At 78 years old, there is no choice. Keep going or die. My body is tired, I carry a smaller camera, but every day there is light in all its glory. I just have to see it, explore it, love it.

Andrew, you are a reminder to us 20% to never stop going for those big dreams. I am taking a break from art school/college because I am burnt out, and lost my voice as an artist. My motivation is remembering myself as a kid and teenager with big dreams, and not disappointing him.

Well, this was timely. I’m painting a mural on my shed, that was inspired by a trip to Mexico, and I’m literally struggling to tune out the voice that says “no one cares” about your shed mural or where you got the idea. But, it’s really the voice in my head I’m afraid of. Most everyone else I know likes my art, my videos, and me. And I forget that. Onward!

Exspecially my younger self that thought she would never make it but just kept going. I never really had many friends and the friends I used to have became very toxic over the years. When I meet new people and they ask me about my story, they are always like ,,how did you make it? Why did you not give up?" My answer always is: because I realised I will never be fully alone because my biggest Supporter is always with me. And that's myself. I never gave up on me! Trust in yourself is one way of self love. The most important relationship we have in our life is the one we have with ourself. Other people are just a bonus. Thank you for this, Andrew. It comes at an important time for me. Why do I keep going? It’s almost spooky how that question, and this theme of learning that I am my first and most important audience, and so I need to make things for myself, in order to have any chance of them landing for others; and butterflies (especially the cocoon phase of their life-cycle, when their entire caterpillar body and brain gets torn apart, in order to be transformed into a butterfly) and Rick Rubin’s latest book, and new wave youtube, keep weaving together in my life at the moment. I’m 60 now, staring down what’s probably the last quarter of my life. The last 4 years have been really tough. Four bouts of cancer in our family-one a year. My partner and I each survived it, but I lost my Dad in 2020, and she lost her Mom this January. In the midst of that, we’ve had to shut down big parts of what’s been our life’s work for the last 16 years, as our funding dried up, even as violence and war started blowing up again around the world. We work on peace, so that’s been incredibly disheartening, and we’ve had to think very carefully about whether these last few decades of our work have just been a waste. So why am I still going? I think perhaps the chance to finally do something I care about, for its own sake, without having to justify anything, simply because I find it beautiful.

What keeps me going? There's a tension within (sometimes really annoying tension) and huge amount of visions in my mind that let me have some rest only after I stop, give myself time to create and 'make it happen'. I realised that if you once let yourself to hear/see everything from within you there's no way back. You can postpone creating due to other stuff in life, you can procrastinate but in the end the inner world will find the way to let it out 😅 Best wishes to you! What keeps me moving forward are the moments where I realize how powerful I’m. I’m the one making my decisions. I’m the one creating my life. I see what I‘ve already created for myself and the people arround me. It’s when I realize how powerful I’m and that the decisions I make right now, determine my way. There’s no right and wrong decision for me. It’s just the matter of „which direction do I go“. I‘m learning to figure out a way to create my life, because I really want to live it full of love, abundance, learning,… And I think that’s a lifelong process. I keep moving forward with my photography because I’ve stopped before. During that time I noticed I had lost my favorite part of myself and I had lost joy I was bringing to others. I struggle with clinical depression since 2 years and last two years I was almost a year in clinics. After death of my sister and beginning of war it was a problem for me to find the reasons, why I should keep going. But since several months I start to feel that there is something bigger, something that is waiting for me in the future. And slowly now I start to build my life from scratch again. Your videos are great inspiration to continue doing what I love

20% club! What keeps me pushing forward is my son. I struggle with depression but I claw my way out constantly for him. My boyfriend granted me the ability to quit working two jobs and start working towards a healthier me. I know not everyone has that luxury so I try not to make the most out of my good days. My boyfriend has a motto, “How many times do you live?” It forces you to stop and think. He also loves using it as an excuse for any spontaneous act such as last minute traveling. As guess I could say that he’s the fuel to keeping me going while my son is my why.

I am self tought photographer watching by youtube videos and doing photography for 10 years that I must say you are most insperational and real person I came across at this platform. Well done mate. I had embraced the loser mentality for a long time and I didn't have to care anymore do anything however I was wrong and it made me realise that it's not hard to do big things it's much harder to do nothing, just to sit there and think it's a lot.

I’ve lived a time (50+ years) not believing I had much inside worth seeing the light of day, for various reasons. I resonate with what you say, that it doesn’t matter the amount of positive feedback you receive if you don’t believe in yourself. It’s like a slow leak sabotaging the outflow of who you’re meant to be. Sometimes it takes special people in your life to help you get past all that. So I’d say my boyfriend is the one who challenged my self-doubt and has an incredible amount of vision for possibilities he encourages me with almost daily. He’s an extraordinary human. ❤

I’m 20% I keep going because I feel I actually have faith in myself as a creator after many years. started my RU-vid years ago, was terrible at videos. Did a lot of short form on reels/instagram and got confident in my ability to create and inspire. It’s totally different for long form and very slow process for me. I’m currently still using art tutorials on RU-vid to practice creating videos and maintain some growth -but have so many ideas that are more about connecting to people through thoughts and feelings like your videos. But I go through the same doubtful mental processes you describe, why I started watching your channel-thanks for inspiring me, your articulation about how the mind can confuse us & distract us from following through is spot on. We just have to do the work and have faith in ourselves!

I think what makes your videos so special for me and for others is, that you really can talk in a way that I'm really feeling like a companion, who is following you and see how you grow and overcome your problems, fears whatever, and the fact that you're sharing this so honestly and in a calm way with the perfect shots, the freaking nice film grain, the green colours and yourself is so great. And when I finished the whole video I feel like there's always something I've learned and even it's just one little thing. It was worth it. So great (a butterfly is on your leg btw :D). I think the montage in this video was so freaking sick. I'm still here at the end. I wanted to comment on something you said about having so many more people watching and how you thought it would make things easier. I learned someone similar that i want to share with you. One time, i achieved something that i didn't believe i could. I got this certification, basically a stamp of approval and it was a really big deal. I was stunned. For a fraction of a moment, i felt euphoric. Then, i felt nothing. I asked myself, wow, what the hell was that? And the answer i got was, "It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you. It matters what you think of you." That's where the work is. I keep going because I know deep down that there is much more to life than what I have experienced, even if it doesn't feel like it gets much different than this. I don't create as much as I'd like to, but I'm working towards changing that. Finding a way to keep going, and make that thing I knew in my heart I wanted to. Be myself, because part of me knows who that really is, and creating may be just that: the real me. I also see it as a matter of persisting for the sake of proving to myself that I can be the person that I strive to be: someone who is more observant, patient, and grateful. The timing of this video was amazing. For the last few months I've been unhappy and wrestling with changing it. Finally yesterday I gave my two weeks notice to pursue the life I want to design.
