@XXYungLordXX, I can't believe this song will forever remind me of a legend during my lifetime. This is how it's going down means more to me today than ever before. RIP DMX...
The little details of realness In that ghetto love, plastic couch, grandma's table coasters, the boxing shorts, the socks on in the bed , real intimate shit
It’s crazy I was just listening to this song on Apple Music and a week later he passes. This was my favorite dmx song. I grew up off his music. Rest in heaven
There is not 1 spirit resting in Heaven but best believe their Souls are definitely @peace .....People read the word for yourselves lack of knowledge we lose..Earl/DMX 🏆...I want all of us to win
Everything about this song and video is perfect. The Story DMX told. The vocals Faith Evans laid (she put her soul into 5 words "All I want is you"), the cinematography, especially the slow motion, the cameos, even the movie promo billboard. This was an epic time in music and probably my favorite video of all time.
If you’re not from NYC, Yonkers, white plains, you won’t know what that last scene with the fire hydrants means to a kid growing up in the city during the summer time. Dang this song takes me back. Now I made it in life, got out the hood became an attorney, got married, had kids then became a stay at home mom, saw the world with my family and these memories seem like a life time away. Love to all the real ones! ❤
I was born 88 and was only a child when this dropped. I was blessed with older brothers who understood the value of hip hop. When i hear this song and other songs from the era it brings sadness. It makes me miss the moments I've had the good and bad. Along with the sadness, a smile because i know how far I've come. Cant go backwards so i go forward with the love and memories something i will never forget.
I had just beaten cancer and was 22 living a block off south st in philly...this song was being played nonstop by every car passing that street corner...summer of 1998....hope u make it!!
I have the best memories too! My brother who was in high school drove me to middle school and this was a cd we kept in rotation daily. He died in 2006 of a congenital heart problem 😭 but this will always take me to a place of good memories ❤️
Summer of 1998, I'm from Jersey but I went to the Greek picnic at Fairmount Park that year and X had it on smash. Every car that drove by seemed to be bangin Ruff Ryders Anthem. People were on top of cars, it was females everywhere, of course there was some gunshots and it was just crazy. Tracy Lee performed The Theme at the park and after that X's music was just bangin everywhere.RIP to the dog!
I cant lie. If you are over 30, it saddens me that we don't have music like this anymore, makes me sad. We had the best music ever, and nothing can ever change this.
I don't know if it's the best music. Its that rap/hip hop was tryin to make a name for itself because rap was looked down upon as no good music.Rap was tryin to find its identity to belong in music period because there was rock, country, reggae,r and b,heavy metal, house music, instrumental orchestra, band, and pop.countrRap didn't deserve to be in a category. Now it's in a category of its own genre.Rap hip hop is the most popular music in the u.s.Others countries are immulating it with thier language. But rap was born here in the U.S. in inner city neighborhoods in New York,Los Angeles,Chicago, and Houston.Look it up on you tube popular music rap blows everything out the water because there is alot of money in the hip hop entertainment. It found its identity and it won.I like rap but other look at me crazy because they like old rock, country music, heavy metal them dudes are cool cuz they like rap too.But those country music and old rock don't respect hip hop.To each and there own taste of music, but I think all other music is garbage Rap I can relate cuz I grew up in a tough inner city in a major city and I could relate cuz they went through the same shit I went through. ✌.
It’s 2023 and X is still at the top of my playlist. He’s my “go to” EVERY TIME I go through shit!! R.I.P‼️ Your music still lives on with me‼️🤞🏾🥰 Thank you for such great music🥰
I’m so tired of the “rip” ....each rip seem to be worse than the last..I was 13 when this song came out, 37 now. My childhood is literally dying off😢♥️♥️gonna miss this man😢
RIP uncle earl , you will truly be missed . Miss all those times we had man, miss getting into that arguement outside TLA, miss seeing you argue with my father about the dumbest things . Miss leaving that show in essington and you letting the whole parking lot out for free and no one that worked for the lot cared because you were dmx. Pops tells me all the shit you guys use to do , and how he misses the times he had with you when you guys were broke living in the projects in YO. I wish i had more time on earth with you big dAwg. Happy you taught me all the things you taught me. Remember when you gave me that pickle and i was like hell nawww 😂 i would say i wish the world knew you like i did , but you literally spoke through your music. Love you unc, Ball In Peace ❤️🖤🕊
My condolences Mekhei♥️♥️. Your uncle was all around REAL! The life he had growing up is similar to a lot of Black men. I know he has touched a lot of Black men by sharing his story. He also made an impact on people and the world.
Sorry for ur loss I love x felt like a uncle to me to my uncle loved him he thought he was Dmx at one point I stil can’t believe it man this hurt my soul . x my dude to authentic even we he prayed .
@@rachelle6058 it really amazes me how many people love him. Ive known always , but to see the love he has now, its truly amazing. He was truly an inspiring and great individual. 🙏
Its summer 2023 and this song it just totally absolutely NOSTALGIA at its finest. Man i wish i could go back to when everybody didnt have a phone in their hand and love was young and innocent. Man i drop a tear for the 90s 😢 Luv you dearly...RiP DmX
Never thought I’d see the day where I’d be shedding tears watching the how’s it goin down video. X passing away just hits different. This one hurts a lot. 🥲🥲
Can’t believe this man is gone 😔!! I grew up wanting to meet him ; I cried bad when he left us 89 baby 💙but I know his spirit will live forever! Love u Dmx ur forver a legend to me 💙🙏🏾💫🕊️
@@aqueenofheart6632 praying for you. I've been struggling with it forever, I fight it everyday, been clean since my son was born in 2015. He is my motivation, I'm all that he has, I live for taking care of myself and him now. People touch us in different ways everyday and can change us. May God bless you and your son. I put my mama through a lot of pain with my addiction, and I am thankful that she got to see me clean before she passed, she died in a car accident 2 years ago, and I got full custody of my son 4 days later. That was a sign from God, I miss her everyday.
Im telling you. Its that hood ratchet shit that ruined black girls today. Black girls used to look and act so feminin, I blame Nicki Minaj for all of this shit.
It was summer of 1998: I was 14 years old just about to enter high school in Norfolk, Virginia. I was full of angst and nervousness that whole summer about the transition to being a Freshman. Like many teenagers back then, we had TRL and BET on the TV every afternoon to catch the latest music videos while our parents were gone all day at work. When this video hit rotation I immediately became a fan of DMX. I remember wishing I was as cool as DMX, cruising around Brooklyn in an S-Class Benz, wearing Tims & looking fresh, hitting on the fine hunnies, and spitting that fire. RIP, DMX, and thanks for the memories.
robert lewis they was both equally big didn't jay z drop hardknock life and sold 5 mill off it. Wasn't that his most commercial hit. This was around 98 when dmx dropped 2 albums and jay dropped hardknock life
IN MY WORLD... "" HE STILL IS & ALWAYS WILL BE!!!! I DEFINATELY CAN'T STAND " CAMEL-FACE ". JAYZ...Uggg. > PERIODT>. I SIMPLY LOVE & ADORE MY " SPIRITUAL-SON < DMX. "" YAH'S " BLESSINGS. N. FAVOR ON HIM & HIS SEED, ALWAYS. N FOREVER!!!
Jay-Z only got bigger then x because he sold his soul he also destroyed x's career by doing that fuck shit he did pushing Dmx albums back when he was president at Def jam
@@aGwEENapple If I didn't know any better I'd say "How's It Goin Down" and Method Man's "Make Up To Break Up" could have prequels for DMX and Method Man's characters in "Belly".
Same. He was definitely sexy with his new style of gangster music, this song and “What they really want” were my favourite songs that he did for us ladies. ❤️🥰 R.I.P. Earl, you made high school a blast 🙃
Yup!! My favorite when he came up and still. I love this video and song! It's a song for the ladies to love guys to sing. love his voice in this one. The outfits was so my Era #Miami97'
I was about 10 y.o. When this dropped. My neighbor, who was about 30 y.o. had just purchased a Ford Mustang and we rode that puppy from Louisiana to Houston, Tx bumping this album. 💿 talk about the good old days.
You guys really have to stop with this “millennials” stuff. I’m a millennial and I’m 37, I grew up in the 90’s. I remember it vividly and miss it everyday lol. You mean to say “Gen Z”. They are the young kids in their teens and 20’s who weren’t actually around back then. Us millennials were literally raised in the 90’s. Lol
