Isn’t crazy how talented even barely debuted baby bts was? You can already see so much substance and potential and passion even in these 15 (16) to 20 year olds, it’s so cool to see from 10 years in the future. What you said about evolution between 2c4s and this, I agree - but it’s also really difficult to tell for me, because it was ONLY 3 MONTHS later 😭 the amount of work they put in during this era is enormous. Fun fact, the series The Rise of Bangtan is named after that song! Every episode is named after a song that fits that theme, which is super cool. I find it fascinating how they were just wildly bragging in these songs (like: we on, cypher, rise of bangtan, if i ruled the world) but every single thing they said while bragging literally came true. (Thank you for going to doolset and doing your research if you don’t understand a word like satoori, it makes a world of difference for both you and us in enjoying/understanding/seeing their message and being able to love the music.) I sometimes feel lowkey bad for j-hope, being the only jeolla person around surrounded by four people from gyeongsang and two from near seoul - love how he still kept his accent despite spending 24/7 with the members!
Paldogangsan (Satoori Rap) was written by our rap line in 2011!!! :) it was a predebut song and even on the news, Taehyung actually knew about BTS before joining them because of this song
59:11 Bonus points for using the word "paucity" in your reaction! You're right, by the way, and that lack of substance is why BTS is the only pop music I've paid attention to in a long, long time.
I also noticed paucity and got excited! It's such a perfect word for the context you used it in, too. Loui being a curious, lifelong learner makes this whole channel even better!
Absolutely loving this journey that we're taking with you! Thankyou for doing this and reminding me what an absolute banger this album was! I had forgotten a little. Also reaffirms to me how important absorbing their contents in this way is to truly truly get to understand them is. You nice Jonathan, keep going! Also..If youre a hater, you suck suck. 😉

Died laughing at your intro, resuscitated for your reaction. 💜 You just make my day, Tribe Loui! Thank you! ETA (now that I've finished): As always, loved your reaction--a little bit of everything, dancing, thinking, learning, reflecting, laughing. You are a joy, and reliving this album with you was a real treat on this wildfire-smoggy day (AQI at 158 as I type this) that's keeping me indoors again. Many thanks again! 💜
@@kimmyw0322same here 😭 i only became army in early 2019. but like they say, you find bts when you’re meant to 💜 and the main thing is that we’re with them now & forever 💜💜
No like, this journey with the tribe has been amazing, watching content, understanding and enjoying the music, getting to know the members and see the evolution in their music is one of the best experience's ever. I really love it💜💜💜
45:09 Yeah! SUGA definitely meant Chopin the composer! Chopin was outstanding in his field of classical music so it was a reference to being outstanding but for the beats - but also being a composer of the beat is also an added meaning! Given that Yoongi composes songs too.
seeing how bighit didn't have much budget to produce their MVs back then to how they spend on BTS projects now really blows my mind sometimes. so glad to be relive my BTS journey with the tribe!
the intro, interlude, & outro of mots 7 all intentionally sample their first three album intros in reverse order :D (persona sampling skool luv affair, shadow sampling orul82, ego sampling 2 cool 4 skool) the music videos for those songs have a lot of references to their respective previous eras too!!! both pieces of mots era in general reference a lot of their old work but particularly the skool era as that was initially supposed to be their final era of chapter 1. that's why persona's title track is boy With luv instead of boy In luv (bc that's the skool luv affair piece of the mots era) and mots 7's title "ON" is purposefully related to orul82's title "N.O" by having a title that is the reverse. fun fact, mots was originally also supposed to be a trilogy, with the second album being titled "shadow" aka the orul82 reference album and the third being "ego" aka the 2 cool 4 skool reference album, but they opted to combine the two so they could take an extended break in late 2019 instead of having the shadow comeback then (and didn't push both back bc they knew their time was limited bc of military service and their tour). army knew of this too and we constantly referred to their next comeback as shadow whenever we'd make theories about it. we were all so confused when it ended up being called 7 instead but things very quickly made sense when we got the comeback map that showed the titles of shadow and ego (the songs)/ thankfully they still got to include the original shadow and ego themes in the mots 7 album that was born from it!! i know you did not ask for a paragraph of mots era history but mots era is just so full of fun facts i had to share!!!
This album still slaps, Attack on Bangtan never fails to give me goosebumps! I hope Ryker has the Japanese /live On Stage version of the song on your reaction playlist! The energy is unbeatable
Jin really be rubbing off on you with all those camera smooches lmaoo!! Attack on bangtan is still one of my all-time favorite songs from them with that clever analogy and it's also super fun to watch live
BTW SATOORI RAP WAS WRITTEN IN 2011 by rapline, BEFORE THE VOCAL Line JOINED BTS. also isn't it crazy that bts predicted their own success in rise of bangtan. Satoori rap is one of my favorite tracks created by bts cus nothing like it exists.. they are literally rapping in their dialect. Jhope is repping his hometown gwangju or jeolla by rapping in the jeolla accent and dialect and suga and jimin and V and jk are repping daegu busan or gyeongsangdo region dialect. RM represents the standard dialect of korean.
isn't it crazy that the bts rapline had this level of skills already a whole ten years ago who else was doing it like them and who else is doing it like them now !1??
The outro for this album it's perfect!! The shout out to all their tracks, and JK speaking in satoori at the end is the cherry on top of it. And it definitely sets the tone for the next album!!
They had no damn business coming out and leveling up with this good an album 4 months after their debut. The rate they put out outstanding music is staggering even Coldplay talked about it this week (the quantity quality of music). This one has songs in my top tier favorites especially NO Attack on Bangtan and Satoori Rap (imagine baby BTS being teased and bullied for their country hick accents after moving to Seoul and then saying fuck that we are embracing our differences)!
this was the album that made me stan them back in 2014. When I tell you that listening to "don't be trapped in someone else's dream" was a before an after moment in my life,,, they are really the soundtrack of my teens and my twenties
Great video as always! Your observations, editing style, and humor truly elevates your reactions and makes them feel so fresh! Also for the live performances you should definitely do Attack on Bangtan live in Japan. It's wonderfully chaotic and hilarious. they also sing this version in Japanese!
BTS first 2 albums are my faves! The funky beats, diverse rhythms / intoxicating melodies and clever lyrics (metaphors, analogies etc) largely penned by Namjoon, Yoongi and Hobi are incredible! They really make one think and learn and dance.
The albums get better and better overtime, in my opinion especially starting from ‘The most beautiful moment in life’ album in 2015. Their skills, thoughts, take on life are always improving, evolving, molding into new lyrics. Their production are also changing throughout the years, keeping the hiphop base but also following trends and new genres that they’ve explored at the same time. They really put in a lot of effort when it comes to music, they don’t go a day without mentioning or putting a hand on music
I'm glad you're taking this journey one album at a time. Their talent is amazing & their growth is inspiring. Thanks for pointing that out m& thanks too for your use of Ghibli as a backdrop. I'm enjoying all of it.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Bang PD was a real visionary. He let them write about their lives and school days even though people slated him and BTS for it. He wanted them to be kids and not put on an act. Now young people getting into BTS can relate to that era and can grow with the group through their discography, just like the 2013 fans did. It is so simple yet so clever.💜
YOUR REACTION WAS AMAZING, I danced for all the songs Lord 😭😭You can do his live twitch if you want, I don't know about the others but I will be there. I don't really speak English so I don't comment much but thank you for your reactions, your journey through the chaotic purple world of Bangtan is beautiful to see, I feel like I see myself through your reactions (although I didn't go in order)THANK YOU AGAIN 😠💜💜
I absolutely love this journey into BTS discography with your channel. I've been an Army for 2 years now, and I still have lots of content to see. So, for me, going through all of this with someone else is absolutely wonderful. Not to mention your very on point analysis and discussions. Please continue! I'd love to see all of it here. Thank you for sharing your content! Keep up your great work.
Just the first song and besides being amazing, it surprises me so much that 10 years later RM is righting again "back to where I was 9". All their lyrics have some trails from previous ones. Wow. Even since the begining talking about living your life, not doing what society wants you to do. Criticizing the suffocating school system...... giving hope. Coffee is one of my favorite B sides. Sweet as a machiato. I swear if this album was released today, it would be an international banger. It would go to the no1
Nobody will ever change my mind about this: in Cypher Pt. 1 when Yoongi says on the beat he's Chopin was the hardest and most intelligent insult I've ever seen anybody throw. Ever. Like, he insulted people in ways they didn't even know they got insulted with that one line.
Ooh I loved this reaction! Coffee is one of my all-time favorites, it's so underrated and beautiful! Hobi's gorgeous vocals over that guitar make me melt every time! I'm so excited for you to do Skool Luv Affair. LOTS more bangers! 🫰💜
I truly appreciate, once again, the way you enlarge the subtitles for mobile phone YT viewers! Also, (tip of the day!) you can increase the text size in Doolset's website (or any website) by pressing both CTRL + 'Zoom-in function' (or scroll in using your mouse) - hope I'm explaining this right. That way viewers can also see the text comfortably. Loving your album-by-album pilgrim's progress! Thanks again, Jonathan.
I just get the biggest amount of serotonin boost whenever i see you post a new video, thank you for making my days better Louie💜 Can you believe this album was relesed in 2013 and still slaps today not gonna lie! 2 cool 4 skool and o!rul82 were only three months apart and their next album Skool Luv Affair 5 months after the second one. They are the hardest working artists ever! Love them so much and love you too Louie, keep doing what you are doing, those skits got me on the floor laughing🤣 I'm so happy to be on this journey of you discovering BTS! Oh and If youre a hater, you suck suck.😝
Never clicked so fast bro, just know that I would happily watch a 5 hrs long video cus I'm addicted to your vibe and the way you appreciate the tannies. Now I'm gonna grab a snack and watch
I’m going through a lot of stressful times right now, but when I watch your videos, it’s a small break lots of smiles and laughter, and it’s a great feeling to be able to skate for just a moment! Thank you so much for what you’re doing!!!!!
Loui you deserve an award for the most creative, unique and entertaining reaction videos ever 😂 The effort you put into the editing and the genuine interest and respect you have for our boys is so lovely to see. I still have to watch many of your reaction videos but the ones I've seen so far are very enjoyable. Keep it up! Thank you for your hard work 💜
Just want to add that Attack on Bangtan and Satoori Rap have choreographies :_) AND that the Satoori Rap was a predebut skit-like song featuring their different accents and upbringing and they made it to the news, since nobody had the cultural awareness to make a rap about the Korean regions differences. So later they re-recorded it as OT7 for this album.
it’s cool bc eventually you’ll hear that they reference a lot of these lyrics or beats, etc in other songs they’ve made after this. they are just sooo fucking cool. like incredibly cool. i love them so much. they are such artists frfr.
God, what I wouldn't give to go back and listen to all of BTS for the first time. An absolute god-tier discography. Thank you for letting me live through you vicariously 😂
N.O made me an army. Back in 2013 I saw them debut but it wasn’t until N.O that I realised they had something meaningful to saw. (I never looked at lyrics) Something that resonated with me then and resonates with me now.
IF YOU'RE A HATER YOU SUCK SUCK HAHAHAH I love your videos so much! It makes me sooo happy, it feels like rediscovering them for the first time all over again through you! I was smiling the whole time. Laughing, dancing. THANK YOU!!! TE AMO!! HAHAHA
love that you're going album by album! I hope you give their documentaries a watch too! They really have so much content variety shows, docs, behind the scenes, bon voyage, it's crazy
The INTRO IS FIYAAA🔥🔥🔥 The bullet coming through the screen done mess me up bruh 😂😂😂 And poor Harry in the back taking shots 🥹😂 he ain’t even say nothing to you Louis 🥲 This whole video is a mess 😂😂
I've gotta say, you delve into the guys have been thorough. I truly enjoy your take on them, it's always enjoyable and reminds me why I listen to them every day since I stumbled onto them two years ago. Thank you for the reactions!
Oh... my gad. I LOVED the intro. 😆😉 O, R U L8, 2? Because I'm here 1 day late, whaaaat.😅 We luv u 2, Tribe Loui. You've reminded me how this whole album is a banger even though it was released sooo early in their career. And as you said, Bangtan Sonyeondan is giving us nothing but substance (they have a lot of songs that are supposed to be just fun but even they have some kind of message... it's craaazy). Ready and looking forward to live streaming with you! 🥰 (if you're a hater u suck suck 💜)(hiiii, Tribe Loui's nephew 😁)
If you're a hater you suck suck 💜 This album is FIRE, one of the best things about BTS is that the more you listen to their songs, the better they get 💜
