You should've used 2k clear instead of 2x coverage clear. The 2k holds up much better to uv rays and doesn't fade out anywhere near as fast as the 2x coverage.

I have a Seibon hood, and I was complaining to myself that it is looking dull and faded already , but then I realized i've had it for 3 years now( In Snow and hot summers) , so i can't really complain. Time flies.

Before we you get to the point where you're re-surfacing your hood, PLEASE, PLEASE... PLEASE, for the love of one of your most expensive possessions (your car), do not be that lowest bidder and go cheap. I love my Mustang, but my biggest regret was spending only a grand on a "Super Snake" style hood for my 5.0, from a cheaper brand, instead of going with a more reputable brand, like Anderson Composites. From a distance, it looks great, but up close, there are dimples, the fibers are starting to splinter (after 3 years), the epoxy is milking a lot, and with how must splintering there is now, I don't think there's much hope for it, so please learn from my mistake! DO NOT cheap out when it comes to your car!

Buddy, all those little circles and lighter spots the hood showed before you painted it, is because of your fingers. You can’t sand clear coat or paint without a block or it’ll show where your fingers pressed like on this one. You don’t need a hard block, but a squeegee that’ll bend and follow the lines is what the paper needs to be wrapped around. You seem knowledgeable but not enough to know all the basics.
@Nick4b11

My only criticism of this video is these were more like very basic steps. Steps I could read but you didn't take advantage of the video format on how you sanded the hood. Kinda just skipped to each step without really explaining much about the process.
@colemason2422
@colemason2422 2 года назад
Well he really doesn’t know lol. He knows more than most but sanding without a block is why his hood has all those lines in it. You can see it before he clears it, and it shows in the clear also in the right light. Never sand with your hand.

Dude. You're using the cheapest sprinkhead clear ever in the world does manage from autozone or anybody else auto reports, you should be using AK2 clear. You're ripping off your customers on top of that. Who does that cheap stuff is? All the last for nape, you know, 1 year or 2 years max. You should be ashamed of yourself for you doing that. Use the big more stuff. My eyes were off. Use some autozone, Collier. You should be ashamed of yourself To get clear full last for a while, 6 or 8 years. You're using a clear from autozone or any all reports says I go last a year or 2. That's if they're lucky. You prepped the right

@soku racing once you sand down with a 2000 grit, the orange peel and imperfections should clear out. You can wax it after that. If you reclear it again after sanding, you will have imperfections again. The sanding levels everything out and makes it looks smooth. So sand it, wax it and it should be done

You missed the first issue, he’s sanding a hood with his hand. Fingers show up in paint, there should always be a block even if it’s a thin pliable one. You can see before it’s cleared where his fingers pressed harder, the circles all around the hood. And it shows in the clear in the right light. That’s 101 of painting, he knows more than most of these guys, but he still don’t know much.
