Don’t do it, it’s been a nightmare for my husband. He’s had 5 corrective surgeries ending with a Turp and needs one more from scar tissue causing a problem.
I had two back to back UTIs. It caused epididymitis which is excruciating. The UTIs were caused by E-Coli inside my urinary system. The E-Coli strain is untreatable due to resistance to anti-biotics. I will be susceptible to frequent UTIs for the rest of my life.
thank you Dr. Hyman, I just got a job as a scheduler at a Urology Clinic, I schedule cystos every now and then. Thank you for explaining the procedure.
Im 21 years old.. Only 2 weaks ago my cicrumcission was happened..its healing well.. But some of my stitches are gone along this short time period(only 2 eaks)..Is this wrong?
Thank you Doc great video! I am 59 y/o with a history of BPH since 54 y/o. I tried flow max,saw palmetto and finasteride. The side affects of flowmax and finasteride was awful. Well recently I start to have blood in my semen I got antibiotics MRI of the prostate everything looks good and a cystoscope. I'm on 5 mg finasteride daily for almost 3 months the headaches were bad at first. Now yes sex drive diminish a lot but,the trade off is worth it no more bleeding and my PSA numbers the lowest ever!
I had the procedure three years ago at age 67. Before the procedure, I was urinating every hour (including through the night), a weak flow and lots of dribbling. My prostate was twice normal size at 60cc (one urologist said, "If that was a buck, you'd mount it"). Unrelated to the UroLift procedure, I'd a year earlier had a prostate biopsy because of a high PSA, but the biopsy was negative. I was given a general anesthetic for the procedure. Afterward, there was 23 hours with a catheter, which was uncomfortable but not particularly painful. Another few days of some moderate pain with urination, but what was more bothersome was the inability to hold back the flow...I had to stay close to the bathroom that week. Then I had another three weeks of gradually re-learning how to hold it back. At this point, I'm going four hours between urination, strong flow, no dribbling, and complete evacuation. I'm still taking finasteride, and probably will. No complications. I'm totally happy with the procedure.
As a doctor you should stop spreading fear it is unethical, only a small number of men have these side effects. Also, you are confusing dutasteride which almost completely shuts down DHT with finasteride which leads to small increase in testosterone but still leaves DHT production to an extent.
I had the procedure three years ago, with a 60 cm prostate. My doctor put me under general anesthesia for the procedure with a 24-hour catheter afterward. The catheter was uncomfortable...not particularly painful, but uncomfortable, and I went home the same day. For the next week, I had to stay close to the bathroom, because I had very little holding control when the urge to urinate hit (although I never urinated in bed...I actually began sleeping longer right away). No travelling that first week. For about another two weeks I had to make sure I knew where the closest restroom was. It took about two months before I re-learned how to hold myself reliably. But since then, the results have been wonderful, and I'm fully satisfied. My doctor has me come in every six months to check things out, but it's all good.
@@lorenxoap bro I found two weeks post surgery very tough putting Vaseline on it does help but it’s very sore just walking around try take it easy but the recovery is defo understated I’m nearly 5 weeks post surgery and erections are still painful and I’m not fully healed red lump under the head but all normal apparently I also bled small bit for 10 days post surgery
@@zaernss28 it's chill, for me after one week the hyper sensitivity reduced and I could move around without gauze. Just wrap and rewrap the glans every day for a week, and the sensitivity should become bearable.
I've had a SEVERE case and I couldn't retract myforeskin (it was literally impossible due to the diameter of the opening which was around 1 milimetr!!) But I've worked hard on myself and widened it with my own hands sloooowly and steadily over the period of 5 years starting from 9 years old till 14 and I still continue (even though there's no need already as it looks wonderful and super comfortable). So if you have the same problem at least try to stretch it by yourself it's so worth it!
Can I asked questions does my circumcision stitches falls off while showering is it in healing process because maybe it's different from your country than mine Philippines we believe that stitches are falls off it was healing but it looks like little bit swollen and the down part center where it was cut was little bit pain like it's only 0.1% pain 😂
I was circumcised as a baby but not fully. Still had skin that over time stuck the bottom of the head and I got it cut yesterday. Didn’t feel a thing during surgery due to being put to sleep. As far as today goes the pain was mild nothing serious. Swelling a bit I’ll keep yall updated
Had mine done 3 days ago. Mine ended up bleeding out large amounts of blood and swelling up like a balloon. It all happened few hours after surgery. So much blood that an ambulance took me to emergency. They stop the bleeding but decided to trust in the healing so im home crossing my fingers.
Same thing happened to me, I was bleeding alot nd they decided to stitch me. I was so scared. Bleeding stopped, the left side is healing nd the right side just looks horrible taking longer to heal. I'm on day 15. Swelling is still there but it reduced alot
I was 15 years old and my brother was 13 when circumcised. I was healed in about a week with a little pain, but my brother had more pain, and took him a month to feel good.
Sorry but for the first 6 months there is quite a lot of sensitivity. After the 6 months, it has very little sensitivity because the head is not covered anymore and it has dried and lost the sensitivity it has when its was covered almost like your eyes. Which when open feel the most gentle of breezes and when closed feel only the hardest punches.
I was 22 when I had it done.Painful for me was 24 hours only.Pain killers helped a lot.One month later had stitches removed,at that time stitches weren’t dissolvable. Some stitches were very painful to remove and others came out easy. I am 57 now with no regrets. Ps always wear very loose pants when recovering.
Hi sir, did u notice any difference on ur sexual life? How is ur glans sensitive after so many years? I'm guessing u prob take longer to reach an orgasm hmm (appreciate ur input thks)
It depends how bad your phimosis is. They usually try and give you steroid creams to remedy the problem first. It works for some people. Circumcision is the last resort type thing
@@BigWisper i been using the steroid cream and itz been working tbh but like sometimes when i peel it all d way bsck it stays stuck n then i force it to go bacm to normal and i dont know if ots normal i kinda get scared also when im erect it doesnt peel back as easy
@@monkeyoffender100 I won’t even lie to you bro,it’s only okay when you’re relaxing and not doing anything, get away from work/school for a while ,you’re quite limited to movement
Hello Dr. Hyman, I am a 50 yr old male, I started noticing the foreskin starting trying to adhere to the right side of the head of the penis but was no issue, that was when I was about 34-35 yrs old. Now I am 50 and my foreskin is adhered around the entire head of the penis about halfway back of the head. If I try to pull it back it hurts, kinda feels like bad bee stinging. I understand I need a circumcision because it has interfered in my sex life with my wife for the past couple of yrs now. When we try to have sex it stretches the skin back far and it will bleed and just like I said, hurts and stings very bad. Now that I have tried to catch you up with me, what would be your course of action with me, with my condition what type of circumcision would you do if you were guessing, how long would I be in pain from this, and my concern as much as the procedure, the swelling, hurting, bleeding etc. is afraid of the physician not helping me enough with pain medication until all of the pain subsides. I'm not interested in long term use of pain medication but I sure don't want to go without pain medication because I know by watching others on youtube speak about their experiences they were in pain for long periods of time especially when they try to walk any distance at all, pain is extreme at times and this is a long time after the procedure. I hope you can message me back on here because I am for sure I am forgetting some questions I can ask you once my initial questions are asked. P.S.- I live in the eastern United States. If I were close at all to you I would for sure just come to you and let you do this and help my life. Thank you for posting your videos. -Steven B.
Doctor, When can I allow elections? During the night I get the sensation of erections, but seems to somewhat like the pain in a way and takes a while to go down?
Just had mine done 3 days ago. The pain was manageable but my god the swollen part really is a damper. Movement wise he was spot on. All in all... I'm glad it is almost over.
Why create a video of 3 minutes and 26 seconds for something that can be answered with two letters? The answer is NO. You don't need a scope shoved where it doesn't belong. You need a doctor that actually examines you without harming you. Doctors should know it is not acceptable to sexually abuse their patients.
I’m almost 4 weeks after surgery and it feels and looks amazing, never any funky smell anymore, after day 10 I could return back to all my activities and after day 15 all stitches had come out by themselves or with my help, all the skin is completely healed and no pain at all just a little bit of swelling to go down near frenulum but that’s it.
I’m 20 years old, I didn’t feel a thing during the surgery I had a local anaesthetic, 30 minutes after surgery I felt it, I can best describe the sensation as a slight burning sensation on the penis but it is very much bareable the most pain I felt after surgery was taking the bandage off that’s it.
@@Tyler_-vm8pp hi sir, so I just had my circumcision yesterday, I was wondering when would the swelling stop so mind if I ask how is yours doing after the operation?
@@sanik4725 mines going great after operation looking and feeling good, 80% of the swelling is gone the rest seems to be going down very slowly now, some people say up to 6 months for everything to be normal
Thanks doctor but my son is going to be circumcize for the second time and is four years old now but by then was just a new born baby and they are going to repeat because his stitches did not get out and it has started becoming a problem
The urolift is a horribly barbaric device that will eventually fail as your prostate grows. Minimum 1 Week recovery blood, cramping, urgency. What happens if the urolift perforates an undiagnosed prostate cancer? What happens if it perforates a nerve? May get a little pain? Of hell no! Excruciating pain, cramping, bleeding, blood clots, not being able to urinate. Just run from this! There are much better proceedures out there
I had my circumcision done on may 1st 2024 due to phimosis feeling hell 😢and bleeding often during nights due to erection 😢. Anyone feeling the pain lets come together and cross this hurdle❤
