@PleaseSignOut

lindsey true to an extent. My mom had cancer and uncle had cancer and when my mom saw my uncle during remission for the first time, they broke down in tears and had an intense conversation. However, my mother has never been to a cancer march. She doesn’t have any friends that have survived cancer. I believe she doesn’t identify with other survivors because she has reached different conclusions. I’m sure if she met another survivor they would be very supportive. But I doubt she would agree with this “unspoken bond” when I don’t think she’s ever experienced that.

I agree with the woman who talked about how nasty chemo is. It's NOT the cancer for me that was horrific it was the CHEMO. Chemo made me a mummified shell of a person..the neuropathy felt like a blow torch thru my veins...and chemo not cancer robbed me of my favorite things.. But I've fully recovered from chemo.. except for chemo brain and have so much gratitude for the return of good health. Better health than before my diagnosis..
@EMMYISNOOB
@EMMYISNOOB 4 года назад
I understand where you are coming from, but I will always be deepfully grateful for chemo. My liver probably doesn't agree, but cancer is deadly. It is only to be expected that a treatment this harsch was necessary. A nasty treatment for an even nastier disease.

An extremly touching episode, and one where everybody seems extremly likable and I would like to hear everybodies story. I am often affraid of having cancer as it's such an asshole of illness that can come at any age, everywhere in the body. You can cancer from anything, even cancertreatment. I am so glad, that somethings like public (restaurants, offices) Smoking is illegal now(My greatgradfather never smoked, his Boss did, he got cancer.)
@oceanstaiga5928
@oceanstaiga5928 4 года назад
loewenmakrele really cancer is many kinds in one. It can hit you anytime and anyone but you can’t live your life afraid of it because of that. If you’re taking good care of your body you certainly have a lesser chance of many cancers. And if you’d ever get it nowadays there are many good treatment options too. Childhood leukaemia survivor here, been 4 years for me and now I’m in college so yay don’t worry too much I’d say 😉

@katharsis7957

you can do quite a lot to prevent it tho; to anyone interested i can really strongly recommend the book HOW NOT TO DIE by Dr Greger, it literally changed my life. It looks at how different types of foods influence different types of diseases from prevention, to causation, treatment. For cancer specifically, broccoli and turmeric are extremely beneficial while all meats and dairy products should be avoided since they cause the body to produce the growth hormone IGF1 which causes growth where its not wanted- like in tumors. Also, I'm in no way saying that its anyone's own fault if they get sick, sometimes that's really nothing you can control. But we can oftentimes influence our diseases for better or for worse. I just hope everyone here appreciates their bodies and takes good care of them.

As a fellow cancer survivor, I clicked on this video as soon as I saw it. No one will ever have the same experience as you but, it's so helpful to talk to or just listen to other cancer survivors. When I first met other childhood cancer survivors, hearing their cancer stories and finding others to relate to; helped me accept the negatives associated with cancer and then let go of those feelings and thoughts. I love Jubilee's content and I always wanted them to make this video because there are so many connections with their other content. Especially when there is grief involved.

yes as a child of divorce that knows a not a lot of other kids that have parents that aren’t together is really weird for me and it’s hard to understand how family dynamics are supposed to work. my parents divorced when i was 3 i don’t remember a time of them being together. so seeing all my life mainly only kids that have parents that are together it’s an extremely strange feeling and i don’t know what life is like for people like me or if my experiences are any similar. everyone in my family has gotten divorced. i don’t know what love or family is. and i’ve never know and idk if i will.

I really try to get them to talk about themselves, because they were people BEFORE cancer and will be after, whatever that may be. Of course i ask, how are you feeling, but I also ask how their weekend was, their vacation, how are the kids, grandkids, etc. I think that having a positive attitude is half the battle. I'm a childhood cancer survivor, and it's not a fear of my cancer coming back that gets me, it's a fear of being in hospitals and feeling that level of helplessness, and being so sick you don't even mind how helpless you are. How everything smells like hospital and after a while you realize you smell like hospital. Every time I step foot in one my legs go numb and I get nauseous and if my cancer comes back and I know I'm going to spend the rest of my life (remission with my particular type of cancer is almost always fatal) in a hospital I can't think of a single worse fate. That's what I'm scared of. Not the cancer itself.

well our diet is probably one of the main causes, i read they think between 70 to 90% of all cancers comes from diet and lifestyle choices. Ive looked into it a little bit and cancer is very rare in remote places around the world all other diseases to such as Alzheimers. There's even a place on an italian coast where out of the 2000 people that live there 300 of them are over 100 yrs old with very little health issues. So its obvious to me we have the power to protect ourselves to a degree. Very few Doctors no anything about Diet though and its effect on disease, its not something that is taught much to them.

sayianbone oh honey, where did you read that from? Please please please stop spreading false information. The main cause of cancer is genetic, and the second cause is susceptibility (meaning highly dense breast tissue has a higher chance of breast cancer, etc..) lifestyle and diet does affect but if highly depends on how your body reacts to it. I was diagnosed in November 2008 with Stage IV Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I was told there was only a 5% chance it would never come back. I went through five months of chemotherapy (and survived horrible side effects that left me almost dead). Less than two years later, my cancer came back. I went through a new treatment at that time called radioimmunotherapy. So far, my cancer has not returned. However, from that first day in November 2008 when I was told I had cancer (and when I found out I was Stage IV on my birthday of all days!), my life has NEVER been the same. Even though it has been more than a decade since my treatments, it is all still so vividly clear to me. I had this video on my "watch later" list for the longest time because I knew it would be very hard for me to watch. I answered the questions for myself and how I felt/feel during my journey. It was very emotional, but I'm glad I watched it and, reading some of the comments, I agree with so many people - cancer survivors are a unique group that no one will ever understand unless they have been in our shoes. It makes me feel less lonely knowing that I am not alone and that, unfortunately, other people have been through this agony as well.

Literally one of the best episodes! Everyone had some type of positive outlook for themselves and for each other! Everyone shared darker moments but pushed themselves to be stronger! Thank you to everyone who came on this episode! You're all great and amazing people!!!

I just saw this video. Thank you. As a cancer survivor, I don't have many people to talk to who have been through a similar experience. All cancer survivors go through different experiences, but watching this re-enforced no matter how different our experiences are, we go through similar struggles and emotions.
