These are some of the most beautiful cats I've ever seen! We had a ragdoll many years ago when the breed was relatively new. His name was Ringo. We thought his fur was like a rabbit's.

Also: Have you tried carrying them so that their hind paws are on your arms and their forepaws are up on your shoulder? I think that they are more comfortable when they feel like they have their footing, because then they have some kind of control of the situation. Sometimes I carry my cat around like that and bring her to things that are up high so she can look at them and sniff them up close - then being carried is an interesting and enriching experience, so she's not so opposed to it.
My baby, a very sizable 18 pound long haired Marmalade, would SHRED me if a "cuddled" him. One does not touch the Royal Person without consent, and then ONLY for a limited time. OR. ELSE.
My doll face persian she is so sweet and loves to cuddle that every time we get home she runs to the door to greet us and kiss our lips when we bend down to offer our lips to her and she will reach up to touch our lips with her lips or our nose to her nose. Then she will follow us all over the house . She only wants to sleep with us and never wakes us up in the morning unless we sleep very late and she is hungry. As soon as one of us wakes up she approaches us and we will cuddle her and she will purr like a freaking engine non stop. She is the most clingy cat I have ever seen. LOL She even approach guests and smell them. She never hides and will seat next to us while we have conversation with our guests in the living. She is very human like.
I have 2 ragdolls one really hates to cuddle but loves to lie next to me to get petted... The other one doesn't mind but only for a while. He's quite independent. One advice: cats don't like to be held like babies. They would like those cuddles better if you were holding them with one hand at their bottom and one at their front legs. That way they would be straight in your arms and have a better balance. They are adorable 🥰😸🥰
That's true. I always hold cats upright - one hand underneath their chest, another underneath their legs or butt, so it's like they're perching on my arms instead. Tried that with my skittiest cat, and she tolerates it enough to purr for 10 seconds straight. My ragamuffin/persian mix loves to be carried, and will snout bump my chin every few seconds.

It has nothing to do with affection. He or she probably loves being petted and groomed and play. it's the way they are held he doesn't like. cats feel vulnerable with their belly up/exposed. If you hold cats upright they will be much more patient. it's simple body language that is not understood most times. :)
I remember when i had a ragdoll kitty - he loooved to be held. He was the Baby. He could be held all day and he would be happy. He was so cuddly and loved to sleep with my sister.
I have a ragdoll cat too ❤️ she only likes being picked up and cuddled when she is in the right mood for it, but she patiently endures it for the first few seconds. I think Ragdolls have that in common 😍
저희 고양이도 렉돌믹스로 어느세 5년간 함께하고 있습니다. 확실히 다른 고양이들보다 사람과의 접촉에 친밀감을 느끼는 부분이 큰듯 해요. 하지만 영상에서처럼 배가 위로 향하게 말려 안으면 금방 빠져나오더라구요. 그래서 가슴을 받혀서 배가 아래로 향하게 팔짱끼듯 안아 보았는데 골골송부르며 잘 안겨있습니다. 사람도 취향이 있듯이 여러 자세로 안아보시며 각자의 편한 자세를 알아가는 것도 좋을 것 같습니다 :)
So the truth is ➡️ most of the Ragdolls in Hazel's house don't like to be cuddled! 😅 In fact Nanna's front feet oredi prepared to push Hazel away right from the start! 😂 Does scene like 4:10 - 5:00 happened often in the house? Cos it was like...WOW 😮 ~an AMAZING cat chasing/playing show! 😁
