Hi Jalyn, I hope you and your studio are doing well. I’m sorry to inform you that my instructor died about 3 weeks ago, Mr. Hoffman was 70. As I continue to watch your videos, your teaching style was similar to his, he would be very proud of you. Please don’t ever stop producing them, thank you and all the best to you. Dan 🙏
Thank you so much!. I hated doing the DoSan pattern before watching you do it bc of all the awkward moments but you cleared ALL OF THEM up, it makes so much more sense now. Do San is super Kool now!!! Thank you!
Jalyn Croft Rangel It really did. My 7 year old daughter and I are training together. Having a great time with it. I wish you and your company the best of luck.
Id like to see more explanation of the stances and strikes. Ie you say strike or punch but is it a high straight punch or mid? Is the knife hand strike done in a horse/sitting or L etc
Nice balance and form with your do San martial arts form jalyn. I want to ask you how many fighting styles do you know in martial arts and what Dan and rank you in those martial arts? My second question is in your martial arts training or sparring do you prefer striking your opponent with a punch with your fist or striking your opponent with a kick using your feet for combat or do you prefer to balance the two depending on the opponent or person you are training with?🥋
Thank you. I’m a black belt in Taekwondo. I recently started training Jiu-Jitsu but am only about 6 months in so I’m still a white belt. I think kicking and punching are equally important in sparring. I enjoy both!
As someone switching from Olympic style to sport taekwondo, this form is completely different to taeguk sahm yang. Thank you for explaining the video very well. I am a 3rd Dan for Olympic style, but my new school wants me to test for my first degree there. Kinda sucks i have to start over
Yeah they are pretty different. I’ve learned both styles of forms but didn’t keep up with practicing Olympic style. I switched schools right after getting my black belt and had to pretty much start over. It really sucks and I was very close minded about it for a couple of years. I ended up liking the new school’s forms better though and wish I hadn’t wasted time being upset about it. I hope everything goes smoothly for you.
Another video in the series and another thumbs up. I'm sharing a full extensive stretching routine with lots of tips along the way on Sunday... basically what I've done to reach the splits. :) Hope you enjoy it and find it useful if you get to watch it. I like that you chose to record outside in the sun this time around btw :)
It's lengthy but good one (have yet to edit it, but I will keep it long, as it offers a full routine - as well a lot of information), so it's something you can watch while training, either doing the stretches or possibly running or some other form of training which does not require too much concentration from listening, or you can watch the video the regular old fashioned way :) But if you end up only listening cuz you're busy, just remember to keep the window in the forefront :)
Do San is the pseudonym for the patriot Ahn Chango-Ho (1876 to 1938). The 24 movements in this pattern represent his entire life, which he devoted to furthering the education of Korea and it’s independence movement.
Hi, I know you probably won't reply to this because this video was a long time ago but do you by any chance know what the pattern diagram means? I can't seem to find it on the internet and it is on my black belt test so I need to know what it is. If you could answer, that would be great. Thanks and have a good day!
