it :)
You'll get there, like I said in the video took me pure time to get him down, once you get the counter timing down on the spike and boomerang he becomes a lot more manageable, congrats on having only the game to beat for your last trophy! No need to do any clean up thankfully xD
@@WashedUpRyan thanks! Yeah I had to get my last 2 intels on this run (funnily enough also sin scythe and also the critical hit, but I also had the umbrella attack to do too) but aside from that I was done with collectibles and upgrades by the time I finished playthrough 1. I just need to get passed nightmare 3 and I’ll be golden
I know right, I'm just checking in on comments to reply to people and now there quite a few and a lot more views than like 24 hours ago, madness, Hope you enjoyed it as well :)
Not gonna lie when I was doing this I did wanna try and get as many S ranks as possible, I could probably do it as a little side project, you want me to do it new game or new game + xD
Speaking of Dante Getting stabbed in the series I made a top 5 list of Dante's Stabbings throughout the series ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lQNhxKoyRbI.html
Those are rockey archivements. Play with Retroachievements, there you will know true pain. And no, is not with the PC version, you will have to play with the PS2 version in emulator.
