@@TheGuitarGeek I was wondering if you had tried any of the Ibanez Gio series with purple heart fretboards? What advice do you have for someone looking for a fretboard that both plays quickly and isn't COMPLETELY lacking any sort of real feel. I hope that makes sense? Take care, thanks for the content!
WOW Andy your presentation, ability and production is ...... paraProfessional! Beyond my wildest expectations mate. unFuckingBeleiveably good mate. looking forward to future productions.
Thanks - I always enjoy your videos, partly for the info, partly for your crazy but understated British sense of humor (I'm a Yank.) But the cat growl made me laugh out loud. Made my morning!
I was able to tell the difference between the three immediately through my laptop speakers correctly and without hesitation. The Strymon was clearly a digital device. The WW sounded much more open and clear. It might be a great partner with my '67 Showman that has no reverb.
Good video man. Specially fun, and informative, as per usual. Ah! And you kept the Jet offset ! Hehe Good on you. If that guitar had a carved/contoured neck heel, i would've bought it, a year ago. PS: i really like A / B sound comparisons.. Despite the RU-vid compression, one learns a lot.
Definitely sounds great and “amp like “ Can’t help thinking that it’s the sort of quality difference that the average punter listening would not notice . I already have a Flint and I do notice some deficits in clarity of the sounds Priced similarly in Australia Of the three the amp appealed to me the most.
I thought they all sounded good, but what I found interesting was that the digital Strymon, out of the three, sounded the most “uncontrolled”… like it was on the verge of runaway feedback. Now I don’t know if it was just louder, so the hollowness of the guitar was feeding back, or whether the Flynt reverb is prominent in certain frequencies that made the guitar want to feedback, or if it is an entirely digitally modeled part of the sound built into the effect. But it was interesting.
I didn't pause, but I was surprised by how much difference there was actually. That whale sounds really cool, and I'm curious now what it would sound like with a bass :D
I didn´t expect that at all. I prefered the sound of B. 2nd place for C and the last place for A because in my ears it sounds some kind of synthetic. I´m sorry.
I mixed up the flint and the white whale. My guessing was based on noise floor and not tone. Surprised the white whale noise floor was lower than the Flint. All sounded great IMHO.
I thought A was the White Whale, B the Fender amp and C the Strymon. So I got it wrong, but regardless, *in my opinion the White Whale still sounded the best out of the three,* with the actual Fender coming a close second and the Strymon a distant last. Which surprised me a little as I generally love Strymon pedals.
B's reverb had a similar openness of C, but sounded digital to me (both the reverb and tremolo). The tremolo sounded very identical with A and C. The only difference it seems was the openness of the reverb on C which was a bit better. Can the reverb on the White Whale be adjusted to sound more open like the Fender amp? I can't tell if it's because of the spring size difference or knob settings. Thanks for the review and comparison!
WOW Andy bro you actually played guitar and within the first 30 seconds with artistic capacitance!!!! Bro what happend to you? Henning gave you some lessons or you just finally found yourself musically? Not fucking with you mate just noticed the JUMP in musical ability and i fukin love it!!! Having a double for you mate cuz JeBuz and Jim Beam loves you mate(and i love you too but not in a GHeeey way) Keep up the good work bro!!!! P.S. WOW the James bond guitar and the surf guitar blew my mind while watcing this vid!!! Andy you are the MAN!!!
I have the topanga and the solid fx surfer 4 both different but great the white whale sounds ok as well but i prefer the ones i have, I did not like the tremolo on it at all, I use the boss tr2 keeley and a source audio Vertigo for that
1 outta 3 ain't bad. lol. I liked B the least and just assumed it was the White Whale cause I wasn't digging the trem in the demo. The Amp was pretty unmistakable, or maybe I just got lucky!
