If someone is averaging 29mpg, they really shouldn’t have a diesel. Shows most journeys are short and eventually they are going to have DPF issues. I have a 430D and she averages 40mpg, that’s mainly motorway with some heavy foot blasting now and then. Mercedes isn’t my thing, digital cockpit looks decent though.
I really like the way you appreciate cars for what they are Calv. Getting rid of unnecessary body kits and tints etc so the car can be as it was designed to be. Good use of the word chav too! Big congrats on tieing the knot too 🍾
This resonates with me I’ve typically bought BMW’s in the past but recently bought a 2019 E Class coupe based on the looks/interior only to have felt disappointed by the car compared to my previous less hi tech BMW’s
You’re a bit unfair, you haven’t tried the amg yet and you make a comparison between the m5 and the e350..the e63amg comes with way up much better materials

Agree 100%. Interior visuals are banging but the quality is disappointing. Used to be obsessed with Mercedes’ since a child but the scratchy materials and hard leathers even in the modern flagships gls and s class make me wanna cry 😂
@@freddiejones4598 defo creak a lot. Even the s class has textured leather. The new shape still has some cheap plastics unfortunately they lose in quality to bmw and Audi
@@neilmurphy845 well they are an older generation but I reckon they’re a lot closer to a ‘proper’ Mercedes’. 2015 onwards is when I think they initially started to lose it

Im so with you on the Mercedes thing. I cant quite put my finger on it either. Iv had countless Mercedes cars over the years including an E350 CDI Coupe, a C55 AMG and more recently a C63 AMG W204 model.....my issue was that each Mercedes I have had has had issues. My BMW's on the otherhand have all been super reliable. I currently have a BMW M235i and that thing is a real hoot.....although Mercedes AMG/AMG Line cars look great, for me the way they drive, the road presence, the excitement that comes from driving them is not on par with a BMW.......
I think it's preference n depends which dealers u go to. There will be good and bad for every company. For me it's the opposite, every Merc I had was flawless no issues however slight small problems with bmw.

Can't really judge a merc off a convertible diesel....E63 is a beast and comfy as can be at the same time....Brilliant cars...Drive wise head and shoulders over an m5

I like how you tried to compare this to your M5 lol. Or sort of compared it. C63s Amg is direct comp to m5 and personally sounds so much better, looks better, and dare i say is quicker? BMW = driver cars MERC = Classy.👍

The E class definitely has something over the C class (as it should) but one interesting fact it’s hardly any bigger but just seems to have more road presence - beautiful car in my opinion and l love the mat ( 😁not official term) finish of the wood affect - I don’t do the mileage to get the benefit from a diesel I just wish Mercedes did a E63 coupe ! Merc’s drive very meh. That’s the non AMGs. I’m the same as Calv not into Merc’s. Audis Lexus BM much preferred. Been in trade 15 years. Obv the c63 black series and the like yes yes yes. But the CDIs and Kompressers of old. Yeh. They’re just what they are. So many on road. I feel Calv and I obviously wrong.
I’ve got a 66 plate C class 2.2 diesel AMG convertible electric window buttons always break very cheap and nasty bought ones on eBay £5 for two better than Mercedes
All 2019' comes with the fullscreen dash. Mercedes is light years a ahead of BMW and the rest of the market with tech, looks and design. But they are not drivers cars they are classy/luxury cruisers. BMW's are a better driving machine, as they state themselves but that comes with a very outdated design Insde and out.
That’s gorgeous not nearly as fast as your M5 but sooooooo pretty looks a million diamonds 💎 Mercedes smash aesthetic looks inside and out and they win 🏆 truth told my personal preference is Mercedes over BMW having owned both from new so cards on the table yes love the Mercedes brand more but I your M5 is stunning
