There's also the part in the third movie where Gru's brother asks about Margo's age and guesses 15, to which Gru angrily replies "She's twelve, ok? And she will always stay twelve!"
@@maximoescoI want a sence in despicable me 4 were gru and grus mother really start bonding together and they like have a dance party and shit and grus mother really likes dancing with gru and that makes her love gru and want to spend time with him more and she's like oh yeah now this is fun gru yeah this make me wanna say to gru that I love you and I wish I was a better mother

@@brurmonemt grus a good man he's a good guy he was only evil because he was unloved but deep down he's a good dad and guy that cares about his people d
I'm guessing the world survived because it was only gone for less than a day. I think Gru and Dr. Nefario probably figured out how long the world would last without the moon because they were originally going to ransom it.
Realistically speaking even if the earth could go without the moon for a day, there's no way vector's rocket randomly shooting out into space would've put it back into it's proper stable orbit, nor would it even have had the speed needed to get the moon away fast enough at the rate it was growing. The moon would've fallen back or grown to full size right in earth's upper atmosphere, wiping out all life on the planet right then and there.
The thing I always had a problem with is that the kids IMMEDIATELLY start calling Lucy "mom" but they never call Gru "dad" even tho he's been in their lifes longer...
Funny thing is my siblings and I did this as kids. We called our dad by his real name, but called our mom "mommy". He was not a divorced or step dad, but our actual birth dad. In our case it was because my oldest sister witness his coworkers calling him by his name when she was really little, and the name stuck.
My theory is that since parents always see their kids as, well, kids. Its not that they don't age, but that he still percieves them that way. And since he's the protagonist we see things from his perspective.
I watched the first 3 minutes of the rise of Gru and it completely retconned the first movie and destroyed all the deeper meaning. The lore does not matter in this franchise. In rise of Gru he WANTS to grow up to be a villain. That's his new reason for wanting to steal the moon. Not because he's always admired astronaughts, or to prove his mother or society wrong the only way he knows how, or to fill his life of cynicism and emptiness. Now, it's just because villains are cool💀. Not to mention they retconned the origin of the minions for that other terrible minion movie.
Gru's mum changed because she possibly felt quilty for neglecting her son. Like she failed as a mother, but she can try to fix it as a grandma. The fact that she quickly accepted the girls as family, not that gru is a failure and claims random children as his.
No ones talking about how gru was 8 in 1968 but 11 in 1976 And also if vector is supposed to be in his 20's and gru is meant to be in his 50's in Despicable Me how is vector alive when gru is 11?
It's probably a case of the parent always seeing his children as his babies, so although they probably do look older, in his eyes they look the same ever since he met them
I think they will age them in a future film because it’s too good of an idea. Gru having to deal with the stress of them growing up and getting married and leaving would be fun to see and him accepting it.
Yeah rise of gru needs to be thrown out of canon because it contradicts everything else in every other movie in the franchise. I don’t expect cartoons to make sense but if you give me a time line you better stick to it. It was your choice to add the years in there Illumination.
They aren't aging because modeling new GORLS would cost money, and they already have GORL models from the other films. They probably just didn't care about it because it's a movie
I don't think the ending shows very good proof. Many parents say that to their children (or at least my mom does), and they don't give their children some anti-aging drug...
Bro I thought the same thing when I saw the trailer. I literally said “buddy, how are the kids the same age? And there’s a baby too? That’s not how aging works” 💀😭
I clicked on this video expecting to be some Alex Bale theory video but turned out to be a video to remind me that Despicable Me 1 will always be the best one out of the whole series
They’re not ageing because they’re birthday is on 29th💀💀💀 Edit: 68 likes in 2 days that fast, but I swear if will make it into 1 billion in next year I wouldn’t be surprised.
Imagine if Agnes were to grow up to become a villain and then Gru changes her heart and she becomes good again. If done well I think it could be great.
That would actually be a pretty good and funny reason as to why they don't age It combines his Villain and Father sides together to create a sweet on the surface, but downright messed up concept the more you think about it Maybe in a future installment this could be a plot point
DM4 will show them getting older. Just not physically lol. We see Agnes’s start rebelling against Grus requests and we can see in some trailers that Margo is getting anxious and stuff. Illumination just kept their designs the same, but in reality they are getting older. Hope that helps lol
I think the movies take place in the span of a year or two, but I think that there will be a huge time jump eventually. My own headcanon is that the movies take place in 3-6 months of each other. That is just my own theory. I don’t know though.
Also at the end of the 1st movie where Margo has fully accepted Gru as her father she hugs him and tells him she loves him, Gru at first looks shocked, probably didnt get a lot of hugs or affection when he was her age, but he still hugs her back and tells her: i love you too. Its insane how much Gru has developed in the first movie. I feel like what makes Gru such a loving father is that he wasnt loved himself and he doesnt want them to feel like they need to prove him they mean someting to him by stealing, causing problems and becoming powerful like he had to do just to get noticed by his own mother.
I always assume Despicable Me is set in a comic book timeline like the first movie is set in 2010, and the next one is not set in the year of the movie's release, but a year or months after that. The third and fourth movies may be still set in the 2010s, not the 2020s.
@@edba1.037 yes. Each takes place a year after the others. he was 11 in 1976 I think. So he's about 55 in despicable Me 1, I think. 56 in the second film, in 57 in the third film. Is canonically 58 in the 4th film. He is almost 60.
@@Candjstudios2024 He should be 45 in Despicable Me, the movie was released in 2010, I will assume the year is the same. According to the character lists on the Illumination website, Gru is 11 years old in Minions 2, which would mean Gru was born in 1965. He's nearly 50 years old, not 60.
@@CollisionPlayz So...? People want to earn money on the things they do, so why shouldn't they? You watch it for free and can exit anytime, so why complaining as if it was something wrong? Braindead mentality.
The first time I watched Despicable Me was when I was little. My sister switched on a channel, and I asked "What's this movie about?" And my sister replied "It's a cool movie." Never doubted her, and she was right.
I was on mobile and i didnt click on the comment section but i saw this comment below the vid and i said ,,who said that" when i read it and i immediately went to find it and like it
I really love your videos man‼️ Ever since all of the spongebob videos I could not stop watching. I was wondering if you could do some content around regular show like “the best regular show episode”
It obviously works on comic book aging. Peter Parker stays in school, the Simpsons kids never grow up. And it was never about having the moon, it was just about being able to get it. Quite literally the rocket we built along the way.
Well if you have watched the minions you would see in the rise of Gru the doctor and gru knew of each other since gru was a kid starting off as a villain helping him escape from the villainess six
I love this theory and it makes sense, I would not be surprised if Gru did that, but the fact that Gru told Agnes to not grow up it’s not the best way to confirm the theory, it’s very common for parents to tell their kids to not grow up, Gru was just being a parent in that scene, great video tho, you did a great job explaining everything and going straight to the point
i played it just now and its fun, however i feel the movement should be quicker. you could add e to roll maybe a dash and even a sprint feature. another thing (sorry lol) is that the lobby is massive and theres not much to do, you could impliment a small obby which gives then 5 bucks each time. other than that the game has potential. goodluck!
Theory 3, it's just easier to use an existing 3D model instead of making a brand new one. It's why Margo, Edith & Agnes are the same. Their designs have never changed because they've been using the same models since DM1. It's likely to save time and cut corners. It's not as farfetched when you think about it. Like, imagine how much time it takes for the animators to animate the Minions. Other examples I can think of are the Incredibles 2, the Cars Franchise, Toy Story, basically any franchises where the characters don't 'age'. It's just easier to use the existing models instead of aging them up.
Im not sure if this is true or not but the three main minions in the spin off movie,Kevin, Stuart and Bob were inspired by the three girls and their personalities
Maybe there is a thing in the despicable me universe where there is like an illness that u get when ur born where u stop aging and all 3 girls have it for some reason
Imagine ...JUST imagine, lets say that, as we see in the trailer, the 3 girls indeed haven't changed a bit, making them the same age as the 1st movie. WHAT IF in the beginning of the movie, we see the girls having the same age and gru treating them as such, but at a certain point in the movie, one of the girls (let's say Margo) tells him that she is not 12 years old anymore and then, in the movie, a grown up Margo is shown, so about 15 y/o. What I'm trying to say it's that it's a PERSPECTIVE THING. Gru doesn't want them to grow up, as most parents wouldn't with their own children. So we see the girls from Gru's perspective and the little pitch I did at the beginning would make them grow up in meaningful manner. Okay... brain steaming, too much overthinking... ..
It may seem crazy, BUT they are actually cartoon characters. You see, if you open your eyes and look, you see that they are not real. Hopefully this explained it, have a good day! 😘
this video was so off topic due to the whole explanation of there dad- daughter love and not the age thing, but it was so much more entertaining than the original concept 😭
I saw in their wiki page that each girl has two numbers in their age box, implying that they aged a little bit. And Margo’s jaw line looks different from the first movie
Yeah when I saw the 4th trailer and aaw the girls STILL hadn't aged much at all physically, I thought "So.. Gru stopped/slowed down their aging right?? Cuz THIS is getting ridiculous 😭😭😂'
