But now I know that to speak like a native speaker is not only know the vocabulary and learn grammar, but to imitate their way of promouncing like a baby learn from their parents.

Hi, Rachel, could you please give me some instructions on how to pronunciate "all, wall and war"?
@rachelsenglish
@rachelsenglish 5 лет назад
Hi! I think you may find my videos on the Dark L useful to work on 'all' and 'wall' (rachelsenglish.com/english-pronounce-l-consonant/) - for all three of these words you want to remember to allow the vowel sound before the Dark L or R sound to have a bit more space. This means that you don't want the tongue to be pulling back for the L or R too early, let the vowel start, then pull the tongue back, this often makes the sounds a bit more clear!

Hi Rachel. I've found your channel today and it is outstanding for a complete understanding and pronunciation of correct american english. A lot of Brazilians think English is easy. Not at all. Perfect and full domain of English is another level. How many times I've been watched brazilians talking english in presentations through yoUtube or another event and they do not concern about the correct pronunciation and emphasis of what they speak. English heard here in Brazil from many people whose think that they know it, but it's really not true. know it all, completely, I think it is possible just living abroad for years or striving on it just like I do. Studying, Listening and speaking. I appreciated the channel, I'll see all videos and of course, I subscribed it.

Hi Rachel! I started watching your videos lately and am learning a lot thanks to your site.I'm originally from the Philippines and migrated here in europe bout 15 years ago. I do know how to write and listen to everything in English because it has been extensively taught as a second language back home...the problem was to speak it without thinking, pronouncing some words right spontaneously and instantly like the native speakers do in the US...my mom is half bristish and I get to go to her place in the UK but I do have a hard time adapting to their accent and english as well. We were taught the American English in the Philippines during my elementary days and I would like to polish what I already have and not adapting too much the UK english which they say is POSH but do have a funny way of speaking. I prefer to learn the American English because they know how to speak and convey their thoughts clearly especially during important meetings, on the news, movies, etc.. Anyways thanks again and I hope to learn more pronunciation at your site.
