I have been watching your videos for some time. The nest has grown substantially! My fear is that the location of the nest in that tree will cause a failure at some point as it's basically out on a limb (no pun intended) instead of near the trunk of the tree. Most nests are built very close to, if not actually around the trunk for supporting the weight of the nest as it grows. When it's windy, you can see it moving quite a bit. With the location of the nest out that far and the growing weight of it and the eaglets plus prey and adults, then also rain is asking an awful lot of even a very large limb. These are just my observations and I haven't seen any distance shots of the nest and where it actually is in the tree. So i may be very off on my thinking. I hope the nest stays safe and sound for many years to come. Ha! Just as I'm writing this there is a distance shot of the nest and to me, it just seems very perilous! Maybe when they aren't nesting some steel rod supports could be installed? Just a thought. I know it's nature and there is always the possibility of death, but if it could be prevented in some way, I just feel it would be better than a sad story of the eaglets dying in a collapse of the nest. They DO collapse sometimes and very often it's a sad story! Your videos are wonderful with good clear shots and detailed images. Thank you for the time put in on this nest and for sharing it with all of us. ♥️
@heloisahodierna7699 yes both DN17 and DN18 survived and parents have continued to care for and feed them. They are eating on a tree limb they forage in the field together ❤️ 😅
