Esinam Dedoo You must not truly be from this area if you don’t know half the slang smh. Real DMVians are already hip to more than half if not all the words on this list.

I'm from Texas my homeboy from DC but I remember a lot of the slang he used to talk. He called cigarettes Jacks, he called going off on somebody Kirking . He called them old heads Unks. He said when something was really amazing that it was Flat oh like them shoes is Flat! He used to address me like What up Moe! He used to call stuff Jawn but to my understanding that's Philly slang. I hadn't talked to him in a long time
Growing up I feel like ppl only claimed the V for va cuz DMV sounds better then DM💀 most of the slang in the video is straight dc fr and kinda MD but they be hoping on to trends n shit in PG 💀😂
Omg 😂 So I’m from Florida and we say Guh but it’s a totally different meaning. We’ll use it like say a dude be like “Oh im not like them other niggas” I’ll be like “Guuuh, whatever.” 😂
I'm from Maryland, when I first moved up to TN everyone said I had a northern accent over time I lost it. Everyone makes jokes on the way I talk I don't bring up vowles often, I wanted to get my accent back and turns out I still had it a little 🤣🤣
Just caught this joint and I'm lls only cuz I'm old school DMV from the 70s, 80s and 90s and hearing these words takes me back to when some of them originated and I see how they evolved. Love it!
I was born in PG county in ‘88 so we didn’t use moe or slim growing up. That’s more of younger people thing. We would call somebody “Young” mostly and definitely used “bama” and “sicin”. Also “pressed” is something we use a lot (although) I’m starting to hear non-DMV people say pressed.
Im from Brooklyn most my boys from D.C. NY niggas dont claim "moe". Jih like prolly my fav shit I use from yall. And 'Go Smack' i use that like everyday lmao when my dc niggas came to ny for the first time im like "so what yall tryna see?"...niggas said "take us to the trenches". Thass why I love the dmv..
Yeah, you can tell you from out Murrland LLS. We don't use "bamma"? That's a D.M.V staple. You tf missing it. Wtf is "JaZzInG"? Aye y'all mezzy need to stay in y'all Lane 💯
Moved from Silver Spring to St louis back in 2015 and 5 years later I still got niggas on my ass about using DMV slang 🤦♀️💀 I miss my niggas back in Mo. County
Left out: legs(females), up top/down bottom(like north or south on a long road), yeah(a fill in word that could mean whatever you need it to..ex: I'm goin to da yeah then gon go scoop lil legs down bottom), politic'n, bidding, clappas, boofin, jack(cigarette), wrecking(fighting), and young
I don't know how you came up in my feed but when I saw "DMV" I thought "wait, we need slang for when we go to get our licenses renewed???" xxxxxxxxxxxxDDDDDDDDDD
That Moe Shit really from Chicago check the history... That shit really gang slang Some Black P Stones(Moors) from Chicago was running through Maryland back ina days and to address each other mfs say Moe.. All Well Moe.. 20 on em Moe... Waddam Moe it's gang language like Gds and shit say Folks in Chicago we talk country so instead of calling each other Moor mfs say Moe...The gang didn't stay permanently but that Moe word stayed and that's how yall got it today 💯Just RU-vid Moes in Chicago
when someone says whats up, son. you know they are from the DMV. the only slang I remember using is TV, which means cable, but as I got older people seem to think I didn't have an actual TV XD
Are you insane or 15 years old? New York created "Son" along with "Kid." Hell, Mobb Deep said it to start one of their best songs way back in the 90's!
@@TopBillinSports Honestly it doesn't really matter where it came from, everyone back in the 90s and early 2000s was using "son" all across the east coast and its more of an east coast word nowadays. plus I'm not 15 son, I wish.
@@superwin9000 - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rTKpYJ80OVQ.html It does matter, or we wouldn't be on a video with someone claiming origins of words
@@TopBillinSports nahson not trying to get hacked again, plus were talking slang lol talk about origins of words, English comes from UK therefore all words of Origin is from UK
@@superwin9000 - Hacked? It's a fuckin Mobb deep video, you goofball. You're going to get hacked by someone with 100,000 subscribers and a damn verified channel? Lmmfao. You're a weirdo, man. You even brought up damn England, just like a square. Lolololol "hacked."
I knew she wasn't from DC. She tried. It's cool, nothing but love. But don't do this again. You got 2 outta the rest slim. DC slang ain't MO Cty, PG, nor VA. It ain't sweet. Keep building, with the trenches out of it. She don't kick it SE nor NE. 1 love ❤️
@jalil3579 man shut your dumbass up most of these slangs been around in pg county longer then your Lil ass was thought of in your mommas punani. I bet you were born in 96 or 2000 lmao Stfu
One of the funniest ones is “yea” , “you tryna yea?” “Bruh lets go hit da yea” , “bruh im bouta go get some yea “ “bruh she finna yea!” It can literally mean anything and only dmv niggas will know what they mean lol its oc wildddd
The thing about this is, this chick is probably 19 years old at the max. If something migrated to the DMV, which "son" did from New York, within her lifetime, she's going to think the DMV created it. "Joaning" is definitely a southern term and Son is undoubtedly New York. Cranking is a play on "Crunk" and even used in the same fashion, but clearly started in Atlanta...All you really have to do is have a knowledge of music. Son was on rappers from New York's CDs in the early 90's probably a decade before this girl was even born.
mixeddjessiee Because they from the same place you are lol & ya delusional we don’t claim nothing from ya. The dmv is irrelevant af ya talk weird, listen to pot & pan music & cant dress. Sis stay in ya corner
Top5Bullet xo nyc lit af and u should know that! u don’t gotta put down others 🤷🏾♀️ dmv is where it’s at too. at the end of the day, everybody finna be proud of where they from periodt
WHATTTTTT MOE...SHE GOT ME GUH...HOW SHE MISSED ..."ON MOVAS"...."loofin"......."boofin".... "geeking"... "wholetime" HOW SHE MISS "LIKE SHIT" THATS THE MOST USED WORDS LIKE SHIT....or "Kirking"- like what I'm doing right now
I always would use Stickman meaning a friend. I usually use that word for someone that I dont know the name of. Or when I forget someone's name. Ex. Isn't Stickman/stickperson staying the night tonight?
