Super tutorial Glyn, I often do some portraits of people with very dark eyes and if I use the "selective colour correction" system, even if I work on neutrals, it comes out a bit more distorted. With this method, however, you accentuate the eye without distorting it! I use it often. As always... Thanks Mr.Dewis.

Hi Glyn tks for the zoom technique to add fake eye clarity. Kindly tell me is there any way to identify which brush we have selected in the brush thumbnail list.
@glyndewis
@glyndewis 2 года назад
Thank you. Ok, one way to know the name of the brush you have selected is to click the + icon to create a brush preset. When you do that, the name appears. You can then just click cancel. You'll find the + icon in the Brush Picker on the far right (upper) OR in the tool preset picker; both of these are in the options bar at the top of the screen when using brushes. Hope that helps.

Do you know if it works as well after you use the move eyes feature in the portrait module in the neural filters?
@glyndewis
@glyndewis 2 года назад
Great question Rob and yes I have used it for exactly that. I’ve found ‘sometimes’ the neural filter can do a great job changing the direction of eyes but can leave them looking smooth / blurred. This technique definitely helps. 👍🏻

@glyndewis
@glyndewis 2 года назад
It's not a stupid question at all; I like what you're thinking. The only problem is that the eye detail texture requires the varying shades from black thru grey and then to white as the noise produces, but making a brush in Photoshop disregards the white. Thinking about though, having made it once as in the video, you could then simply drag the folder containing it all into the Creative Cloud Library and then simply drag it out onto an image you want to use it and quickly brush areas away adding a layer mask. Hmmm...might start doing that now :)

This is awesome! However, I would prefer to not use the term "fake". Photoshop already has a bad rap from non photographers about faking things. To me, this is using great technical skills to get the eyes back to the way they should look. Side note, I always know I've taken a great photograph when non photographers say, "did you fake that"? Haha 😅
