I'd love to think that what keeps the spark in our relationship is the fact that we are constantly talking to each other. In the beginning of the relationship,we realized how we could wake up an hour or two before the alarm when either of us lost sleep and since we're both light sleepers,we just start talking about anything and it moves from udaku and hot mucéne 🔥😅 to plans about how we'd like our future to be. At some point,we kind of lost that and found that we'd argue and fight alot. Sometimes even,as soon as one woke up, they'd go to another room and just watch something by themselves. It took almost a bad breakup to realize where we went wrong and we slowly got back to intentionally Talking,appreciating and understanding one another to get us back to that 'honeymoon'phase. And now life together is better than ever. So definitely talking, whether on phone,texts or in person ❤️❤️And I'm blessed because it's never a dull moment with him 😊

My husband and I have regular 'review' sessions where we ask each other questions like 'Have I been a good partner to you this week?', 'Is there an area you think I can grow in?', 'How can I love you better in this season' etc... Such conversations keep the spark alive for us.
Interesting how we have this version of love and relationships existing but what's getting more latitude is the "negative" aspect... And you can read genuineness in between their conversations.

Hey Wanjiru & Ben. After 7 years in our relationship, we ensure that we keep the spark alive by doing things that your partner loves that you might not necessarily enjoy and doing this genuinely. It doesn't cost me anything to participate in what he loves. The fact that we put in the effort to be present in what we both love brings us joy and keeps the spark ignited. I don't have to love what you love, but because you want me there I will be present and I will fully immerse myself in the experience. This has really kept things alive for us because we are not closed off to what each of us wants.

What i and the mandem do to keep our relationship alive is definitely trying new activities i.e games, new cuisines and restaurants,travelling and the new goal is to finally move in. What we do to ensure the spark is still there is understanding that whatever we go through individually affects the both us, so as much as it is hard ,we address all issues, call each other out (respectfully) at any given time and commit to change whole heartedly. He eliminated the idea of I and introduced a 'we' notion which creates unity in all aspects, emotionally, psychologically and even financially (budgeting together). I'd say its a working progress and i love it.
What I do to ensure the spark is there ,is work on myself and also make sure am pulling for the best of the relationship also being intentional in the little things like just celebrating a win even if its a small one.
