@@andrewpotts Ah yes, they need to have conducted a comprehensive scientific study that identifies the effect of their product on EVERY PERSON IN EXISTANCE before selling their product. Because the average person can totally afford to hire at team of qualified researchers for that kind of study and not go bankrupt instantly. This is why government organizations like the FDA exist. Even they are not gods and can't know everything. This expectation that everything you eat is 100% safe is naïve at best.

Why'd they get arrested tho? They didn't know what would happen and the Elephant paid. They knew that they were doing something not done ever before. It's not Wario and Waluigi's fault that the fruit had that effect on the poor guy. They didn't know what would happen, and I assume they did what any good person would do and help the guy get the power up out of him cause that looked painful- they shouldn't be arrested for a mishap they didn't even know would happen

At worst, they'll still be brought to court over this because they let the customers experiment like that. (To be fair, everyone else turned into elephants and Crash only lost the hair on his hair. So they were expecting something silly.) At best, they'd get something of a slap on the wrist and a reminder to let people know about those dangers.
