And I honestly thought the Jazz suite could not possibly be topped...Shostakovich is continually rising up to being one of my(most unexpected)favourite composers...wow I am shocked! I saw this live earlier this week. I was in a world of complete and utter joy, basically laughing during the concert!!
Such a delightful suite, brimming with colour and vitality! Love "Spin", the amphetamine-driven "Galop" and "Ballet". The whole thing leaves you smiling, faintly reminiscent of the type of music composed by members of Les Six....
