I had the Warden on guitar. Used for a year or so. Switched to the Empress MkII. The metering on the Empress really helps - and it's a great compressor. Moved the Warden to Bass. Works well there. Nice Video.

So, I bought a keeley compressor when I started playing electric guitar after years of only playing acoustic. It stayed as an always on pedal and allowed me to eventually develop a lighter touch and work on my feel dynamics over time. Really, it made the crossover to electric less scary and gave me more confidence during band practice. Now that I’m way more comfortable on my instrument it only gets used for tracking overdriven lead parts sometimes. Honestly, it was like my training wheels for learning how to play guitar all over again on an electric!

just ordered one. it was a little pricey but i think this might be the finishing piece for my pedalboard. been using a Keeley 2 knob compressor which is great but excited to try The Warden.

Ive been playing since 01' and 16yrs later i I FINALLY understand pedals . Thanks to That Pedal Show and compression was foreign to me. In 2017 i wanted this pedal but fot the Way huge Saffron squeeze and it wS great. I finally got the EQD i wanted for ao long. The Avalanche run and the warden theu are they simply awesome

you want to bring the Attack C.C.W, until you heard it starting to muffle your note attack, then back C.W a touch.

Noob question. Would I plug my guitar into the pedal and then pedal into my amp? Any other chords needed other than an extra guitar cable?

That is basically it yes. From guitar, into pedal input, then from pedal output into amp input. Some pedals come with a battery, but they usually don't last long so you will need a power supply to power the pedal. Likely DC 9V with center negative polarity. If you start introducing additional pedals you will eventually need patch cables.

Why oh Why is there not a rackmount pedalboard system available?

Umm AxeFX 3 has both a self contained floor unit and a floor controller plus rackmount processor option, as does line 6 with helix floor and helix rackmount. I use the helix system for my live rig and have nothing but good things to say about it (well mostly at least). If you’re not taking about multi effects, then you’ve got me stumped as to what you mean. I used to use a voodoo controller that would on/off 8 loops plus send midi commands (to helix and amp). In this way you can activate/deactivate a huge comb in nation of stone box style effects with a single (or a couple) foot presses and the pedals themselves can be anywhere you want (with 8 loops it’s best to have them close though). Tbh this huge jump in complexity just wasn’t worth it and I just use the helix and a couple boxes in front that need to be prebuffer. I also put a favorite drive up there, and if I really need specific time based effect I use the helix’s external effects loop. Check out neural DSP too, good system but they might not have a rackmount - not sure. Why rack anyway? It’s the opposite of convenient

@@therockhour1386 My bad, that's a much easier solution though. With the caveat that we've never had a need for a large number of inaccessible rack mount pedals, a 2U sliding drawer works well
