I have walked off many jobs before even when it wasn't financially wise to do so in order to preserve my health and sanity. No one could understand some of the nonsense and trauma some of us have endured working at a 9-5 unless they have experienced it themselves. I've personally experienced some intense warfare in the workplace so I wouldn't dare judge anyone that had the courage to leave a toxic situation.

Absolutely! I used to have a state job and when I left the second time (😂), one of the horrible people came to my going away party literally to tell me how stupid I was for giving up a state job. I endured two rounds of harassment one from a crazy supervisor, one from a crazy direct report. I had a Director who had no idea what my job entailed ( I was the person making sure that money was coming in). When the directors pet made executive decisions that had us losing $5000 they received no consequences. I was covertly given a problem employee because they thought my job was useless and that I would have the free time to monitor this person, she made my life a living hell for three years. They rewarded her by putting her in a closet office having her doing unbelievably basic tasks and paying her $50,000 a year plus benefits. I put in my resignation.

I worked in IT which is a wm dominated field and the amount of stress was also affecting my mental and physical health. I had to go on high blood pressure medication. And although I was a high income earner, I could no longer deal with the stress. Being debt free and having a decent savings made quitting so much less stressful I’m now semi retired working about 16 to 20 hours a week. I live a stress free, modest but comfortable life and couldn’t be happier.

I might walk off my job today! I hate it! I hope they fire me honestly. Ahhhhh. No job is worth going insane from the stress. Right??

If people were being bigoted you absolutely did the right thing to just leave. You couldn’t pay me enough to deal with that I’ll wash windows or something 😂

I’m a single childfree bw and I’m also debt-free, including mortgage with a healthy investment portfolio and savings account. In addition, I also have rental income. I quit my last four jobs because of being debt-free, including mortgage. I am now semi retired working part-time. Because my monthly expenses are so low, my rental income and my part-time job is more than enough to pay for my monthly bills. I only need to withdraw from savings unless I don’t work enough hours on my part time job . For the most part, my investments are still growing and I actually now have more money than when I quit working full-time last year. I definitely can understand just walking off a job because when you are debt-free and have a savings account, you no longer are a slave to a job. When you become debt-free, including mortgage, it’s literally the next best thing to being rich because it gives you freedom. if you can’t be rich, be debt-free.

Andrew, you summed it all up. Your health should always be "front and center" and your top priority! Don't look back, I was in your space just 5 years ago. You will be just fine; you are a survivor! You are very intelligent, and God is on your side. Your finances are good and your choices you have made, have been spot on. .

Drinking lots of water and eating Whole Foods, like not gmo stuff …not necessarily expensive just solid Whole Foods have made such a difference in my health overall. Consider getting some chickens they’re fun and give you free eggs. You can also eat them in an emergency situation 😂

I feel like walking off the job honestly often. My daughter is the only one that helps me hang in there on the job. Good luck with everything. You have to do what works for you. Don’t mind or listen to what others say. They aren’t in your shoes. Another job will come.

That money is called FU money. It usually comes well after the emergency fund and some retirement savings. It allows you to do exactly what you did and say eff this when you know it's the right decision and split.

15:01 eat meat and eggs, because that is where the most nutrition is all the other stuff is just filler. Even if you have to eat the cheap meats it is more nutritious than any of that other stuff. Start looking at ketogenic, carnivore and fasting channels

Congrats on walking off your job I have left several. I have to disagree with you about the economy being "bad", here's why; I work in an industry where I provide a "luxury" service. Some people call it healthcare, although nurses and doctors would not call it that. Not only do I have more work than I can handle I have been offered countless jobs ( throughout the plandemic) . I have extremely wealthy clientele and I have people who scrape the bottom of the barrel to come see me once in a while. I think many of us are mistaking a "bad economy" for the fact that our corporate overlords are greedy mofos and they are squeezing the last drop of blood out of every person in this country and many of the people in other countries. Corporations are raiding our pockets and greedy politicians are helping them do so. If you're not registered to vote, go register today! Don't vote for someone who is promoting tax breaks for billionaires, because in all likelihood you ( the person reading this ) are not a billionaire a millionaire or even a half millionaire and you probably never will be. The system is rigged.
