You mostly interviewed a bunch of Sri Lankan idiots unable to effectively articulate Sri Lanka views ! As an ordinary Sinhalese Buddhist Sri Lankan, I know that we Sri Lankans Love and Respect India. We consider Indians to be our closest relatives: cousins, brothers and sisters! We have a shared history spanning 3,000 years and have similar cultures and religions! Most of that time we have been friendly and cooperative neighbouring nations, except for a short period when the Northern part of Sri Lanka was invaded and occupied by Chola Tamils from India. Most Sri Lankans are Buddhists and revere India as the land that produced the Lord Gautama Buddha. Historically, Dambadiva is the primary foreign land that we visit on Buddhist pilgrimages. Sinhalese Buddhists, such as Anagarika Dharmapala, and the Maha Bodhi Society that he founded, has been central to the restoration of Buddhist sites in India. Our Sinhala people originated on the East Coast of India in West Bengal and Orissa, although a smaller group came from the West Coast Maharashtra and Gujarat as well. Our food is primarily vegetarian and fish based, and is similar to Kerala food (Rice and Dhal, Indiappam, Dosa, Idli) and to some North Indian foods (Biryani, Murgh Masala, Matar Paneer, Naan, etc), but has strong connection to South East Asian cuisines as well. On average our food is quite spicy ! Our Sinhala Lanuage is derived from Prakrit based Sanskrit and Pali Indian Lanuages, but has developed some differences because of physical separation from India over thousands of years. Most Sinhala speakers can easily understand Hindi and other related Indo-European Lanuages because of their common roots. When the Mauryan and Gupta civilizations of India went into decline because of destructive foreign invasions, the great Buddhist and Hindu civilizations went into decline. But the memory of those civilizations was preserved in Sri Lankan Historical Chronicles like the Mahavamsa, Dipavamsa, Chulawamsa, etc. The rediscovery of India's hallowed history was aided by these Sri Lankan texts, written and maintained by Sri Lankan Buddhist monks. In particular, the memory of Emperor Ashoka the Great, who unified India under one flag, was a great friend of Sri Lanka's King Devanam Piya Tissa. Emperor Ashoka sent his son Mahinda and Daughter Sangamitta as Buddhist missionaries to Sri Lanka at King Devanam Piya Tissa's request. Since that day, Sri Lanka remains a Buddhist majority country. We are eternally grateful to Dharmashoka for the greatest gift of Buddhism to Sri Lanka. If not for the Mahavansa Chronicle of Sri Lanka, the State Emblem of India today would not be the Lion Capitol of Ashoka! I admire and respect India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and support his vision and drive to restore the Hindu majority of India to its rightful place at the helm of Bharat, and in peace and harmony, his drive to make India the Greatest Nation in the World ! We Sri Lankans and Indians are KINDRED PEOPLES bound forever by unbreakable historical, cultural and ethnic bonds, and we will not allow those ties to be split asunder! Pakistan is not part of Republic of India, Pakistan just as Modern Bharat were both part of British India, because Pakistan is India and India is Pakistan!!! (Or Little INDIA)
