When I was about 6 years old, my dad pulled out this verse. He said, 'the Bible says, "Children obey your parents", now go down the alley and bring me back those new trash cans the neighbors have sitting out." My reply, "but dad, it also says 'in the Lord'. Would Jesus tell me to steal the neighbor's trash cans?" Suffice it to say, I didnt steal the cans, and I didn't get a whoopin for disobeying my parent.
Wow, this was unbelievable. Father God thank you for this word. We need more like this for our children, I can't wait to let my daughter listen to this.
thank you Lord for saving us, thank you for your obedience that we could never accomplish without you and for showing us its worth, thank you for your promises that you always keep even though our limited perspectives don't always allow us to see it and thank you for your word that you gave us to guide us, console us, and lets us further know who you are, regardless of age we are all your children let us never forget and crave your obedience cause you already have given us eternity let gratitude be our motivator and not guilt, show us how to achieve it amen
My simple understanding in which i have the strongest conviction is this.; This is one of the pre requisite condition so that your life is made the longest fron here-> rebirth-≥ eternity in heaven. i.e. your life will be lengthened (extended )upto eternity.
"Do Obedient Children Always Live Long?" Kind Sir...'got a problem with the word "Always". For I'm sure that Paul's belief, is NOT always the case. Thus, I would say that he used his own judgment; rather than let Jesus inspire* the truth; the whole truth and nothing but the truth; into him. Which says Jesus is the ONLY "Fact Absolute". AMEN! Could I be wrong? ABSOLUTELY YES!. But "all" others could be wrong too. So, I put quotation marks around the word "all"; to give the example above. Thus I believe; that since there are SO many different doctrines; in the Christian World for 2,000 yrs; it is easy to use the word "all" loosely. Because, in essence, it is ALL!. But sometimes...Be careful. So the word "always", can be used correctly sometimes; when MOST fulfill his thesis. Except for the perfectionists (like me). lol! Incidentally: I will be 90 yrs old on April 5th; and I was disciplined; much more than what children are disciplined today. For most are not disciplined at all today. Sad, but oh so true. Not to mention that I have been a Born Again Christian; for 81 yrs. And I love Jesus with "all" my heart, soul and my mind. Praise His Holy Name...So Paul's belief comes very close... ...In any case kind Sir and Brethren, Please Pray OFTEN and Praise Jesus OFTEN; for He is the ONLY true "God Almighty"; there will ever have been. And may Jesus bless you and yours always. AMEN! * Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: But that is NOT true. Compare Deuteronomy 24:1 vs Mathew 19:3-8. And Mathew 1:1 vs John 8:58 and Mathew 22:41-45. And there are MANY more blatant contradictions; all over our bibles. Sad, but oh true. Believe it or not. Yet: Paul also wrote in 1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh (Jesus), justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. And that verse is the "truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth". Thus, pray often sincerely to Jesus; for "discernment"; BEFORE you ever open any bible. For if not; satan will cause you; to create yet another different doctrine; using your own discernment. Sad, but oh so true. For there is over 3,000 doctrines all different. And growing every day! How sad.
