"Furries run the internet." "The internet is always falling apart." Now I'm just thinking about chewbacca maintaining the millennium falcon and how that worked out.
A someone who's looking into careers in the IT industry, this was very inspiring to watch! It's clear that IT is only going to become bigger as technology advances, which means employment and jobs will only increase, and more types of people will be employed. So, I imagine a smaller proportion of furries will end up running the internet, but they're still likely to play an important role, as is everyone! Also Stack Overflow is my best friend, I know nothing about python even though it's my only language so far 😅
Heh. Python's my main language nowadays (despite having a bit of experience with VBasic/VBasic .NET/ASP .NET, and dabbled in Java, Cobol, Shell scripting, and SQL) though as much as I wanted to really like C/C++, it just hates me, though I should learn C# for that Unity stuff. But yeah, Python's really good for a lot of things, maybe even CGI (as in the website kind, though we all know the graphics CGI is well represented in Blender). And YES, StackOverflow's any programmer's best friend, fur or non-fur.
Actually technicians dont reroute data on the spot, most lines have a spare route which will be used as soon as something breaks, the main route will be used as soon as the spare is fixed. I work in telecommunication too Edit: I may or may not be a furry, idk.. fricc
Well.. Knowing that the furry community is a community with a lot of years. It's not surprising that furries growed with the internet and runs with it. And it's so good that a lot of furries have knowledge with programmation. And that we practically run the telecommunications. Talking about the video. Such a good analysis. It informs more reasons to not hate furs
Hey Stormy! Myself and my husband both work for one of the US's biggest ISPs as supervising technicians, and as 2 out of the 4 people who deal with Post Master account. we proudly help keep the interwebs running for lots of other fluffs out there ^__^
reminds me of older goths talking about goths in tech + IT around the 90s and early 2000s for a lot of the same reasons (don't know how much of a thing it still is).
I was geninuinely surprised at when I first learned the fact that the Linux mascot was almost a fox, as a furry Linuxer. Fun thing is that a number of other open-source projects have animal/anthro/furryish mascots, like the blowfish for OpenBSD, OpenSUSE has a chameleon, Wilber from GIMP, plus Konqi and Krita's mascots.
That's the thing a lot of folks don't realize. There are furries in all sorts of professions. IT, software engineering, construction, medicine, law, the military, you name it. You might be working with a furry at your job without even knowing it.
I've been seeing a bunch of Tweets that a lot of furries do work in the IT Department, so in a way, they do run the Internet in some ways. Either way, furries are everywhere on the web, they're on Facebook, on Twitter, on Instagram, on TikTok, they're, legit everywhere. Whether a furry or a normal person, cyberspace is a very mass place. And as always, great video! Much love!
The animation you have there is great like the why you did that. Yeah furties also in part run the satellite systems, after years ago the guy that installed Hughes net for me was a furry, he had his head in the truck with him. Yeah furries are everywhere you look, you just never know where one will pop up. Stormi you stay safe out there with the storms that are heading your way, STAY SAFE in your stormi adventures, STAY WELL in what you do, and STAY FLUFFY all the time. This was some great info you put together, and presented in a fun way, thanks for making this one.
Cat fuzzbut here, worked as a Cyber Security Engineer for one of the world's largest companies and now work in an incident response role for the largest government run energy provider.
8:38 As a HAM radio operator & specialist, heard someone says HAM radio.....that's interesting. Just tune at 143.730Mhz & i'll be there to serve you (if you're at Indonesia). Lidon, 10.23
Yep! I've been in IT since 1997, having built the Internet connectivity for the factory I worked for 18 years (1995-2014), and continuing on at my current employer. Ran the fursuit tracks at Confurence for a few years, then at Califur me and my other half ran the Cabaret for a few as well, all while I worked as IT admin. Furry Is my escape: have gotten to befriend Many other IT Furries, whom have much knowledge of networking far beyond what I could ever do! Am happy to have been able to help in early furry fandom!! You did a Great video here, thank you for bringing back great memories!
Wow, I guess I know why I am a Furry... I am an IT and recently discovered Furry which thank you for your assist in that direction. You are an insfuration Stormi keep up the great work.
That is heaps informative. Like to some normies or non furries, we are just people that like to go places and dress up as animals. But to quote transformers, there is more than meets the eye about us. And it’s how if it weren’t for furries, we wouldn’t watch amazing furry personalities like you Stormi.
Theses are the people who “run” the internet Paul Kane, chief executive officer of CommunityDN in England; Dan Kaminsky, chief scientist at Recursion Ventures in New York City; Jiankang Yao of China; Moussa Guebre of Burkina Faso; Bevil Wooding from Trinidad and Tobago; Ondrej Sury of the Czech Republic, and; Norm Ritchie of Canada.
2:45 yes I do get what you mean, and I appreciate it 😂😂! 7:02 that would make for some shocking news It was Linus tech tips that made me realise about the Linux logo, also chances of someone there being a furry?
I'm surprised there isn't much about Shining Force in the furry community. It's got werewolves, birdmen, centaurs, armadillos in steampunk suits, dragons, some weird squid thing, a talking gerbil...
Internette routers at homes arnt just routers, the router part of just plays a big role for your LAN. Its actually more of a multifunctionalal device. It has a hub which i bealive is what allows it to connect to other devices, and the router is responsible for routing it to the correct devices on the LAN. Theres also a switch.. and im not certain. But I think that basically when data comes in from a device on the LAN and figures out weather that data goes to the internette or to the routed to devices on the LAN, id say an example is casting a youtube video on your tv, it uses the LAN to do this which is why you have to be connected to the same wifi. I think there may be other parts of it to but thats my knowledge. And yes server routers are more powerfull as they route things on a much grander scale? Basicaly routing data on much bugger networks such as the Internet.
@@cldream i used packet tracer. But problem is i never got to finnish that assighnmeant. I got a distinction on my first network assighnmeant. Then i had to play catchup cos of one asdignmeabt on sexurity that we didnt get tought properly. Then had to catch up on other stuff wich git way harder when i had to work from home. So when it came to the 2nd network assignment i never finnished it cos i couldnt get help or anything, as in i didnt really understand what i was supposed to do.
I am the furry almost single-handedly responsible for ensuring that electronic traffic tickets in the state of Illinois make it to the courthouses. I'm sorry, I can't legally expunge your ticket, even though I have the means to. Please take it up with your state legislators and local courts instead. ÚwÙ
my friend Kitthesoulless did I.T work for some time also there is a new furry website it`s a bit like face book and twitter it`s so fun ^w^ the name of it is anthrodex give it a shoot
That's on the hosts and the admins of the site. Funny thing is that I remembered it didn't have HTTPS for a long while (other than login pages anyways) and remained like that even with complaints.
Now you can put it on a webserver and you'd be in business! But for real, JavaScript and Python are among the two big languages when it comes to "modern" web languages as they're almost everywhere (web apps primarily).
Why does everyone think furry are bad or nasty or gross or ya know. I understand it can be weird but jeez if you hate us so bad then don't waste your time telling us negative things. We all have different thoughts, hobbies, etc and you get the point. Just don't waste your time on something that you hate. I hope people can relate or understand my perspective of this argument..
As long as people have preferences, they will be judgemental. Some will take this to the extreme because they like the rush of telling someone off to feel superior (either morally or otherwise). As someone who's in multiple hobbies/interests, there's way too many of that. Console brand -versus-console brand, console-versus-computer-versus-mobile device, software-versus-software, and even watch brand-versus-watch brand.
Contrary to popular believe coding is a team work, but I can easily imagine NOC becoming a furry - it is a kind of boring job until firefighting happens, so you can reach weird parts of internet during those idle hours.
Me realizes that Stormi is doing an internet video Me thinks this is going to be interesting let’s see if my WiFi problems (b.t.w my WiFi is pretty bad) Stormi explains everything about about furry internet Me: Ok time to throw my WiFi router out of my house And replace it with the OwO or I.T. router J.k. I love you Stormi nice vid it really caught my attention since my WiFi it’s not great thx for everything cya soon man! 😁
If I could, I'd customize a DD-WRT or OpenWRT build for maximum OwO and install that onto my router. XD Jokes aside, I am planning on making a home network overhaul eventually.
@@StormiFolf Me, I just want Pi-Hole + NextCloud + home VPN server at the very least. Used to ran a website from home a long time ago and while it was fun, I know I'd be a bad sysadmin, even if it's for personal use or as a "hobby". 😂
