It is also funny he didn’t show his potential like in this fight while they are fighting Mundus and always ask for Donte’s help.

Its odd but coincidental as technically DmC parallels DMC3 since both are prequels stories.

I really wish to see a DMC Reboot secuel too. This still have potential despite the issues.

Remove the controversial word, it's an opinion , end of the story, there's so no * controversial * context here, just delusional kids who expected the cool dmc we all know, DmC might be worse than the original but i still liked it a lot... oh and funny enough, it's the only dmc so far that let us fight mundus... something i was expecting in dmc5

@@juggliuk_3195 You fight Mundus in DMC 1, and apparently he dies after the encounter. I say controversial more as a joke, I've always felt that this game was overhated, flawed? Definitely, most definitely, but the amount of people who were disproportionately angry at this game still astounds me

@@sirdogith3783 fk, you got me there... i even made a post 2 years ago where i listed all the wishes for the new dmc game lol, one of them was defeating mundus ( only now i remembered thanks to you, that Dante killed him in dmc1.) In any case there was another, which was, show us a cutscene, or even have the possibility to play as vergil to see how exactly he got corrupted, while in the end nothing was mentioned, not even who the mother of nero was ( yes she appears in dmc4's vergil campaign, but that was it), 0 details, that made me disappointed.

Actually if you see it without taking DMC, DmC has a good start to have sequels, just……well…people wanted DMC 5. And for me i have some thoughts on this game, I have the "theory" that this DT was something like a "Unfinished DT", like Nero on DMC 4, on the sequel they will explore and learn more of the Nephilim race and discover why they were that powerfull and dangerous, there enters some story of the legend of "Full DT" or "Complete DT" with full demonic appearance and all the DT stuff, then Dante will try to unlock it out and well Vergil on his side getting more power and reaching out the "Full DT" or "Complete DT" later to conquer the human world like Mundus. Since is a Spin off we can take a lot of ideas that on the main series Will not be…"possible", for example, Vergil being a full villain than a rival wanting to be like Mundus, that Dante is the one who have a son and not Vergil, in this case with Kat, that Eva "resurrects" since on the Vergil Downfall DLC has an appearance as a……ghost or memory…I never understood that actually but yeah, stuff like that. Even with the power of the Yamato on both universes and make a great crossover and then split again to make like "parallel universes" than a Spin off. I had a lot of faith to this game actually, if this came out like…on this year or next, I mean, releases after DMC 5, people wouldn't be that mad, just watch whats happenig with DMC Pinnacle of Combat, a mobile spin-off wich has a great expectation on the community.

I’ve read people saying that if DmC tried to be it’s own thing instead of carrying the Devil May Cry name , it would have been much more successful and well-received. Maybe not as huge as the originals, but definitely a cult classic or hidden gem; it just suffered from the expectations set by the original franchise.

Yeah I like that it really shows in their moves as well. Dante throws his strength around (he even trips on himself in some), and his other weapons aren’t as crazy flashy as Original Dante’s. Hell then we got Vergil who can only pop his Devil Trigger for a final third of the fight (potentially cause it tires him out?).

Honestly with better writing a dmC2 could be legendary, its ashame we dont know when that'll happen if ever

Honestly...Change the story a bit and you could see it as the first time Dante and Vergil ever fought...But you would have to the change the story drastically (Which is GOOD)

Why can't they just continue these and refer to this as alternate universe and not a reboot. An alternate universe game would be fresh to the videogame genre.

So true, if it was under any other name, it would be an awesome story about how 2 brothers fell out. Obviously needs a lot of polishing but definitely shows potentials

@@IsTheOrderASapling Playing through every game except this one, I'm in the mindset that this game looks genuinely enjoyable and the gameplay is solid, but that's not the only thing that sells a game for me and this is just disappointing and cheap for DMC. And I've played DMC2!

My cousins gave me this game. I did not knew that this was a reboot and was my first DMC franchise game. I still haven't gotten to play the original franchise but seen game plays of 5.

It's a good game, fun as hell most of the time... but it's an Eh DMC. It also had some issues of... well, they were basically gonna drop Nero if they continued this... most of the issues that couldn't be ignored came from he inevitable comparisons. It was different enough to be its own thing.

If it was not a devil may cry game, it probably would have some appreciation.

Empty is the best Vergil boss fight. Bury The Light is the best Dante boss fight.

Actually I like that too. Vergil did have good intentions. He wasn't gonna be another Mundus. But at the same time, Dante didn't want to take that chance.

I’m right here with you mate. The reboot was the first dmc I played to completion and even after going back is still my 2nd favorite in the series after 5

Because Itsuno took some of the reboot moves and out them into DMC4 Vergil, which then evolve into DMC5 Vergil.

dmc does not have a good history with the number 2 but with a DmC 2 that would be fixed probably (unless it turns out like Vergil’s downfall did, my god that shit was awful)

Its really depends on the person. I found it To be very convenient. Sometimes it rubs the wrong way after playing DMC4, and sometimes it fells better than the OG.

I absolutely love DmC's weapon switching, the smoothest ever.

The characters weren’t great in this but overall sound, gameplay and level design were done well and this didn’t deserve such low scores. I love the original DMC and I’m not huge fan of this DmC but this was a great game and I believe people should give it a try because of what it does so good

Capcom’s mistake was naming this as Devil May Cry and rebooting the series at a time when it didn’t need it. Ninja Theory didn’t make things better either by shitting on the OG series and fans. This would have done better under an original title with the characters not being related to Devil May Cry.

If they had changed the names of the game and characters it wouldn't get nearly as much hate.

It’s not a bad game but it’s a bad DMC by a long shot. SSS is crazy easy to achieve, the anti-fun color coded enemies, DT just basically being crowd control. Not a bad game at all, but not as good action wise compared to its processors or even the game right after it.

Nah, In DMC3 they mentioned that it was the second time Dante and Vergil see each other since they where kids, and that they fought one year prior that. And meanwhile that could be DmC, the DMC3 manga already showed all of that, so yeah, DmC wouldn't make sense (obviously there's a lot more stuff that don't fit at all)

Oh and the dlc descriptions for the various virgil unlocks just say playable in the campaign, bloody palace and the void, wth lol. So annoying. They even say that these things are sold individually in the dlc bundle and no refund if you buy the individual unlock/early version thinking you have to because it says you have to have access. Trying to nickel and dime us then double dip lol. So greedy.
