If the police officers are a member of the riot team I haven't got a problem with their trousers being tucked into their boots but when it comes to your normal police officer on the streets it's a no-go

That trouser tuck in the boots thing is a military practice. Big tactical boots with combat trousers it involves a bungy cord on the inside to overlap the top of the boot. Or they may have a fear that a rat may run up their trouser legs and take a bite out of their meat and two veg.

I had a quick look at Google Maps, this station didn't have a fence around it until 2015 - what happened in 2015 to make them think they needed a high security fence? - are they really that frightened of the General Public? - for me the fences highlight the Us and Them attitude of modern policing.
