if you had 2 identical lights and wanted BOTH to do the SAME thing, could you also assign the same address to the 2nd light? would it act like master/slave for that dmx address?

I ‘m a beginner to the DMX universe I am trying to get one fixture to record to the Elation 192….the fixture is the ADJ Dekker Led…I picked this one up because it’s all I need for wedding receptions I do because it does a lot for small events but I planned to add more fixtures later on but as of now I just want to use the Dekker Led for some small scenes. I don’t understand the instructions and there is no detailed video about it anywhere except what it looks like when in us ThanksDJDOUG

Functions are different from the address code right? I'm looking at this light and I'm guessing it has two functions, sound active and auto mode. I'm so confused. I want to buy some lights and connect them all together. I'm new to this so I have no idea how to do it. All I know so far is that you connect a dmx cable to one light and then another to the other lights. The main one is called master and the others slave. I saw someone do this but without a controller. I'm guessing the controller controlls the lights so they can each have different functions if you'd like. I see the 10 address buttons in the back of it. (1)sound active: address code 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/10 closed, address code 9 open. (2)auto mode: address code 9/10 closed. Address code 8-1 to control the auto speed from fast to slow. Note: Connect the light properly to a power supply.

With DMX you are generally controlling things like RGB values, pan/tilt, etc... For example if you had a fixture that had an RGB lamp, pan/tilt functions, and an iris, this would use 6 channels. 1: Red, 2: Blue, 3: Green, 4: Pan, 5: Tilt, 6: Iris. Maybe you want to use two of these fixtures, so the first one would be address 1, and the second would be address 7. If you are buying lights, and just want them to be in sound active, or auto mode, chances are you're not going to be programing shows manually, so you don't really have to worry about DMX, just give the fixtures power, and they will handle the rest.
