Do The Pastors Wife Belong to The Church? 

You're on point. Currently a pastor's wife. Been in the position for about 46 years. I've always honored and respected my husband in front of the members and at home. My main concern has always been to see after him, spiritually and physically. I am able to see things within the congregation that at times he's not able to see. In a gentle way I'll suggest to him what I see and what I sense in the spirit. I have made it a point not to embarrass him in or outside of the church. When you see him, you see me. I've always believed in making our home a place of rest and peace. He needs that. Mind you I have worked in the church as the women's bible teacher. Questions that may come up or anything about the church I direct them to the pastor and deacons. Being the pastor's wife is not an easy position. Thankful in my younger years I had a great mentor and also a great mother who taught me by example of how to take care of home. God first, then home. That's my priority.

That's why I don't hug ladies in the church as a married man. If a hand shake isn't good enough, I'll just keep it moving. I know how things can go left quick, and there's just too much temptation, so I do as the scriptures say to do; avoid it! RUUUUUN FOREST!🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

I was a member of a church with a beloved pastor and a very unhappy disturbed wife who tore up the church. Also we should be transformed by the renewing of the mind. A new thing, renewed appetites, not conforming to the worldly lusts. A new thing🙏🏾

The “first lady” belongs to the pastor and should keep quiet. Most sane pastor’s wives don’t want the limelight and the outrageous expectations.

Sure, the pastor's wife must comport herself with decorum --- with a demeanor which befits the wife of the pastor, the shepherd of the flock. However, she is not 'Second in Command'! I believe a pastor who wants his wife to be 'elevated' by the fact that she is his wife, is seeking to create a dynasty of his own. He usually also gives leadership positions to his children and grooms his son to 'take over' after his demise, thereby writing his family name in perpetuity within that church! That is unbiblical and his attempt to usurp God's position. SWJ, your brother Rodney knows the truth! Thanks for this one, delivered with truth and humor!

This is insightful!! I think we dehumanize pastors too much. This allows us a women too see that we need to be able to wear many hats for the men we marry 😊! Especially if they are in the church. Also, we(the black church) are always trying to give people titles! The woman who is married to the pastor is is the PASTOR’s WIFE!!

A friend of mine stopped attending a neighborhood church because they took up a separate offering for the First Lady every Sunday (or every month, IDK). Mind you, she held no position nor did she work in the church. She did sing in the choir though. My friend was really put off by this and asked me what I thought. I told her I had never heard of that before and that I would think that whatever they were paying the Pastor should cover him and and family. She eventually stopped going to this church.

All these women got husband's that's cheating on them because she doesn't know how to be his help fitness in the secret place. God is going to build his church and the pastors and gates of first ladies shall not prevail against it. Pray and ask God to give you a compassion for the lost. This first lady mess is so sad.
