Tool Secretary at Walmart: “Hey boss, we got this ‘Tool Bear’ guy whose willing to test the new Hart line.” Tool Executive “Oh good we need to push that line. Where does he live?” Secretary: “Las Vegas” Executive: “Send him the trimmer. HAHAHA!”
I bought the HART 40 volt 15'' bump feet a couple weeks ago , to me it has just as much cutting power as the Murray 25cc gas model , lots of power ..Its spring and some weeds are high and it worked perfect .That being said I do have a small yard to trim . I used it twice before the battery was dead , for my needs it's perfect .
If you have a neighbor freaking out because you are doing yard work rather than huddling inside in panic, tell them to pound sand. It’s like Germans ratting on Jews in the 1930’s.
It really pains me to say this because I generally hate Wal-Mart. But I will have to admit. I bought a cheap Hart impact Bit set because I didn't feel like driving the distance to the Home Depot to get the Milwaukee set that I wanted. I used the single T-25 Torx bit in my Milwaukee Drill Driver and that one bit, combined with Deck Plus Decking screws from Lowe's has built an entire deck measuring about 250SF. And the dang bit is still almost new in regards to the teeth. So far I have gone through about 4 of the 5lb boxes of 2.5" and 3" screws and 99% of the rare times I slip out of the screw it is because I am using bad angles. Totally surprised the heck out of me. I just 'might' have to check out some of their other stuff.
Hart today gone tomorrow! I watched tools come and go at Walmart as well as other brands. Hart will be replaced by some other brand in a few years. Remember Popular Mechanics tools with a lifetime warrantee?
Remember "Popular Mechanics" at Walmart? I think I still have a socket set somewhere (or at least pieces of one). You are absolutely right, though. The Hyper Tough line was supposed to be their "forever" tool line. Now it's Hart. In a few years it will be something else. Given how long Husky and Ryobi have been at Home Depot, I trust those two to be stable much more than I trust Hart to be at Walmart in 5 years.
Craig Phillips hart is already selling very well at Walmart. The other tools they sold were complete junk. But these being made by TTI is really gonna help a ton. You can just tell they’re better quality just by looking at them. They’re perfect for the hardcore DIY.
I bought a 40 volt Hart blower about 1 year ago, worked great but lasted a little less than a year. It wasn’t used a lot, was stored in a dry area, should have lasted more than a year.
The Ryobi 40v Brushless still looks more enticing than the Hart trimmer. The Hart tools just look cheap, but a gentleman was nice enough a few months back to let me use his handheld Hart tire inflator with digital gauge and it was nice.
As others have pointed out, this stuff looks like Ryobi rebranded. Which is good. If the attachments are cheaper, then I'll get those. I looked them up and they are identical other than the color. I guess this is to be expected since it's the same company. I feel like TTI is getting like GM from the early years, 8 different brands selling the same stuff.
That String Trimmer would never work here in Louisiana. That little patch of pre-landscaped grass gave it a hard time, judging by the sound. We have thick wide bladed grass here. I use a commercial grade Maruyama gas trimmer and a Echo battery trimmer.
I have the Dewalt 60v flex volt with a 9amp hour battery and that think is no joke preforms and looks just like a gas model best purchase I ever made I plan on getting the string trimmer next and possibly the chainsaw
My normal bad luck. I bought the 40 volt self propelled brushless mower about 2 weeks ago. Have not been able to use. Battery that came with IT (DOA) NOT sealed in plastic just in a box. Put on little charger fast flashing red light. They sent a new battery. I bought a fast charging battery at Walmart (shipped from Hart) battery was on it 14 hours still flashing single red light. New charger received today(the free fast charging) so I have it charging the replacement battery. Flashing red so far (1 hour) Nice looking mower. Would look nicer if it was moving across the lawn, 😂😂😂
I have the 40v ryobi, which I chose over the Milwaukee despite being pretty deep in the m18 ecosystem. It was way lighter and the trigger is way less annoying than the m18. It performs great and I can do my whole 3/4 acre yard on one 4.0 battery. That charger sucks, it takes like 6 hours for a full charge, but the base station charger costs like $100 and by the time you buy the trimmer, an extra battery and the base station charger, you’re at the cost of a nicer echo or stihl...
I also caught wind of the Redemption Garage crying over HF tools. I really think he is totally missing the boat. If your running your business - in this example, Your a landscaper - Your going to use some gas powered super duper trimmer. This is because your going to basically use it 24/7. However, Something from HF is for the DIY and it will get used maybe once a week or whatever. Why should Grand Dad spend 400.00 bucks on top of the line tools when he is just going to use it now and again. It makes no sense. I do not see RG side of the argument. If I payed 20.00 for a grass trimmer and it lasts six months, I got my moneys worth out of it. Not so if your running a business and using it.
Lots of little towns that don’t have a HFT, Home Depot, or Lowe’s. But Walmart on the other hand..... might be a decent option for the weekend warrior who needs to do a little clean up around the yard before the HOA goes all Nazi on them. 👍🏼
The only thing I don’t like about most electric trimmers is the 0.065 line. But this one says it’s 0.080 line which is what my gas one uses. Good vid there how does it edge ? And the Responsiveness of the trigger?
@The Den of Tools. I see someone else noticed that clean toaster oven. So it's not for cooking (too clean). So what is the purpose of the over other than to store your 22 ammo? I'm also glad that the dogs didn't get you and your son. I thought you sent him out to distract the dogs after he slapped that 40V batter into the string trimmer He's a great wing man. Mission accomplished. Hope you and your family (as well as Red's) stay safe and healthy.
They are no cheaper than ryobi. Maybe it makes sense if you don’t have a Home Depot near you but will hart be around in ten years? Will their batteries be available? That’s the problem. Not any better than ryobi for slightly more money and you don’t have the long term assurance they will be supported.
Off topic, I just saw the video from Redemption Garage. Man a lot of misguided anger toward you and HF. I'm not trying to flame things, I just understand why he felt he had to do that rant.
I purchased the leaf vacuum! Battery discharges in no time! Another battery $137.00 at Walmart. I am disappointed with myself for not investigating thoroughly before I purchased. Lesson learned! Vacuum cost me $177... Another battery $137... Really!!!
I wish more companies had the non bay station chargers. Especially, since most of the charge "stations" that most of us have only charge 1 fracken battery anyway.
I would. Just because you don’t know if Walmart will support hart five years from now…when all your batteries will need replace. But ryobi has been using their battery platform for many decades. But on the other hand if you live where there is not a Home Depot nearby and all you have is a big box Walmart then maybe this is better than nothing!
It seems like the weed whacker takes a long time to spool up and it spools down in about twice the time of the Milwaukee. I use the Milwaukee in my landscaping business so I’m very familiar with it.
I am aware of the downsides of Wal-Mart. But atlease they have a physical store. I trust Wal-Mart way more than Amazon. Amazon is more Chinesium than walmart could only dream of.
Disagree. The choice of quality from Amazon is incredible. Its your decision if you want an item Chinese made or USA made, but they have it. I could go into returns but dealing with Amazon is easier than you think.
@@dkupy100 I used to be a seller on Amazon for years and had many private labels. If you stick with major brands you should be ok. Just because it says prime doesn't mean its legit. Amazon is full of counterfeit and Chinese sellers who "hijack" other listings or brand and get the "buy box" because the price is cheaper. And then send their fake product to Amazon to be shipped prime. To play it safe you would want "shipped and sold by Amazon". Amazon is full of fakes and unchecked Chinese stuff. I would be careful on children's items. Anything put in or on body, auto parts or things that plug in or have lithium batteries if it a unknown brand specially. Amazon can't keep up and check on every product and where it came from and don't do much to protect legit sellers from Chinese hijackers and fakes. You could literally make a toy out of lead paint and arsenic with leaking battery acid and ship it into Amazon warehouse to be fullfilled and Amazon wouldn't know until its too late. At least with Wal-Mart there is some sort of check on the product and where it came from. Amazon retail almost runs at a loss till it can be the last retailer left because their web services division is the real cash cow. Not the Amazon.com retail.
I'm not a big fan of walmart as i don't trust they will have this line for more than 5 years, but product seems solid for a diy handyman. does anyone know or have they tried battery compatibility's or a desperate battery mod? Then I would tentatively consider this line of tools
I was going to get that weed trimmer but i went and bought the Ryobi. They both look the same but Ryobi had the 40v 4.0 ah battery which is better than the Hart 2.5 ah battery
I like my Milwaukee better than this. Works perfectly every time I use it. Very reliable. Not sure if these will hold up the same long term. I do like the color scheme though. These a handsome, good looking tools. If their warranty covered me using them at my business, I would have probably bought these ones. I think their warranty only covers (home use) not (commercial use). Could be wrong. The warranty documents can be difficult to understand completely without a lawyer present lol. That's what it appears to say.
I don’t mean to nitpick, but the string trimmer you pictures is not the same one you used. Actually I can’t even find the 40 volt version you used on the website(maybe it’s out of stock) the one you were using probably works with Ryobi xpand-it than Milwaukee(propriety vs universal) I feel like there was too much of an effort to compare to Milwaukee than Ryobi that it is closer matched. I know you were comparing “actual use performance” with something else you’ve used before, but again I think the association to Milwaukee was a bit much. I know I know there’s always going to be someone to tell you what you did wrong or why they don’t like it and I guess I’ll sit on the throne for this one video.
Here's my thoughts: I see no reason to jump on the Hart 40v lineup. There are much more established brands and battery platforms in the same price range. I've got 4 tools (string trimmer, edger, blower, hedge trimmer), 2 batteries, and 2 chargers on the Ego platform. 2 of those tools are factory refurbs. I probably don't have much more than $100 extra total in that equipment than it would cost to get the same setup on 40v Hart. I trust my Ego stuff much more than I would trust the corner cutting Hart stuff. If you cut enough corners off of a square you'll eventually end up with a circle. Here's what I didn't like about what I saw with the Hart stuff: 1) That battery charger is an awful design. I've got my Ego chargers mounted on the wall. They don't require a horizontal surface. With the Hart, you either have to find a shelf or set them on the floor. 2) The air intake on the blower is not protected well at all. The Bauer has the same design and I think it was on this same channel where the user's shirt kept getting sucked up against the air intake. My Ego has a much better protected intake. Very similar screen over the intake but there's a whole other section to keep the intake protected. 2) I realize this is more a matter of where you live and what you had available to cut, but a couple of patches of crabgrass isn't a real test. 12 inch high grass and weeds along a fence line is much more of a "real" test. Even with the test you did, that tool just didn't sound right (for whatever that's worth). I would like to have seen you change the line in the trimmer. That can show a lot. I've had some that can take 30 minutes or more. The Ego is like 5 minutes (most of which is trying to remember where I put the extra line). It's almost ridiculously easy. 3) Other than the name on the tool, these really aren't the same platform as their 20v lineup. There's no shared batteries or chargers. So if someone were to buy a Hart 20v drill and impact driver, there's no cost advantage to buying their 40v trimmer.
