I was born and raised in Austria 🇦🇹. It is a racist country! I went to Qatar as a Christian and I love it! Finally I know what freedom means and I receive so much respect and kindness from muslim. Thank you so much for your amazing muslim culture as well! I am looking forward to learn about Islam. ❤
You’re welcome to our Muslim community (ummah) anytime you’re ready for it. What we want for ourselves we wish that for others. And islam gives us only positive answers on anything that you can think of. It’s sometimes only ppl who are ignorant (no Muslims but unfortunately also some Muslims, and we have the task to educate others on this beautiful way of living). I came to Germany and was just thinking, "This country appears civilized, but carries hostility towards Muslims and Islam. My future is not safe here." and this video appeared in my feed.
The problem is that the top politicians are always marionettes of the zionists/USA. We are also occupied for the last 75years ...the russian left us but the american still here 😂😂😂LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
It's great to see Brother Dr. Tariq Ramadan. At least here in the United States, though the far right still has a long way to go in terms of Al-Islam, but there's a small but steady climb that the conservatives are beginning to understand that Al-Islam is NOT a threat, but an asset to society, especially in light of liberal woke behavior which Muslims have taken the lead to protest.
@@magnuskallas wrong my friend! Islam is transparent. More and more people are embracing Al-Islam daily, especially in Europe. Please study history and you would understand that if it wasn't for Al-Islam, Europe would still be in the dark ages. The Muslims by way of the Moors gave civilization to Andalusia (now Spain and Portugal) when the rest of Europe was far behind the rest of the world. So Al-Islam doesn't just fit in Europe, it was responsible for making Europe great.
@@charlesshabazz5006 Islam is definitely not transparent. And I find it scary people accept it in Europe - has to do with people manipulated into "acceptance". No, I and many others don't accept this nonsense, and please, do not force it on me by law.
@@magnuskallas again please study the Moors. Europe was quite scary before the Moors came and after the Muslims were driven out, Europe became even scarier. Check out WW1 and WW2 and the Holocaust. Who started these wars? Was it the Muslims? Of course not! It was the Christians my friend! Who were the 2 worst mass murderers in history? Were they Muslim? Nope one was Atheist and the other was Christian. Stalin and Hitler. By the way, no one was forced to be Muslim under the Moors, and today no one is forcing non-Muslims to embrace Al-Islam, only the Creator makes Muslims, because in Al-Islam there's no compulsion in religion Surah Al-Baqarah 2:256. Please share proof on how people are manipulated into becoming Muslim. Please read Al-Qur'an, visit a local Masjid and talk to local Scholars from the Masjid to ask any questions. You know what? You will make a great Muslim one day. You just don't know it.😂
I gravitate in the French sphere and I also noticed like Dr Ramadan said the lack of Muslim intellectuals in the public sphere. You have the layman dawah but there's absolutely no one at the higher level to counter the nonsensical narratives. The only Muslims you see speaking are either munafiq or laymen. Honestly I somehow understand why. Anyone who is unapologetically Muslim is suspected from being a terrorist. It has become exceedingly hard to get up there.
How can there be more "Muslim" intellectuals in a environment in which they are not relevant - If a society has come to accept that a particular religion does not have relevance to their lived experience, what audience can a "Muslim" intellectual hope to attract other than those who find the message of Islam compelling - you know the old saying " You can lead the horse to water, but you can't make them drink" -- Muslims anywhere, are a very diverse group of people, not some monolith, their larger issue is to be comfortable with each other, to do business with each other, to lend to each other and to marry with each other, otherwise they are not really "Muslim of Europe" but are more accurately described as segregated distinct communities that are easy to isolate and keep powerless, a permanent underclass.
the trouble in France is more than just the lack of muslim intellectuals. It's the lack of intellectuals, full stop. The ones invited in the mass media are always the same. They are said to be specialists in every field out there... and they have been for the last 20 years.
In Germany media choices munafiq speakers and personalites with conscience. You can't see practising Muslims in TV or Newspaper. You only will see Muslims, who call themselves 'liberal' and talking like puppets
I grew up in India and spend 24 years there before coming to Germany in 2013. Islamophobia in India is systematic, social, political bureaucratic and of course very open. In Germany Islamophobia is subtle, very obvious if you are visible Muslim or non-visible but are from Arab countries or Turkey etc. Once you leave big metropolitan in Germany, staring eyes, slurs and different treatments in schools is very obvious.
I’d say France and other European countries are wayyyyy better for Muslims than India. In India they openly commit atrocities and crimes against Muslims and nothing happens to culprits. Very sad tbh.
Your observations are very astute and accurate about both countries. My family in India has to be very guarded about exposing the hatred and discrimination rampant in India. Germany does have some reverts to Islam, but overall there is hostility that is more overt than subtle. I see much more hope for immigrant-origin Muslims living in UK, because Islam is attracting huge numbers of native Brits, who are on track for becoming a sizable minority.
How ungrateful and dishonest you are talking about India where muslim rights are gauranteed by constitution, central and state funding foe muslims , reservations and other facilities.....shameful......
😅 Silly as fuck , they are without Islam now ! Look what future is awaiting you without Islam , LGBT, Transgender, feminism , social corruption, Depression, alcohol, drugs, suicidal thoughts, Soul emptiness, ! How about Islam doesn't need you,! You need Islam 🌺
Just heard the discussion/ interview. Once again thank you so much mate, it was excellent. Request; are you able to have professor Ramadan on again and maybe have a dedicated talk about muslim unity?
One of the most interesting and intelligent human being I have ever listened. Tariq, brother we have missed you. I feel guilty not being there when you needed us most, but I knew that you were going through Sunnah of scholars. Good to hear you again . Always on the point 👉 👈 👇 👌
I just wanted to say regardless of the controversies; Tariq Ramadan has been the leading intellectual for Muslims for years. As a thinker, no one came close to him. At one point in time I would have called myself a "Ramadanian". There was a massive void that was created when he was forced out of the scene. I'm very happy to see his recent presence again in English, but there's much work we need to take from the starting foundation that he was attempting to lay (that is, understanding the current situation as a global one; which can help cultivate a vision for Muslims in the West). His critical voice in laying a starting point is far more important than people understand it today. It hasn't helped that his status in the Muslim community has fallen, but for keen intellects it's essential to have an understanding of his work and formulate discourses as a starting point from it. It's not about the person, but the idea and message.
@@user-on8jx3qr8w: God did not say that intellectual will not err or they are angels on earth . None of human beings are perfect. As Muslims we have to strive for acheiving God conscienceness and its a process until the last breath. Don't publicise others aberrations. Prophet Muhammad pbuh said ,Allah sbwt loves those who hides their brethren slips & faults. And Insha Allah in turn Allah sbwt promised to hide our omission on the day of judgement.
Wow I love this collaboration between both of you! Living in France and already familiar with Dr Tariq and his debates with right-wing channels (Where he always takes on 3 or more Islamophobes/xenophobes and easily make them look like amateurs). What I love the most is that no presenter speaks French as beautifully as he can, and seeing that he has the same level in English is very impressive. Not only a great mind but a very eloquent one as well. What a man!
How's that..? Do you mean the Balkan region...? I see it blessed in Balkan region, the reformation period in central Europe was brutal Most of the Balkan people will be killed by it if for not for Ottoman empire
@@ibrahimmohammedibrahim9273 The Muslim world occupied the Iberian peninsula and part of souther France for 800 years, they occupied for 300 years, the Ottomans periodically invaded Europe murdering, enslaving, torturing as they went, until the Europeans forced them out, the Barbary slave trade enslaved at least 1.25 million Europeans, and the Muslims world imposed extortionate taxes on European goods trade West to East. In fact much of the the Muslim world relied on putting extortionate taxes on Western and East Asian goods, in other words exploiting the labour of Westerners and East Asians. When Europeans established maritime trade routes with East Asia, it cut the Muslims world out and many Islamic societies began to rapidly decline. The Ottomans murdered, tortured, enslaved and genocided Europeans. Thank god the Ottomans were defeated. You have been taught a disgusting distortion of history if you think the Ottomans were in any way a good thing for Europeans. We need to ensure the Muslim world is taught that they are the historic oppressors of the West not the other way around.
@@suburbanyobbo9412 You're the one with a distorted version of History. Empires and conquests are literally the History of the whole world, full point. The way you describe the muslims as if christians among themselves were just quiet and peaceful elves singing gospel together meanwhile muslims were just evil orcs disturbing the peace is just ridiculous. And it was the other way around for the simple reason that when Europe managed to invade muslim lands and colonize it, they imposed the biblical way of enslaving people which is evil by default and cannot be compared to islamic slavery. The standards are literally two worlds apart.
Once upon a time UAE was pure Islamic country look at now Temple and Churches are being built . Look at Saudi Arabia . Once upon a time even the Christians of Europe were religious people like Muslims of today . Their countries were ruled by religion . There has been a time of before Islam and there will be an after Islam like rest of the religions . Nothing against Islam but what I am saying is about law of nature and time . Change is inevitable .
Regardless what he has done he still is a professor in his field. He has extremely good sociological economical and social and political perspectives that are important to understand.
So insightful and elaborate. Thank you two from the bottom of my heart to address some issues that was very illusive among our generations. The way you two discuss and clarifies is astonishingly very very good.
Maasha'Allah,TabarakAllah! The Professor has spoken with a high degree of HIKMAH. Yes, there is a reason why Muslims are in the Western World, as Allah(swt) doesn't DECREE for no reason. We are in the Western World to Invite to the TRUE Religion of God, Enjoin Good and Forbid Evil. This is what our generation is being tested with by our presence here, and will be held to account for. Insha'Allah, when Westerners embrace Islam in their droves, there is nothing these Secularists can do about it.
Very important talk. Thank you. Ramadan is very rightly talking about being a consciencious muslim, spreading the knowledge of what it means to have Allah in our lives, fantastic, the essense of Islam. Alhamdulillah, Islam will not perish, EVER,Allah is al Al Ahad Assamad, but it is the duty of all muslims, practicing or not, to fight for Islam, in what ever big or little way we can. And we must try to implement that Godpresens back into european society again. Making Islam a gift, stop being defensive about it. We must equip ourselves with knowledge, as Tariq Ramadan is saying, 26:07 knowing the history, listening to the politics, give answers to the questions we get from the people that are now asking critical questions.
@RodioXYZ. My father came to the UK in 1961 from Ghana and studied as a nurse. He met my Mum at nursing college and they got married. My mother's family disowned her for marrying a Black man. My father died many years ago. My mum will be 80 soon. Both of them dedicated their entire lives to healing people. From the moment my father arrived here, he had people telling him to leave. From the moment I was born, I had people telling me to go back to where I came from. 60 years on, I'm still hearing it from people like you. Maybe my father should have listened. Maybe I should listen. At some point, you've just got to realise, this isn't your country and never will be. My daughter would pass for white, has never heard that once in Ghana.

Wasn't it France that so influenced the Young Turks culminating in the end of the Ottoman empire and the eventual demise of the caliphate? Hoping as I listen further to hear some reference to Turkiye compared with France's descent into secularism. Sounds much like what is affecting present day Türkiye contrary to what Erdoğan has been trying to promote as a return to religion.
But Islam will spread all over the world eventually with the Mahdi & return of Prophet Isa ( peace be upon him). Even now you see more & more westerners reverting to Islam & Christianity declining. Change is coming slowly. Even the current Palestine crisis is making non- muslims want to learn more about Islam, Insya Allah
I'm quite impressed with your knowledge of French History and politics, Paul. For those who didn't experience living in France 10 years ago, I'm sure that you don't realize how big of an influence Tariq Ramadan's voice had on French muslims, and how much of an impact it had as well within French political debates surrounding the Laïcité and those liberticidal laws targetting us. He was also the (only ?) defender of the palestinians in the french media scene. I don't want to talk about what happened to him because I don't want to expose what's already been exposed, but that which happened was really tragic for our community because after he was literally destroyed publically, those who detain the media (and who are obviously extremely pro-zionist) made sure to never ever allow another pro-palestinian figure in the media. French media is 100% pro-zionist right now, the only pro-palestinians who aren't banned from the media are politicians of the far-left who are being ridiculed without being invited on their shows on this particular topic. On the political field, it's even worse. The last reasonable political figure who was in power was probably Dominique de Villepin (under Jacques Chirac). Since then (Sarkozy, Hollande, Macron) it's been 100% pro-zionist.

I don't expect less Islamophobia or whatever but atleast more people to wake up. To investigate more and stop swallowing the news. The narrative of the Zionist on mainstream media is coming to an end. The Truth always prevails.

I got a lot of bad looks in Portugal wearing my hijab, especially on the plane there and the customs officers on arrival were holding their breath looking at me. I wore a white hijab and a black abaya, could pass for a nun. So sad to see the ignorance around especially in countries that were once part of the Islamic empire and don't even know their own histories.

Why does Quran 8:12 say "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve So strike above the necks and strike off every fingertip of theirs”?
I am from Germany - and I am far not the only one thinking, that the state has no right to tell you that you have dress less than modest! I'd prefer more people to wear more clothes than they actually do: Why do I have to look at naked parts of a body whom I do not know any further? As far as my neighbour can accept that I am christian, I do not mind him being muslim or jewish or else.
Time is running out. I think all Muslims should eventually start making plans to leave Europe. Many Muslims in Europe are working class and poor and find it tricky to reach higher status. From other side, there is increasing hostility and resentment towards Muslims making genuine efforts harder. The general trend is right wing and nationalism especially as the economic hardships are increasing for Europeans and populism is increasing. In the long run, I think it will be good for all if Muslims left and contribute to development of their ancestral homeland.
It's honestly a tragedy that those good, hard working and humble Muslims get side lined because of the actions of the bad ones, naturally if you're a foreigner in any land you will be met with atleast a small yet continuous sense of suspicious observation. All in all, as history shows, humans are more than happy to continue to keep mucking up something good.
I am so glad to see brother, professor Tariq Ramadan, finally released from prison. I was pretty saddened, and continuesly prayed for his safety. John L, former president of Liberia, who was invited to France, after he defeated the French colonisers, and starved him, to death. I thought, Professor Tariq Ramadan, may not come out of jail. When, they failed to debate him, based on intellectual tone, they censor him, and eventually jailed. Thank you brother, for inviting professor Tariq Ramadan. May ALLAH, reward you, your noble work. Colonialism racism is alive and kicking.I find that France is obsessed with muslims however the limited liberal democratic values that underpin our societies can also be used to fight for our rights. As Muslim we are intelligent and very diverse and have a lot of economical power!
So the future is the past? Some say history is linear, others imagine it to be be circular, then others don't agree it exists at all, it's just the same form repeating itself but can it be that history is the results if trying to solve problems, which in time and turn leads to new problems?
