Do Arsenal need to sign a striker in order to win the Premier League? 

Arsenal and Mikel Arteta needed a striker from the start of the season. Unfortunately, they were too focused on buying a goal keeper (to compete with Ramsdale). This is on them.

The last time Arsenal signed a dud was Nicolas Pepe???? Compare Pepes stats in his first 2 seasons to Havertz at Arsenal or even chelsea and you'll see who has more G/A in fewer games. Arteta has signed multiple duds: Havertz, Kiwior, Vieira, Jorginho, Cedric, Lokonga, Tavares, Mari, I've Runarsson - I've just listed 170ms worth of dross

None of our usual goal scores are finishing their chances. I was one of those saying we didn’t need a striker in January. But now it feels like we really need someone like Toney

They need proper full backs that can put in a proper cross of a ball in the opposition box...

Problem with other PL teams is that a few bad results and they want to turn everything upside down instead of fixing the few kinks. This is where Pep excels, he never brings in new players mid season, he fixes whats there and fortifies his team's mentality. I hope Arteta doesn't buy into the noise of a striker.

There’s 9 points from 1st to 6th and 5 points from 1st to 4th and people are acting like there teams are dominating the league. Let’s just appreciate this could be one of the most tense seasons we’ve had in a decade. It’s win or lose for any team at this point.

David Raya signing was madness. He hasn't made a match winning save all season. He only saves shots that are directly at him and his positioning on crosses are poor.

The ONLY players arsenal needed was rice whom they got and Aleksandar Mitrović… a decent consistent affordable striker that finishes 95 percent of those crosses they be whipping in but arsenal on the business level this time around was poor …

Ramsdale is clearly a better shot stopper . Raya is shipping in goals every game!!!! I don’t care how good he is with his feet shot stopping is the main function of the goal keeper!!!!

Arsenal real problem lies in midfield , it’s become too unbalanced . The inclusion of havertz in there, has disrupted, what they had last season. If any case , I’d suggest Khéphren Thuram to play along side Rice and Odegaad . However they better hurry because City are eyeing him up

A huge reason why arsenal are not performing as well as they were last season is quite obvious really. What changes to the team were made in the summer??? Rice and havertz for xhaka and Partey. 170 million spent on replacing two players who were instrumental to why we were so successful last season. As much as I am a big fan of Declan rice is he a better passer of the ball than partey was last season. I advise anyone who thinks he is to go online and compare their stats last season of passes made in the opponents half and final third and you will see the point I'm trying to make. Rice is constantly playing the ball sideways or backwards which makes it a lot easier to defend against. As for xhaka and havertz you can clearly see xhaka was miles better than havertz this season.

They need to take their time they mustn't rush on doing things, they need to get like proper striker the killer like Osihmen and get good defenders.

idk if the current squad has the mentality to come from behind and win it. If they do tho, I feel that that would carry them on for future seasons to come.

United fan here. I think Arsenal can win it without a striker. I think Nketiah & Jesus can get 20 between them. Then you've got Saka, Odegaard & Martinelli who can get around 15 each. Havertz can chip in with 10. They have a good defence, and still have guys like Timber & Zinchenko to come back. They have a real chance

They need to humble themselves, crack on and stop crying every 2 minutes things don’t go their way. Even the fans need a healthy portion of humble pie, acting like they’ve actually won something before the season is up it’s ridiculous.

There is no squad depth. A top 3 finish was always on the cards and title was too far. Martinelli and Saka are still the only reliable wide players in the entire squad. And with Martinelli being poor this season, Jesus being a poor goal scorer, so much of the attacking burden has fallen to Saka. He did amazing last year but it's not right to keep expecting him to produce goals and assists every single game while the other attackers don't play their part. This cant be fixed in January. Liverpool have Salah,Jota, Nunez, Diaz, City of course have Haaland, and Alvarez, most of who are much more clinical and Arsenal just don't have that. Things just fall apart in the final third and this has been a long time coming. Don't even get me stared on Nketiah as backup.

They probably won’t be able to sign anyone even on loan given their 200 million outlay. Unless attractive bids received for Ramsdale, Fabio Vieira, Smith Rowe and Kiwior it’ll be extremely unlikely. He may be regretting 65 spent on Havertz, better off paying that for Olise or pool towards an eventual bid for Bowen. Top strikers who maybe available are Toney, Solanke and Joao Pedro all will cost excessive transfer fees.

The thing I don't understand is why would arteta get a keeper on loan and make him your number 1. I just cant see how he's better than ramsdale.

There was an ABUNDANCE of 8's 7's and 10's in the PL alone Arteta should of got instead of £100m on Havertz and Raya. Idc what anyone says all of our players on poor from at the SAME time is all the managers fault. We spent £200m for less points less goals and more goals conceded but god forbid Arsenal fans hold Arteta accountable

I said this in the summer. Their main target should've always been Osimhen. He's genuinely world class and would instantly impact Arsenal tremendously. He also doesn't seem like an impossible target. Toney won't be scoring loads of goals at Arsenal. I don't get this Toney obsession people have. A striker that merely performed well in 1 season at a lower level. While Osimhen has been doing it consistently since he was playing in France and appeared in the CL.

Talk about need this one need that one, why don't we talk about what is the form of play and attack of Arsenal, what they are relying on to break down defensive lines and to score goals in a consistent manner. Gabriel Jesus im gonna tell you, brilliant player, he is able to do a lot of stuff in small pocket of spaces and brings a lot to the team in final third areas. If your team are able to find a form of play and create those chances consistently, even Darwin Nunez or Antony can score you goals, from point blank ranges. Arsenal are only relying on individual brilliances to make happen of their chances that's the reason they're struggling to win lately when there are teams who are capable to organise a defence effectively. Give them Toney give them Benzema it doesn't change any bit of that.

The role of a false 9 is to create for wide forwards, allowing them to become the strikers finishing off chances. The role of a number 9 is to finish off chances created by the wingers. People are wrong if they think that a false 9 is worse than a number 9 just because they score less goals. Alternatively, people tends to overrate number 9 just because they scores lots of goals. Haaland is one of the best finisher. But he offers literally nothing else in possession. Because of him, his team would create less and lower quality chances. So his team would score less in total.

At best, whoever is signed this year to be the new "9" is not going to win the league for arsenal this year. It will take months for them to gel with the team. Any signing in January should be looked at as improving chances of success next year.

If Arsenal are tight on FFP why not go for players like Thiago Almada / Alberto Moleiro to add much needed Creativity in midfield to play alongside Odegaard. Both Young, Available and would only cost around £20 Million each. Time to cut ties with the likes of Nketiah, Smith Rowe & Nelson imo. Go back to last season Tactics with both fullbacks overlapping allowing Saka & Martinelli to be where they are most dangerous and effective, in the box close to Jesus. Get a Striker in the Summer if it means we get our No.1 Target, Jesus Trossard, Martinelli until then. Pedro Neto would be another player Arsenal should consider as much needed competition for both Martinelli & Saka to keep them both on their toes.

Aston villa, West Ham, Fulham. Clubs that also made significant signings at coaching levels and playing personnel. So it's not so much a team making bad recruitment, it's more of other teams having ambition as well. Make peace with the fact that it is no longer a farmer's league of 6 teams only.
