I’m 60 years old, purchased a new road king FLHR 2019…. I ride stock bike with Stage 1 kit. Not aggressive rider here at all… 2-up mostly, this bike has approximately 27,000 miles on it and it is gone to the shop every fall after roughly 10,000 miles each year (3 years) for extensive repair. Extensive repairs including full engine teardowns and transmission. If you purchase a new Harley Davidson you will rest assured need your extended warranty.
@@bobrose3298 what I find most amazing, is the fact that my extended warranty in another five years, is extendable. Have you ever seen that happen on anything other than Harley? They said they’ll warranty it as long as it’s under 100,000 miles. In my limited knowledge and expertise, I would say just building a quality product right off of the assembly line might be beneficial? Don’t you think?
@@jeffreyengle2762 no, I haven't, and I used to be in the car business. Extended warranties were not extendable. It's great that Harley offers this. More people should take advantage of it.
My new Sport Glide came with this yr with 2+2 yrs warranty (EU) After 3 months i get an email that offers 1 yr extra (€?). I traded this new machine in after 4 months for a pre owned RKS ‘18 with 1 yr warranty. I had put a set Red Thunder pipes on it, and it was ok with the warranty rules…..
Funny that I just found this video. Last month I traded my 2018 Heritage 107 for a CPO 2021 Road King Special. My heritage had 5k miles and the RKS had 2800 bone stock and got one hell of a deal. This was the first time I ever did a CPO Harley, but it was a great thing for me. I ride my scoots as daily drivers, and the RDRS is so nice on them wet days. So far only did Rinehart 4.5 DBX slips, 12" KST bars, Custom Dynamics LEDs and 16" LRS windshield. Love this bike.
Wow, that's awesome. I couldn't be happier with my RKS. I recently did a 10,000 mile review video. I really enjoyed my Heritage, but this bike is amazing. Thanks for watching. I really appreciate it.
What !!!!! 2018 5000 mile daily driver !!!! You are not a rider !!! You are an owner 😊😊😊😊😊 I have over 16000 miles on my Ducati, THIS YEAR !!!! can you do a story on the size of your T shirt drawers!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
My son bought an great looking Electra Glide ultra with low miles and a warranty, he's put maybe a thousand miles on it since he bought it and the rest of the time it's been in one shop after another for repairs, meanwhile I continue to ride my 1 owner 36 year old Honda Shadow 1100 which has never needed repairs and remains 100% reliable. I'll never be convinced to buy an overpriced noisemaker that will nickle and dime me to death
I went to trade in my 2020 iron 883 (my first motorcycle) and wanted a 2016 low rider with a 103 HO engine, less than 5k miles, and a stage 1, sounded and rode fantastic! Then I rode a M8 for the first time. 😍WOW! I didn’t want the slim or the street bob and thought about a fat bob, but after riding the low rider S I was hooked. I had to have that bike. If I’m paying this kind of money, then I’m getting the bike I really want. Being a new bike I actually got an excellent rate and although the overall price was more, the monthly payments were drastically lower than the 2016 dyna because of the better rate, and it’s a far better motorcycle (IMO). Anyway, I’m very pleased.
That's awesome! I just did a video this morning about selecting the right bike. I'm glad you got what you really wanted, and that low rate is great too. Funny story...the last 4 times my wife and I bought a new Harley, they had special low rates the following week. Fortunately we have good credit, and got decent rates, but to be that close!!!!!!! Hey man, thanks for watching! I really appreciate it. Check out some more of my videos!
@@BobsGarage1 Yes sir, I subbed your channel just a few weeks ago. I like your content. There’s more this motorcycling stuff than just videos about the latest bike. 👍
Good information! Liked and subbed. Consider a Freedom Shields windshield. I've had 4 windshields for my RKS and Freedom Shields are where it's at. (No, I don't work for them lol) 🤘
"So you're not sacrificing anything if you go through Harley Davidson Financial..." Well, except your dignity... You save thousands?.... Hey, you can upgrade the warranty! LOL!
I got a 2009 883 XL Sportster from a Harley Davidson dealer and I got the loan from Harley and I got a used bike and it's still like new because it has only 193 miles on it
What can happen in 15 miles? Seller advertised; "Only has 15 miles on the odometer!" "A grandma owned it to ride to the store and back!" In reality it was drag raced 60 times on 1/4 mile track! (60runs×.25miles=15miles) (In which that, could damage a big list of things! ) I know that the younger generations of today, want a fast bike! But no grandma is going to use it to go to church on Sunday, much less buy a sportbike, and take it easy! (The grandson mostly rode it) A sportbike is going to be ran the "shirt out of" from the start. A Harley has decent amount of torque! (That can be felt while riding!) If you are not smart, or mechanically inclined, don't buy a Harley!!..lol..!! (And as a last thing to say; "I love my Harley Road King Custom FLHRSI")
Added warranty is stupid look at what you paid for the warranty and then look at what the cost is to rebuild the engine or the trans often times you can rebuild the engine or the trans for less than what you paid for the thing in the first place it’s a gimmic to rip you off because most people can’t add the only way the warranty pays off is if the entire engine has to be replaced like the case cracks and can’t be rebuilt. Just had an engine completely went through new everything for $3,100 look at what you extended warranty cost
@@jeffreyengle2762 I own an 2008 Goldwing and a 2017 Kawasaki Versys 1000 and now i have the bug of wanting a Harley Davidson Heritage Classic, but after all these comments i think i might just stay metric.
I have an 01 HDSTC.......worked my hiney off to own this bike outright. Bingo, have customized to suit me.......i know bike is worth 8k.........HD only offered me 2800 as trade?.....i will never sell this bike cause it is a one-off, no other like it......if you let a former german CEO german shoe salesman dictate an American Icon........?.damn all of you....enough with MCs killing, enough activist BS that's going to strangle gov for tens, if not, hundreds of years ....to decide who has a right to actually live on this planet
do not buy a new Harley! they are virtually unsupported in parts and service. If you like your bike to be at a service station for a year while Harley claims it can't find parts but won't put on readily available after market parts and you just like owning a Harley in name go ahead. my last bike was a 71 shovelhead and is 50k better than anything harleys put out since. I had well over a half a million miles one my bike .this pice of shit roadking I've got now has less than 25 k on it and is again waiting for ecm work. look for an old motor and frame and build a bike , it'll be yours and better than any of this new shit Harley puts out.
@Thomas B this turned out to be just signature harley Davidson . they rip off everybody conming threw the door. I pulled the bike from them took it someplace eles and they fixed it in 12 minutes.
Last November I bought a new bike ( RGL ) and financed it through HD financial. Last month I bought a second new HD ( Street Bob ) and my local bank gave me a lower interest rate after all the recent rate hikes than HD financial did last year. My credit score is 833. I thought at the time the HD financial rate was high. I was out of state and I really wanted the RGL so I went with it. HD financial has many bad reviews. I refused to use them on my second bike and wont use them in the future.
