I had a cystoscopy done yesterday. Like many of you I was dreading it and wishing they would put me under. But it was mostly a big nothing burger. Very minor discomfort and it stung when I urinated the first few times but 18 hours later no pain at all. I got to look inside at the mass in my bladder and I'm scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks but the cystoscopy was no big deal.
@@kelalamusic9258 And I can't explain the difference. I had a second one done 2 weeks ago as a followup and, while it was a bit uncomfortable, I can't say it was painful. The only parts where I experienced any (minor) pain was when they injected the numbing gel into the tip and afterwards I experienced a minor burning sensation a few times when I peed but that was it. I was able to watch on the view screen and visualize my own anatomy and could clearly see that everything was normal. If you are really worried I would ask your doctor about general anesthesia but so not refuse treatment. This was just a routine followup for me but the first one discovered a tumor that could have cost me my life.
I got one today, the pain was weird, not a sharp pain. What hurt most was feeling how deep in my uterus the pain went. I felt that had the pain gone deeper into my bladder ,it would have been too much. But it was over in around 4-5 minutes. Now at home it hurts alot to finish my stream,and there is a little blood. They only found an enlarged prostate, and bladder wall thickening
I had this procedure for the it’s time on 11 April 2024. Urologist was really good, no pain apart from a pinch feel as it went through my sphincter. Once inside it was like a snowstorm, urologist drained the debris to get a good clear look. The anaesthetic gel stung slightly. I would do it again if required. It’s no big deal if urologist does it correctly.
I had two back to back UTIs. It caused epididymitis which is excruciating. The UTIs were caused by E-Coli inside my urinary system. The E-Coli strain is untreatable due to resistance to anti-biotics. I will be susceptible to frequent UTIs for the rest of my life.
Simple question. Why don’t urologists use a form of anesthesia like a gastroenterologist does for a colonoscopy? It would alleviate the pain and anxiety for men. Please don’t say there is no pain, for many men who’ve had the procedure say that there is.
I can answer some of your questions. No, they almost never give you any or even adequate pain control for this procedure. You practically have to know someone in administration to get the procedure done under general anesthesia. I would never do it again without general anesthesia. Not trying to scare anyone off that is my experience. I understand that some patient say it was merely uncomfortable, but the large amount of patients who say it was Painful should leave medical professionals to err of humanity
I wouldn't do that procedure at all, whether I had anaesthesia or not. The risk of getting an infection or suffering urethra damage from some *** putting a camera in a place where it doesn't belong is a risk I'm not willing to take.
Yeah, I had lidocaine and they gave it time to work, but that didn't help at all once they hit the prostate. Felt like getting stabbed with a screwdriver, and I got front row seating to watch something inside my body start bleeding... it didn't stop bleeding for 3 weeks. The guy didn't even give me an antibiotic, despite watching this on the screen. I ended up with a UTI which also lasted for weeks. AND THEY MISSED THE STONE which had been causing my symptoms the entire time. Don't allow yourself to get bullied into this procedure if you don't want to. It will, at best, be pretty uncomfortable, and at worst it can cause real damage and be quite painful. That's also not even getting into the fact that the doc will likely drag in a young female scrub tech or nurse, and she'll drag in a chaperone who will likely be an MA from the front desk.
@@biggs6466 since I’m sure that you didn’t stoically lie there and act like it didn’t hurt you, there’s no question in my mind that doctors know how painful this procedure can be. It’s one thing to become desensitized to the point where you can carry on your duties without taking them home with you, but it’s another thing entirely. You show no compassion or empathy for the people that you are trying to help.
Hell no, I about jumped out of the chair at that point. My doctor is supposedly one of the best in the country, but honestly as a newish patient with him, if I hadn't heard all of the glowing reviews I would have gone elsewhere already. @@PeteHob
Why create a video of 3 minutes and 26 seconds for something that can be answered with two letters? The answer is NO. You don't need a scope shoved where it doesn't belong. You need a doctor that actually examines you without harming you. Doctors should know it is not acceptable to sexually abuse their patients.
Doc i am a 13 year old filipino (1 week after circumcision) and there is a bubble thing forming around the head of my penis, is that normal? if not what do i do?
No it is not and you should not have been circumcised. It is unnecessary and is only useful for very select cases. Some penile cancers and phismosis are the only reasons it may be nessary.
