Go ask this question from a grandma, only she'll tell you about how she got an arranged marriage, otherwise all the citizens who were born after at least 1950 in Sri Lanka, probably had a love marriage. We're not Indians, lol😂
As far as I know there are no arranged marriages in Sri Lanka. There are proposals where parents play the role of a match maker. (Even back in the day) They don’t decide for you like they do in India or Pakistan. I don’t think it’s the correct term to use in Sri Lanka.
Marriages Are Depends On The Religion... But Most Of The Muslim Marriages Are Arrange Marriage... I Think Other Cast People Might Go With Love Marriage....
that's true, nowadays everyone does love marriage, most parents encourage us to have a love life in uni even though they have still banned dating till we're 18. That is ofc to protect us until we're mature enough to make a decision on our own. That's why I think we have the best system.
Most of people do love marriage . But if girl lost virginity marriage and bf gave up then onwards girl consider as prostitute . Then all male use girl as a escort .
As a Sri Lankan Buddhist I can say that this question is irrelevant, I'm 20 years of age, my parents and also my grandparents had love marriages, talking about younger generation most of them prefer living together before marriage or else not get married at all. arrange marriages are not in our culture as Indian culture. so its not a new way of thinking to consider love marriage its actually considered old way of thinking amongst the youth
Living together is not common in Sri Lanka. I'm also studying in a government university, and in my 20s, there are no couples that I know who live together before marriage.
How stupid to ask personnal and private questions about mariages. It is one’s own wish as to whom they want to marry. Ofcourse there is reservations depending on their parents their parents.
Actually, you're misunderstanding these ppl. They are trying to say that the majority of Sri Lankans are Buddhists by religion. and it is in fact true bc more than 70% of Sri Lankans are Buddhists, but we always go as we have only one race that is Sri Lankan.
@@TheBasedDude They are called that but what I've heard from my neighbors and my dad's friends is that they aren't actually Muslim and that they don't follow the actual Islam religion instead they follow a different evil one. Because Islam promotes nonviolence. That's what I heard and I believe that they're telling the truth bc my neighbours are very nice to us and other ppl.
