I always thought it was weird that this boss is the only one with a mechanic that prevents a certain play style. I wish more bosses had unique mechanics. Even both forms of Iris is just trying to down him as fast as possible and avoid bullets and lasers
Billy Boom seems like he'd be really weak to just staying above him if he didn't have this, and maybe they figured giving him an instant kill that's fairly easy to avoid was a good way to do that. That way players actually have to engage with the rest of his moveset, but they get ample opportunity to avoid the instant kill.
@@MissehsJune ah that is true, I did, the first time I learned he could blow up, keep bouncing on his head and he really couldn't do anything about it.
We knew about this, but it was my first time using elementalist. And apparently if you set someone on fire, they stay on fire for 20 years. So yeah.. that was the ending of that run
Yeah don't play recon. I tried and BOOM. He's a mediocre character anyway and then he literally just loses the run if you try to use his one gimmick against this boss. Worst class by far.
I usually just shoot Billy Boom when playing as the teleporty-knifey-guy. Class gimmicks aren't required to work on every boss, it's what allows different classes to have strengths and weaknesses. And I'm more concerned with a class being fun over it being good.
@MistehTimmeh yeah, my problem is also that recon just isn't that fun. I feel like Ranger does exactly what Recon tries to but better aside from melee.
@iagomoura110 I know how to play him. It's that the way to play him is the same as guardian without a shield. He's mediocre at best. Ranger does crits better and Guardian does melee better. If you wanna play him be my guest but I'm just saying he's kinda terrible compared to everyone else.
