Another common mistake is not looking up egg moves before breeding. Most of the time it will make or break the pokemon, making them less viable in competetive if it doesn't have that egg move. A few examples of important egg moves; Mach Punch on Conkeldurr. Dragon Dance on Salamence. Nasty Plot on Togekiss.

Video is fresh enough that some people can use this extrar tip. Don't get 31 Attack IV on your Sp. Attackers, it actively makes them worst. Confusion (the status) deals damage based on your ATK vs your DEF, and Foul Play uses your ATK stat to determine damage. If a Mon doesn't use ATK, it's actually better if it has Zero.

Alright time for a epic breed fail tale It was about 3 am while I was breeding a perfect gengar i was at 5*31 when I accidently bred a litwick instead of gastly that cost me like 1.7m for a breed worth 400k 1.3 Loss

Ghost and Psychic types, as well as Glass Cannon archetype/weak defense pokemon tend to be affected by this the most in PVP. Foul Play can hit a lot of those mons hard by having the 31 ATK when it's not needed and create a situation where you could have a Pokemon who can check your mon where they otherwise wouldn't have as much leverage; or it being the difference between a OHKO vs a 2HKO. I'm a fan of Foul Play Mandibuzz because you really can get some unexpected kills if the player didn't take this into consideration in team building. Cofagrigus is a popular physical wall in OU and takes noticeably more damage from Foul Play with perfect 6IV's vs 5x31, 0 ATK. You want your wall to be as "wall-ish" as possible and this oversight can make a difference.

So here's a recent story about my firdt 5x31 breed. I decided to breed a 5x31 Jolly Sneasel simply because Weavile was one of my favourite Pokémon EVER. I got everything prepared, the breeders, the everstones, all the calculation done and even accidentaly got a particle mixed into the breed lol. I also had in my mind that I DIDN'T (I'll say again, DIDN'T) want to make it 100% perfect for PvP because I don't play any PvP at all and just wanted to have fun whilr breeding a cool Pokemon, especially after seeing so many 5x31 linked in the global chat... So while I bred it, it came out very nice, 5x31 except sp.atk, correct nature, just needed to evolve and train it. In my happines, I shared my newborn Sneasel in global chat, just to a CM come and say that "it needed Pursuit and Icicle Crash as egg moves". Now I said earlier that I wasn't thinking about PvP AT ALL. I knew about the egg moves but just wanted to breed without egg moves for more of a casual play... So yeah, that made me very mad and sad, even if it is a simple thing... But now I have a good and happy Weavile

One huge mistake no one ever mentions in new player guides is that dropping off your pokemon in the daycare doesnt have to do with breeding, you gotta talk to an old guy that only appears outside the day care AFTER the elite 4. Each times your pokemon levels in the daycares will cost you $1000 and i had no idea until an admin told me. So i lost 20k for two patrats i thought would be there for free. Its really dumb that they dont tell you before hand and can ruin everything.

Eevees in particular are an extremely expensive pokemon to breed. Where the females only have a 12.5% chance at spawning, breeding a female costs 21k

Personally, I always breed my Pokemon 6x31 regardless, just because if I have an IV that is not 31, I feel like I am loosing out.

Yeah, my first breed was an all 6 Mankey. It was more of a flex than anything.

I've got almost 300 hours into one account. I'm finally on the last region. But I've never went to breeding. I figured if I could grind for whatever pokemon I'm looking for and with some patience and luck, catch a pokemon with good IV's.

Just to let you know, foul play uses your opponent's atk, so, you just need 31 in all 3 defensive stat.

Could you do catching ghastlies or shuppets for 1 hr? Ghatlies for pvp and shuppet for amu farmer

Also, before breeding, check for egg moves, it has happened to me that I bred a 5x31 Marill, without Belly Drum & Aqua Jet

Even umbreon you don't want attack ivs, foul play deals damage based on your targets attack stat, not your own.

it's good for breeding for field mix attacker but ye there are only limited field mix attacker pokemons

So I have been thinking shouldnt hp ivs be a must for almost every pokemon to make it have more hp? Or am I thinking this in a wrong way

so does having that "unnecessary" 31 IV still raise its value or no? cause i would assume as much as not every pokemon is a mixed in terms of physical attack or special attack that say umbreon had foul play AND special attacks and such that 31 would make the one attack still do more yes? along with the other special attacks ofc

I like watching PSA videos like these that educate the community. Sadly a lot of PokeMMO (and Pokemon players in general) suffer from lack of common sense and don’t often know why they’re doing the things they do, but do them anyway. A lot of people also don’t breed for battling, but because 4/5/6x31 IV Pokemon look really nice, so they do it to be a bit of a completionist or to brag. I bet a lot of it is for Pokeyen, too. Either way, this was a good video and I’d like to see a “Mistakes new PokeMMO players make” type of series just like this!

I just started this game so this is great to know, but what if I just want to get all 6 IV’s to 31 because I want to perfect my Pokémon? I really like glaceon and wanna do that, but is it a bad idea to do all 6 just because it looks cool?

Are 31 ivs important in S.def and Def stats in Pokemons that are not walls and are used offensively ?

I almost just bred corphish to have 31 Special Attack and looking at the most expensive Crawdaunts, they all don't have 31 SpA and have movesets with just physical moves. I'm just not sure what gender to breed for if I am looking to sell?
