But the truth is, even the entry level job is extremely competitive

That's 100% true! Entry level actuarial work is competitive, but you can get hired by getting all the skills (and related experience!) that employers are looking for. It's hard, but totally doable if you're passionate about it :)

Hey! I wanted to ask that if I wish to get a job in the US and i'm from India so is it necessary to pass the exams from SOA only? or can i get a job in the US if I passed the exams from IAI or IFoA?

Hi there! :) It would be ideal to pass SOA exams if you want to work in the US, but I believe IFoA and IAI have mutual recognition programs with SOA, so your exams passed under one of those programs could count towards the SOA ones. I hope that helps!

Actuaries do use accounting skills, but they're used a little bit differently than accountants would. This article might help you: etchedactuarial.com/actuary-vs-accountant/

Is it true that you need to be fluent in French to be an actuary in Canada?

Nope! You would only need to be fluent in French if you're working in a predominantly French region (like Quebec). Otherwise, English is all you need!
