breakbeat is what breakbeat is , not what you think it should be . todays rap doesnt sound like it did in the 90's , yet its still rap . all genres of music are influenced by their largest contributions , and breakbeat has undeniably been changed forever . what you would call " real breakbeat " today sounds nothing like breakbeat from the early 2000's , yet its still breakbeat . music is larger and more complex than any box you can put it in , and if it wants to be breakbeat and if the artists call it breakbeat and if the people who enjoy it call it breakbeat , then its breakbeat . stop gatekeeping a genre thats been around for twice as long as youve been alive .

But some Jungle music went viral and people slapped a Breakcore label on it, now a lot of people think it's breakcore. Look up "breakcore gives me wood" (if you want to hear what breakcore is), which was the biggest Breakcore event organizer in Benelux, when breakcore scene was at its peak in 2000's
