I’m 67 and I cannot get enough of Dimitri. One in a billion voice plus his stage presence.his charisma his looks and acting . He had it all I have to add he had a kind of innocence that appeals to The fairer sex.
Thank you for sharing this! I never would've thought I'd get my first taste of Porgy and Bess with Dmitri Hvorostovsky. He does a great job with the English, especially since it has the mispronunciation and poor grammar written into it. Beautiful performance!

A baritone with some "bite" in the voice--Dmitri!!!(English remains so difficult for non-native-speakers to produce in song. We fare so much better than they in foreign tongues...Bless him.) I, too, would like to see the unedited version of this pairing.
To see a recording of this whole concert would be brilliant. It’s beautiful singing from both singers, though the “camerawoman” focuses on Dmitri. Contrary to what so many of his fans say in comments on his rare performances in English (eg how clear, how well-pronounced….) his sung English is more or less incomprehensible. I guess the letter S in Russian is usually soft, which might explain the lisp, but his fuzziness in English always surprises me, because his spoken English was crystal clear - but the voice is everything, both their voices, and I so wish he had ranged further in his repertoire than the ubiquitous Russian romances, Verdi arias (and Krutoy).
Agree... His repertuar Is wide from sacral songs , barogue, etc. American musicals would suit HIM better than Krutoy...If he had to expand to somewhere unknown . He was a rock star at The begining!
I hate whoever made this video, their singular focus on Dimitry at the expense of Hendricks is fandom at its worse. Its like the person couldnt stand to listen to a single moment that Dimitri wasn't singing. Some of us like the MUSIC, not just the personalities. How horrid.
