Father Mike, I look forward to your homilies. They are always thought-provoking. You have a real talent for helping the Lord’s word make sense. This helps the ordinary person come to a closer relationship with Jesus. I pray that God will bless you and keep you healthy and safe.

There’s so much to worry about in this age of craziness! I know Jesus called worry “useless”. I know he said “peace be with you a lot”. I always pray for peace.

Father, you lead by word and example. The readings were an exhortation to live without fear. You showed us what that means in real time by fearlessly telling the truth to a world ensnarled in deception. Thank you.

Do Not Be Afraid: Matthew 10:26-33: This is a Gospel reading that talks about Jesus Sending His Apostles to Preach the Kingdom of God to a World full of Hostility. Jesus Repeated 3 times "Do Not Be Afraid" as He knew very well the Weaknesses and Strengths of the People He is Sending. In the Contemplative Tradition the Spirit Speaks in ways your Soul can Understand Invisible to the Prying Eyes of Evil. We Believe in God Who is Omnipotent - The Creator of the Universe - and of Everything We See and Can Not See. Thank You Rev. Mike O'Connor & God Bless.

Fr .Thank you for reading that doctrine. I have recently converted to Catholicism and have a gay son and lots of dear friends that are gay. I have struggled and cojouled and been agonizing over the whole subject I have been very afraid and cried a lot of tears and had sleepless nights and prayed and prayed and prayed. Have not been able to approach any one in or out of the Catholic church about this and felt very alone. I knew in my heart of hearts that it was my journey of faith and I would have to get my head around it if I wanted to be true and follow my Jesus. Today as I listened to your sermon I have been given the keys.

Sin is THE barrier and separation to God, to others, and to our very own souls. Sin is a prison with impenetrable titanium bars and a lock without a key. A heavy heavy jailer! And as my sins pile upon sins my relationship with God others and myself darken and separate my soul. He has the key! The WAY to heal my soul!

Father, with all due respect, I suspect the teaching on the Church’s stance might be changing or should I more carefully say, evolving. In light of the Synod on Synodality which will be discussing the issue of blessings of same-sex monogamous unions over the next year, may I propose this line of thinking for your consideration. While the cause of homosexuality is not yet known, experts now widely agree that homosexuality is a natural variation of human sexuality, rather than a conscious choice made by individuals. This understanding challenges the Catholic understanding that homosexual acts are a sin in and of themselves. If this is the case, that homosexuality is a natural variation of human sexuality, then homosexuality is no different than heterosexuality. It could be ruled that homosexual activity outside of “marriage” or “civil unions” is a grievous sin in the same way fornication and adultery for heterosexual couples is, but within the confines of a loving, monogamous, permanent relationship, is no different than heterosexual love? There is no grievous attempt to offend God in this type of relationship. No desire to commit sin. As for the procreative element of this, the Church provides dispensation for infertile couples to marry recognizing that "it is through no fault of their own" they are unable to have children naturally. I suspect many will be surprised by the conclusions reached at the end of the synod. The time for inclusion seems to be at hand. Many are concluding that mercy will trump hard sayings.

I suspected this was what the SOS was really all about. I told others that the SOS is asking everyone to submit their opinion on what needs to be changed in the Church because they are then going to tabulate and use those responses to support their agenda to make the changes they had in mind from the start. A shameless ploy and SOS should really stand for Scam On the Spiritual. Who are these "experts?" What guides their "expert opinion?" Are we to let what some people think are "experts" void the word of God and longstanding Catechism of the Church? What other things in the bible and the catechism are we going to let "experts" tell us to change? To say we know better than what the bible and catechism teaches, is a terrible sin of pride.
