Nice one mate. I too, have cheap recovery boards and they have saved my rig from being bogged on numerous occasions. Goes to prove you don’t have to spend heaps just to go and enjoy things you love doing, and your vid proved it 👍🏼👍🏼

Great job Kurt hard yaka but worth it for that beautiful spot, plus you had a great cheer support. I think the less expensive versions tracks are just as good. Happy travels :)

Thanks Craig! It was one of best camps we've stayed at! It's about time somebody else competed in price with the tracks.

18psi is not enough especially when you're dragging a van straight to 15 then go lower if needed you can go to ten with no fear of losing a bead as long as you aren't making hard turns at speed or getting sideways.

Always buy the brightly coloured ones, they are much easier to find in the mud.

Looks like the straps on the recovery tracks are essential. I can imagine how easily they would disappear without them.

Meant to ask if you guys secure your van with a big ass wheel chain or something when you leave it and go off tripping, have you ever had anything knocked off??
@Sparkysontheloose
@Sparkysontheloose 6 лет назад
It seems the longer we are on the road the less me lock things up. The more you get away from the cities the safer it has been. If we are ever sus about a camp we have a chain around a wheel and a hitch lock. We used to rope lock the chairs when we first set off but haven't done that in a long time. We haven't had anything knocked off.

Sparky's on the loose yeh that makes sense, more of a chance getting something knocked off in more populated areas. Happy travels 😊

how much do you usually spend on fuel a week i could see it being high with diesel at $1.60 and how much did the caravan cost
@Sparkysontheloose
@Sparkysontheloose 6 лет назад
Tough question on the fuel as some weeks are more and some are less. We would say around $150-200. Caravan from a dealership was $27,000.

Have you thought about buying more boards and doing less digging?

Tempting but we don't use them a lot and we have limited space and weight.

Did ok, but 2 things wrong, 18psi, no, should be down to at least 12psi on the car and van and next a better 4X4, no it's ok but a better 4WD is always good if you can afford it.
@Sparkysontheloose
@Sparkysontheloose 5 лет назад
If i went down to 12PSI then then i wouldve rolled off the bead and be in even more trouble. The Nav is a very capable 4x4, in this situation any vehicle towing up that hill would struggle. But then again not many people would bother with this setup to even attempt it.
@cullengarrick9036
@cullengarrick9036 4 года назад
12psi you would be fine your not gonna roll it off the bead at 15psi I've struggled in sand and at 10psi walked up the section of sand no drama and at 10psi I'll limiter bash it over rough sand no issues with beads coming off
