Do bees thrive in an Anel Hive

Insulation is all fine and good but only if bees will thrive inside their plastic home. This is part one of a three or four part series that compares colony strength of packages started in either a wooden Langstroth hive or an Anel Insulated hive system.

I am a second year beekeeper.. I finished my one year mentorship months ago. I started with a Flow Hve which I purchased prior to taking a class which was a big mistake. I then switched to wooden hives for awhile until I purchased my Anel hive. I currently have 11 Anel hives and 3 wooden.. I live in Florida and it gets very very hot and humid here.. The bees in the wooden boxes are already bearding on hot days...Anel hives no bearding noted.. My Anel hives have a bigger bee population and are producing honey faster than the wooden hives.. I like everything about my Anel hives except the top feeders.. I will continue to expand my apiary with Anel hives only...

Thank you for the comment, especially from Florida which is a so very different climate. This is my first season with Anel and so far, I'm very happy. I agree with the top feeder, not a fan but I use my top feeder from my wooden ware. Do you plan on using Anel honey supers too?

@balanplantz3438 Yes..I have the whole set up....I like that I don't need to paint them.. They are easier for me to lift due to the handles... I like them so much that I want to start selling them...I do not know of any dealers in Florida my area....Sarasota County....PS Don't forget the top cover has a scannable tag inside which you use with the Anel app to keep track of what is going on inside your hive...You just have to scan and voice record...

@balanplantz3438 I think it's a wonderful feature...especially if you have a lot of hives...
