As watch addicts, we are looking for a miracle, but do not confuse an amazing watch with a miracle watch.

Well my definition of being an addict is having watches in your collection worth 5 grand but still looking at watches and occasionally buying one when you go to Walmart.

Im definitely insane. My wife can attest to this. I’m addicted for sure! Zero will power when something comes out and I’m too lazy to sell some of the watches I don’t wear that often knowing I’ll just take a hit flipping them.

I shouldn’t leave this comment… as a fellow watch obsessive (who also watched HR Puffnstuff as a kid), I can attest that there is no such thing as a miracle watch. It’s a fable. A fantasy. Great content Jeff!

Searching for a miracle watch is like searching for a miracle food. Watches are like food to a watch addict. We can technically survive for several days without food, much like we can (allegedly) survive for a few days without wearing a watch. But searching for the one miracle watch is like searching for one miracle food. Even if such a food did exist, we would rather have variety! Variety is the only way to meet all of your nutritional needs, and variety is the only possible way for us to meet our watch needs. When we have a nutritional deficiency, we take nutritional supplements. This too is where food and watches are alike because watch addicts often require supplementation. So thank you, McMahon, for nutritional supplement videos like this that help to keep us alive until our next big watch meal!

Thanks to your channel, I've found my niche in watches. I was in the homage phase with chinese copies of swiss watches until I got a 62mas Homage. That along with your channel have steered me towards the Seikos I truly love and wear today. Also I'm a little dissapointed you kept the Willard after saying it was boring. That comment is one of the reasons I got the vintage colored Willard and I love it to bits. Thanks for everything, Professor.

I’m going to have to see but after decades of collecting watches, for now anyway, my miracle watch is my King Turtle. Honestly I am wearing it ALL the time. I put on one of my other watches, which includes a vintage submariner and I keep coming back to my King Turtle. So comfortable, amazing Seiko lume, sapphire crystal with anti-reflection coating, and it’s keeping +5 seconds a day accuracy! I don’t know I shouldn’t be saying this, but this could be my miracle watch! On top of that I got it for under $400 brand new.

I have a dark manta ray King Turtle, and I agree, what a beautiful watch. Best dial I can imagine. But still, I recently bought the SPB 147 gold shown in this video. Love that too. Too many great watches out there!!

Watches are a (relatively) recent passion of mine, and I've already found that the chase is a lot more fun than the "kill". I don't know if a Miracle Watch exists, and I think I'd be doing something futile if I tried to tell myself that it does.

I lusted for years over the matte dial, matte ceramic bezel, full matte bracelet Oris Aquis 39.5mm. I finally picked it up 2 years ago and it was my most expensive watch. I bought a Sinn 556A-RS last year and I want to get a Laco Flieger Pro A dial in 37mm as well. But honestly I’ve mostly bought cheaper watches around the $500 mark. I love all the aforementioned watches but they’re not as good value as the aforementioned entry level luxury watches (based on the enjoyment I get wearing them). Even cheap watches like the Seiko SKX007 or Citizen NY0040 still get me excited when I strap them on the wrist. I was afraid I’d only buy more expensive watches in the future but that hasn’t been the case. I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing? Sometimes I wish it stuck to more affordable watches. If I was just starting out now I’d probably only buy micro brands as I think most of them offer the best bang for the buck in terms of specs for an affordable price.

I was a watch addict, may be still am, last watch I bought was a close to new 6306 and marinemaster sbdx017 and and orange sumo. It may have cured me, the x in the new prospex just throws me off

Jeffrey, I have got some Seikos as well and totally get what you are talking about. Man, that SLA055 is just fantastic and could be my next watch. Hopefully it's not that miracle watch though, because then the whole watch hunt thing would come to an end. Great content.

I love the beauty and craftmanship of watches- I have a small collection of watches that I enjoy wearing and conversations start when people see them. I don't have high end expensive watches because I have better stuff to buy with that type of money.

Bloviated-that’s a great word. There’s no miracle watch for me. Love your SLAs, esp. the 055. I love to admire watches but don’t feel the need to own them. So I’m addicted to watch content but not watch purchases. Still hard to decide which of my amazing watches to wear…

I just purchased the SLA063 when I would of preferred the SLA051 but I got such a great price on a new SLA063 Aurora I couldn't turn it down. The SLA063 has such a bright dial that I know it'll be a niche or summer wear.. such a false economy because I know I will have to purchase the SLA051 at some point as well! The madness of a Seiko fan and watch collector.. I have a window into the problems you face.. It's never over..

The dial is a very different blue to the SBDC065, its hard to explain but i will give it a try - it has a more green blue tinge in some light or a very bright brilliant aquamarine blue. Definitely nice and quite different to most of the safe colours you'd find on a seiko diver dial but not as wearable as the sla051. If you get the opportunity, pick one up to take a look.@@JeffreyMcMahon

The miracle watch has to be so egregiously expensive, such a financially-uncomfortable decision, such an irrational purchase that it sates one's demonic hunger. Only under these conditions are the watch gods sated by the sacrifice. My miracle watch was a quartz. The price I paid was equivalent to the tuition fees for my M.A. degree 20 years ago.

You have to look at it this way, better quality heroin doesn't cure a dope fiend. It just makes them chase the dragon that much more😂 . When I bought my first" real luxury watch" it just made me want another, and another and another. .. An estimated $60k later I'm looking to buy another watch. I don't need one, but I want one.

Nice collecting of watches. Miracle watches? I have had many........for a few days only. Throw it in the box to wear others. Have to hide the favorites to use the others. Love the sla055. Have mine on a strapco bor vintage bracelet. Beyond stunning! We are going to disagree on the mm300 bracelet. I got a good fit on my sla059. It weight of the bracelet balances out the chunky monkey watch head. Works for me. On the flip side, I wear a sla039 on a bright orange dassari rubber strap. Works great also. Love orange on divers.

Great collection. I believe you need a watch for dress and formal events. Ive had a SARB for years and the “baby grand” simply fits. What would you add to your collection to cover formal events?
