One more tip on the way: Never visualize in a negative way, like: "The cue ball better doesn't drop into the pocket." Once you are seeing the image of the cue ball droping, you are more likely to do exactly that. And the reason behind this is, that our brian does not understand the "don't." It's just able to see the image of the cue ball dropping. So next time, think and visualize in a positive way: "The cue ball will hit the rail next to the pocket".

I used to ride a sports bike and the same concept goes, “don’t look where you don’t want to go!” (When cornering a lot of guys look..ohh crap I don’t want to go that way, instead of focusing what they want to go... and where do you think they end up!? Yes in a ditch or worse lol). Very excellent point Sharivari , like all sports..pool is very mental.

This such an important part to playing pool. I often visualize different shoots as I drive to the pool halls for league night. It’s like warming up the brain. Great video!

Great video, but especially the editing is great with the little graphics you put on the table. You put a lot of work into the editing, time stamps, cue ball graphics etc, and it shows.

This needs to be a series. As a student who is just past basic concepts videos, this is the exact kind of information I need. It teaches you how a pro thinks while playing, it teaches you how to see different options, and the thing I need at this point is more videos of pros talking through their decision process thank you I could watch so many of these videos if it becomes a series

This is literally one of the most important videos that any aspiring pool player should see and incorporate into their daily practice. The process of analysis (which includes visualization and various calculations), prediction, and comparison, along with high amounts of daily repetition, is fundamental to developing the brain's neural networks for ALL types of skill development. This is literally "how the brain grows", and by grows, I mean how the brain develops the neural networks of skill so they become automatic and precise. Another key, which I think you should mention, is the importance of taking videos of your play, so you can see shots you messed up, or did amazingly correct, and practice on repeating those shots. Finally, I'm curious if there are other sources that inspired you on this process of skill development.

@Sharivari you have really invested in the media equipment, impressive video resolution and also the way you put in graphics helps us visualize how and where exactly you hit the cue ball. Most instructors say "hit like this " but on video we can't even see which point on the cue is being hit . Keep the good work up .

So much of what is an excellent video also speaks to being sure to stay down and follow through with the cue on the shot in order to get proper spin. You always impress me with your ability in this area of your game. I am bringing up your name to players local to my area that I know could benefit from watching your videos. Usually they have never heard of "Sharivari" but I see them keying it into their phones so am pleased to see you've added thousands more subscribers in the last couple of months with my adding hopefully a couple of them.

@@Sharivari you are teaching about visualization and mind state, very effectively. Anyone complaining about it is definitely missing the point. It was really helpful to be reminded to always visualize the cue ball path. I realized that’s one area I’ve been lacking. Also helpful to know the brain works with images not words.

I've been playing for 47 years; and I discovered early on that I could not shoot worth a damn if I could not 'see' my lines. In the heyday of my competition phase, I was a top-tier player in 8-ball and 9-ball; however, after about 18 years of that, I began studying and playing 3-cushion - and that's where I began to really learn about the physics of billiards, especially how it relates to caroms and tangent lines. That is a skill I see sorely lacking in many barroom players today, and have seen many games lost because the player couldn't 'see' all the possibilities on the table.
