I think for me, cornelia street and the archer hit really well infact archer is in my top 5 from taylor, but that’s just my personal opinion. And i agree me and yntcd are kidzbop sounding but talk about london boy, i think he knows and paper rings. They’re good fun songs! so Lover isn’t my fav album but it’s definitely up there. @@Perksofbeingmiles
I hate how gen z hates on millenials as if we weren’t hated on by gen x and boomers and thats why some millenials are gatekeepy in the first place. Gen z gets away with so much and I think it annoys some people. And then on top of that Yall don’t even actually hate millenials, because all of the cringe and everything yall reference is really just gen x or boomers trying to market things to millennials. All of your negative perceptions are misplaced
Are they even swifties if they like Calvin? And to assume that Taylor liked that Twitter feud when he put her down for the public to see its just crazy.
i personally think taylor choses her worst songs on each album as singles (they're good for radio and they're catchy, so its a smart business move) but i love every other song on the albums more than the singles every single time @@Kammy-nh8vl
I mean debut is debatable cz it's so strongly country that it can't be everyone's taste. I personally don't really love country songs but I do admire she wrote all of that so young Teardrops on my guitar is the only one I love on that altho I know almost all
@@ze_randomizersame omgg I love our song, picture to burn, teardrops on my guitar etc from the debut. And then from lover I love: all the girls you’ve had before, cruel summer, lover etc
I'm also a fan, but honestly, I think it's so weird that people talk about her boyfriends like we are all in this relationship with her. I get that we follow the news and listen to her talk about it in the songs but it's HER relationship and most of it is private (even the public ones). We can make our theories and stuff, but I think we shouldn't say "he betrayed us" because we are not affected by it at all.
a lot of swifties have a parasocial relationship with her and they like call her boyfriends "dad" which is super weird. they get attached to her boyfriends as if it it their own relationship and they kind of feel like they need to "save" taylor from her bad boyfriends, which is just very weird
The red haired girl talking about Taylor needing to step out of her comfort zone and find a new producer, but let’s not forget how important it is for women in the music industry to work with people they feel comfortable and safe around. Taylor might feel extremely safe working with Jack and doesn’t want to risk working with a producer (like Dr. Luke) who could harm her, her reputation, her career, or her music.
no one's saying she should work with someone like dr luke. it's just that when taylor works with someone new like aaron dessner, she steps out of her comfort zone and does things she wouldn't do if she was always surrounded by yes men
@@jessicalee989 taylor is like the biggest artist right now and has so much experience so obviously she knows who to go for. producers who have worked with her friends or something
I think they’re the worst tbh. They act like any option that’s different than theirs is bullshit, in a very messed up way. The facial expressions are not it
@@big.reputation12 She’s not ‘wrong’ lmao she just has her own opinion? Which is also still not an excuse for that duo to make faces that are giving bitchy pick me vibes
Without lover there would not be folkmore, she started writing stories inspired by movies and stuffs, also musically it’s gorgeous, so many bangers and great melodies.
without covid there wouldn’t be folkmore, was covid a good thing? no. i mean lover is my least favorite album but there are a lot of songs i love on it. the criticism is valid and saying “it can’t be bad because it resulted in making one of her best albums!” doesn’t really work.
@@caterpillarking Thats not what I said, there’s people saying that lover is not a good album when in fact it is! It has some of her best songs ever written in music/lyrics and many catchy tunes to just have a good time. The fact that we also have all of the girls and need (unreleased) being so iconic it’s also proof. One may not like me! But that doesn’t mean it’s not good and catchy I remember there was a collective applause when she released the lover song. So it may not be one’s favorite but saying lover is not a good album is just wrong.
Lover is quite the polarizing album, because imo it has some songs that would be in the top 20 of her career (Cruel Summer, MAATHP, Daylight, The Archer, etc) while also having some of the worst songs in her career (ME!, Yntcd, london boy) and so she sits as a weird middle child. If it was a 12 track album it would have the potential to be her best.
@@optimistic.pessimist Yes and also when I heard all of the girls and need (unreleased) so good, but people reads to those songs too much and forget that melodies is also composition and the catchy tune in me! Or London boy, YNTCD doesn’t make them bad, they’re there for a good time, her interpretation is care free and funny which is the point of the songs! Haha
Red was right about the production not being as well. There’s a lot of songs on there that sound the same and are forgettable. With that in mind dress and delicate are in my top 10.
The redhead is braver than me lmao. I share most of her opinions, and I feel like she expressed herself very gracefully and respectfully even though she knew her opinions would be controversial. If that were me I probably would not have said anything but I am so glad she did.
I agree with her too although Reputation is still a top album in my eyes because production has never been as important to me as things like content and lyrics. But I don't think it's an awful take to say that T Swift has never been pushing the envelope sonically, most pop artists are working with sounds and chord progressions that are well established in order to have maximum success and sell records. Taylor has always pushed the envelope in terms of her self expression and what people expect of her, but not necessarily what is possible in music in general which is okay. For something to be cutting edge it has to be somewhat alternative or underground by definition since the mainstream is always going to be dominated by sounds, styles, and looks that already "work," so to speak. But that's not to say that she isn't talented and gifted and groundbreaking in many ways, just that she's not reinventing the wheel which very few people are, if any. But she does what she does very well and executes the things she does to a very high standard, which is something equal in value to being cutting edge in my eyes!
yeah, esp with the whole rep thing, rep is one of my favourites, but its not taylor's best art. folklore and 1989 set the standard for peak quality/art, for me at least.
1.Not them saying they like calcium hydroxide. He’s like one of the worst exes 2. The blonde in denim saying Taylor should step out of her comfort zone is so dead wrong. Taylor didn’t switch from country to pop to alternative just for her to say that
she meant comfort zone of pop producers. taylor has gotten very comfortable with jack and you can see that on midnights, it's a veryy jack antonoff album. when she works with someone new like aaron, she pushes her boundaries, which is ultimately great for her as she is a very creative person and anyone who helps bring out the creativity in her should be brought on board
taylor's been working with jack since 1989.10 years has passed. it was needed at the time but now she needs other producers. you can see how having someone other than jack (aaron dasner) influenced folklore&evermore to be a different thing. then we had midnights with jack which was a generic pop record and it sounded nothing new. it was such a step-back as an album after the masterpiece that was folklore&evermore. also the midnightsification of 1989 vault tracks with jack was sad...
Am i the only one who loves every album, just in different situations/moods? I think every album is great and has its strengths in its own way. In summer and on sunny days I love to listen to Lover, if I want to feel nostalgic about my time in the South and my youth I listen to her country songs, if I’m sad or on cold days I prefer evermore and folklore, if I want to feel badass I put on reputation and so on. Like they all kind of hit the mark for me 🥺💗
No.For example when i'm angry or very happy,i listen to Rep .when i need some calming songs i listen to speak now, folklore, midnights, maybe debut ,1989 underrated songs. idk it's just mood dependant .I generally dislike the overly sad songs from any artist in general .I don't like ttpd or folklore overly sad songs like LOML,epiphany you know that kind. But for me taylor swift is a 200 out of 10 artist in any genre.
I agree that sometimes you need to take a moment to let an album of her simmer, or soak in to you. I remember the very first time i heard reputation, and i didn't like it, because it's different and it feels like it's not her. But now reputation is my most favorite of all of her albums. Lover is a great album! It saddened me everytime i hear people hate on it. If you ask what's her worst album, I'll say none. Because for me all of her albums are great. I don't dare rank all of them, but I have my favorites.
Yeah like I didn’t like speak now and I didn’t even know like any of the songs but now it’s my favorite and yeah I love lover probably because that’s the first album I listened to when it first cane out
This was me with 1989, because I have been a fan since debut so the huge change was a lot to take in. I feel like so much was lost in the over-repetitive lyrics. It took me a while to appreciate it more.
I didn’t like folklore and evermore on first listen. Or even second listen. But not I play them both all the time. It took me a bit to come around to it.
REAL. For someone to neglect an album like that is so heartbreaking. She released the album when she was SIXTEEN. Most teens her age could never have the ability to write and release songs like Taylor did for debut. And for those who say that because she has grown, her more recent work is better, well think about it in the sense that Debut was just released. That was a masterpiece for someone in the late 00's or early 10's to listen to that (Especially if u love country music like I do).
No bc everything she said in the second half made me want to scream “She needs to get out of her comfort zone” “She’s trying too many things” “She needs to use new producers” And the Jack hate like how 🥲 Taylor just can’t win 😭
Ima brand new Swiftie. Midnights lured me in a few months ago, last month I listened to 1989 and grew more intrigued, reputation slapped, and Lover absolutely solidified me as a forever fan. I still haven't listened to her early work, but I LIVE for Lover. I can't stand the Lover slander Edit: im fully aware this reply section is probably dead, but for purposes of chronicling my taylor swift journey, here's my personal album ranking 2 months later! (i will be keeping explanations short) 10. Debut: no, i dont hate her! she's simply my least favorite 9. Lover: yeah... opinions change i guess? she's still the king of my heart, but i need more MEAT to really bite into, yknow? 8. Red: she's um... she's... yeah... 7. 1989: please dont kill me. she just needs to be saucier, if that makes sense 6. Fearless: honestly, slay 5. Reputation: she's angry, she serves, and honestly, you cant hate her 4. Speak Now: When i say she doesnt miss, I MEAN IT. She literally cannot fail 3. Midnights: sorry, but the dreamy vibes still just do it for me 2. Folklore: screaming, crying, throwing up, all at the same time if you're following along, this means that there's only one girlie left, and she is... 1. EVERMORE: she simply does folklore, but better. i feel like im there when i listen to evermore, and she simply cannot be beat
I love Midnights! 💜 Thank goodness I sat down and listened to it after the break up because it made so much sense. I love Reputation, she disappeared because of all that drama, but came back taking no shit. I love Folklore.❤️ Actually I started listening to Taylor when 1989 came out. Then I listened to Red. Lover really grew on me! Her lyrics are genius. To understand her metaphors I to have concentrate, I can’t be doing anything else the first few times. 🎶
This is literally my exact same experience. When Taylor released Midnights and she got really popular on social media, I started listening to Midnights and then Lover over and over and over again. It is my favorite album and Lover is my favorite song so it painnnns me that anyone could dislike it
I don’t like country but Red is a pretty good album and Speak Now and Fearless has some bops. I would recommend listening to folklore as well if you haven’t already.
I SWEAR ON THIS PLANET EARTH. JUSTICE FOR LOVER. Y'ALL DID NOT JUST SAY THAT IF DEBUT IS OUT THAT LOVER IS THE WORST. I LOVE LOVER SO MUCH. IT IS THE BEST ALBUM
Fr it’s not THAT bad, death by a thousand cuts and ms americana and the heartbreak prince are so good, but cruel summer isn’t that good sorry to burst your bubbles
@@grielauryn My least favorite is her debut album. I would not necessarily say that it's the worst because that was her very beginning and not everyone does amazingly when they just start but that's my least favorite.
I love reputation. I did something bad, look what you made me do, gateway car, and don’t blame me, where all so good! I actually didn’t like delicate and thought it sounded like it should be on a different album. I love new years day but it also feels like it should be on a different album, vibe wise.
@@dinglesworldi blame the fans who are nuts they turn a lot away from her music for a lot of people including me befor I liked her it’s another K-pop situation
exactly! being a fan just means you enjoy taylor's music and you appreciate her. doesn't necessarily mean you have her entire discography memorized or knows everything about her love life
They dont know what Karlie did to Taylor which is confusing as hell but I don't care what they call themselves. "THe one with Ed Shereen on Reputation". End Game is a deep cut.
even when i don't agree i automatically respect swifties who can be critical of taylor in a respectful way. Blindly following isn't always the flex you think it is
the reputation dislike from the ginger and blond guy in the back was the BIGGEST hot take from this entire video. i’m convinced they haven’t really dissected and ruminated with the album. production-wise screams 2016-17, not 2012. it very much has the sound many artists were utilizing during this time period. songs like dwoht and end game are very reminiscent of that era. i think it was a beautifully made album and very cohesive. it was a love album, most instrumentals were similar, and new year’s day was a great closer. all in all reputation is one her best, if not her best piece of work other than 1989.
Most of them werent even swifties by then, I enjoyed sooo much Look what you made me do when It just came in! A girl full of revenge is just what I needed
it’s ok to not like an album, you shouldn’t have to “ruminate” with an album to make yourself like it just because it’s by your favorite artist😭 also certain albums are just not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s ok, people shouldn’t be attacked if they prefer taylor’s country music or folkmore over her pop albums
I have never truly disliked a Taylor song as a swiftie. I have least favorites ofc, but I still sing to them and I also skip songs when I'm just not feeling them, it doesn't mean I don't like them.
I am an older Swiftie. I became a Swiftie when I was 32, when Tear Drops was released. I am now, almost 50. I see Taylor and her music a little different than the typical population. It's all about her music to me. I don't pay much attention to who she is dating or what she is wearing. I feel that the putting term, the worst and Taylor Swift in the same sentence should never happen. I feel that the song ME! was written for a young population that is struggling with who they are and is very important to them. Welcome To New York is such an important song to me. 1989 was such an important album for Taylor with her changing to a Pop. WTNY introduced us to that era. My parents grew up with the Beatles. I grew up with Michael Jackson. I never thought that any artist would come close to the both of them. When it's all said and done, Taylor may top the both of them. Don't ever take the greatest singer/song writer of your generation for granted.
I’ve been a fan since Teardrops but have only considered myself a swiftie since eras tour\2023. I loved her music and certain songs were huge favorites but I didn’t know much about her life or even her fandom and relationship with her fans
One thing I would like to add about what tour is the best is that the eras tour is the best simply because of where Taylor is personally. She is mentally and physically at her happiest and healthiest. Watching the 1989 or Reputation tour is hard when you know how bad her health was and how much it took out of her every show. I love seeing all the clips of her just listening to the crowd go wild and her stage presence is unmatched this time.
One thing I dislike about some Swifties is they think Taylor can do no wrong ever. I think it's perfectly okay for people to be fans of Taylor and still have opinions about her.
i can't stand the "omg, everyone hates lover" comments. like, can y'all listen? they made a valid point that if you make a list of albums it's inevitable that something will be at the bottom and for many people it happens to be lover or debut, it doesn't mean these albums are hated, they just least liked ones and that's fine. people are so dramatic over nothing.
@@Hitmaddiehardandsoft thats why it would have been a nice contrast in opinions. I've been a fan since Tim McGraw(my mom was a huge country fan and introduced me to her). Why are you trying to make my comment a bad thing?
I don’t get the hate for ME! I mean it’s not my favorite song but it’s not my least favorite song either. I feel like Swifties are embarrassed to be associated with it because it has a bit of a kid bop vibe. But it’s a fun song idk
It’s funny that they say that about Jack, Midnights was the first almost full album where he participated, previous albums he was in less songs than other producers.
I'm a 31 year old straight man. And I've been a swiftie since Tim McGraw. I grew up listening to country music so when I heard her 1st couple songs i was instantly drawn in. This is how I'd rank them in my opinion: 1. folklore 2. Speak Now 3. Red 4. Fearless 5. Debut 6. evermore 7. Lover 8. Midnights 9. 1989 10. Reputation
After watching this, I really realize how much of a die hard swiftie I am cause I felt like I could debate and argue with everything negative that was said in this video.. 😅
My opinion: 1- Agree! I love every album so I love getting to see all of it! She’s also really happy during this tour! 2- Disagree! I love Travis but Taylor Lautner and Joe Alwyn are just so amazing! 3- Disagree! 3 words, stay stay stay. Also these people hated Me! Too much 4- Disagree! Never heard of her being a witch? 5- Neutral! Never heard of it but looks similar 6- Neutral! I see the signs but idk 7- Disagree! Lover is top 3! How can people think it’s the worst- 8- Agreeish! The girl around 28:25 said it all lol 9-
Literally agree with your Lover opinion. During her Miss Americana documentory, she says that Lover is the emobidment of falling in love with love itself.
I adore my fellow Swifties. Because at the end of the day, we might disagree on many things (songs, boyfriends, producers etc.), but what we will ALWAYS agree on is to show compassion to one another (unless you are a predator, then we will take you down). Because that is what we have come to love and expect from Taylor. So it makes sense her deepest fans exude that as well. I could listen to conversations like this all day.
the hate for Lover is crazy because it's literally one of my favourite TS albums. Cruel Summer, Lover, Cornelia Street, Paper Rings, Afterglow, hello???
I was 10 when her debut album came out. I heard Teardrops on my Guitar on the radio and looked her up when I got home. I BEGGED my parents to buy me the album and I got it for Christmas. I've been in love with her and her music ever since.
"...in 1989" screen: 1990 LMAO. I am a Swiftie and these are my people but Conspiracy Theories go from fun/silly to straight up racist/antisemitic/misogynistic so fast. Let's keep our critical thinking caps on Swifties and everyone!!!
I can totally understand the feeling of being a secret Swiftie. Because, he’s right! You can’t lead with that fact in a new situation, or put it in your dating profile. Even though I’ve been loving her since I was in 8th grade, in 2006…The Swifties take it too far sometimes, and some of them (not these ones, from what I can tell) can make it difficult to openly and proudly identify as a Swiftie to everyone, in all situations. But then again…that could also be partially (or mostly) because many people, like…ones who aren’t fans of TS, judge her to be something she’s not. So, because of that “prejudice”…they also judge the Swifties to be something they’re not.
I think that most swifties aren’t that bad but haters do purposely like to troll and trigger swifties and then say oh look they are crazy- like a narcissistic abuser who is calm and gets you upset just to show everyone you’re the crazy and bad one
about the people saying that she needs other influences, production and people to work with, i think that those things are exactly what maintains her authenticity like whether its country or pop or indie/folk you'll always be able to say "thats so taylor" when you hear a certain lyric or beat or sound despite the fact that her songs sound nothing alike... the fact that she can change genres so many times and still maintain her originality is something that's not appreciated enough
reputation is my favorite album and I would attest that the production of that album was reminiscent of the music landscape at that time in 2017 (hip-hop/huge bass/trap pop). It made sense at the time, but also made sense for the concept of her big, "angry", comeback album.
I've always really really liked taylor and her music, like especially after lover, but i only became a swiftie and active part of the community after midnights becuase of how big she became and i decided maybe i can be louder about my love for her music.
I totally agree! Especially when it comes to speculating about her relationships and sexuality. Like i understand thinking a relationship is cute being excited for someone, but planning their future for them is to much for me. I also don’t think that any music Taylor makes so songs I just like vibing to more than others. I especially don’t understand the “ME!” hate when Taylor talks so strongly about how much fun she had with it. Like if you don’t like a song that’s fine but don’t blast it calling it awful and if someone ask just say “Oh well that’s not really one of my favorites but I really love (insert your favorite). Same with ranking albums.
1. All her tours are amazing and the best. Each one is so different and yet still amazing. Never been to one though I’ve seen videos put together. 2. I have no opinion on her new “bf” because it’s her personal life and i don’t know her personally. I enjoy her music. Stage presence. Etc. I’m not going to make my opinion about him unless he’s this horrible person and am just so horribly upset. I feel sad for her when there is a breakup. But she’ll find the right person some day. 3. There may not be favorites of her songs. But I don’t hate any of them. Sometimes it takes a while for me to warm to a song. Reputation at first was not my favorite. I didn’t like it. But now I do. And at first I didn’t like evermore or folklore. I grew. Tastes change. And i grew to appreciate the songs and the differences and the creativity of them.
I agreed with the red hair about Reputation. I love that era as a whole with the snakes, aesthetic, production and all of that BUT the songs are not my favorites it took me some time to appreciate it
‘06 debut swiftie here- I’m loving the diversity in this video!!! I love new swifties and having someone who loves her because of cats is actually unheard of!?!?! Love it!!
I’m not a new Swiftie but I was to young to go to the tours and unfortunately I wasn’t able to go to the eras tour (I cried) tho I did go to the movie but I do agree that it was amazing to see all of the eras live-ish
everybody hating on the auburn hair girl for saying taylor isnt a trailblazer sonically! which is so true!!! taylor writes outstanding songs&albums but she never has a unique „never heard before“ sound! which is totally fine! but i think it‘s good someone pointed that out!
Reputation is the best production in her career PERIOD. Then if you prefer lyrics, it’s ok go with folklore or evermore, but as a musical piece REPUTATION IS HER BEST
Only became a swiftie when midnights came out so I'm a bit behind but I've been catching up as she has become my favorite artist of all time. I love lover I think it is criminally underrated, it's my favorite. Also love her debut, to me it tells me that she had it from the start. All her albums are good and most are amazing. Most artists can hope to have 1,2 or 3 really good songs. Taylor has 60-70, to me anyways. She's the best of all time. I am grateful to get to listen to her music as I usually would struggle to find anything before discovering her and most times ended up settling for something that was kind of good or at least filled in the silence.
My least favourite is Midnights and 1989 has the most skips😬 Blonde is giving toxic fan the way she won't even consider other opinions. Thank god red and checkered shirt are here for balance.
Taylor is not a trailblazer?? She’s confused. The reviews for 1989 alone noted that she was creating music using almost no contemporary references…that’s trailblazing sweetie. She also reinvents herself into each era, pushing herself and the boundaries of her career.
im sorry I LOVE Taylor but what exactly did 1989 introduced musically? it is a pretty generic pop album. I think Taylor is somehow a trailblazer in a lot of things but yall need to stop acting like she invented the music or smt.
I've been listening Taylor since 2009 and the thing of being a ''Swiftie'' is that like most of the cult like fandoms, you have to be blindly on your idol side but also be actively on their favor. I love her music and I dig the whole ''she used to date this guy that is famous and made a song about him'' that comes with her lyrics often but I'm not following every news, every critic, every little detail about her personal or professional life. It is also great to have people that share the same passion you do and how we all love her for the same and different reasons at the same time but man... I guess I'm not a Swiftie.
