I'm trully surprised by they not recognising the Sonic theme...untill I realised this guys were not ever born when I was playing my MegaDrive...(or Sega Genesis for those in USA and Canada)
+EpicLameGamer 8/10 Sounds about right. Even some who never played a Zelda game had heard the theme from somewhere. Its very rare to get an icon on the level of Mario.
+EpicLameGamer Hey, almost everyone there knew it and all knew the game. Too be fair, it sounded too artifical compared with the actual theme to be recognized inmediatly.

Harjot Singh I've got the same thing. No matter how much I'd love to play these games, I can't really. So I found my answer in Let's Plays. That way I at least experienced the story and music of these amazing games. :3 (Even though I don't really watch the really old games. I respect them though. They are what started it after all).

I'm probably the same age as these kids, give or take a couple years, and I knew them all apart from NBA JAM, (couldn't care less for sports or sports games).
SAO (Sword Art Online), Tokyo Ghoul, AOT (Attack On Titan), Dog and Scissors, Noragami, Future Diary! btw for the teens they'll get it straight away so kids or elders.
+Warriors/Broncos FT W I still don't get the appeal to playing a video game when you could go out and play basketball yourself. I mean, I don't like football at all but given a choice between playing it for real or on a video game? Yeaaah sign me up for real football (and I mean American football)

nope. i knew it immediately too. but i still play them very often. the last time was like a few months ago. i even got a snes with some games. but i dont have donkey kong yet so i play that one on an emulator.
I kinda think Sonic was at a disadvantage because not only is his theme song short but his Green Hill Zone tune is more iconic and recognized than the theme song

What about Megaman, Pacman, Frogger, Tetris, Street Fighter, Outrun, After Burner, Space Harrier, Blaster Master, Altered Beast, etc.? Also, I'm confused how they didn't get the Donkey Kong Country and Sonic theme. They are simply classics (at least for me)
I was held to the screen anticipating those first three notes of Banjo-Kazooie! ...but I guess they were sticking to SNES and NES. You two should definitely make a follow-up to this with fifth generation consoles!

Sonic WAS a classic, most teenagers don't play sonic anymore, I mean Sega's console started dying out when we were babies, and they don't reuse the theme as often as say Mario or Zelda, so I can see why it'd be hard to recognize
