We post daily shorts for over a month now and constantly try to better our content. We had 2 or 3 "viral" shorts on our english and german channel that had a few thousand views, but mostly all of the other videos are getting ZERO views. Why is that? I find it so hard to know which words trigger a shadow ban (for that specific video). It seems like there are more extreme videos than mine - in terms of topic or swearing. I talk about ADHD and therefore also mention drugs for example in relation to Ritalin. But they way how some of my videos get caps on views or even get shadow banned are super random... some videos I'd expect to get restricted stay, and other very harmless videos are cut. I try to use as little hashtags that could be banned as possible. Should I avoid hashtags all together? I once accidentally posted one without any hashtags and it immediately got more views than usual (very confused I be). For clarification: I'm not saying my account is shadow banned, it's certain videos that are only shown to my friends and then have 2-5 views rather than the usual 700-1000 views my other videos get.

I was stuck on that 200 view grind. Took a bit of a break to schedule myself on a more realistic streaming and editing schedule and as I returned i would get 1 to 4 views if that. Most of the time it had been a friend who saw and liked it. I'm still stuck on it and struggling to get myself back out there. I have no violations either.

"Post time doesn't matter" might be right for you. But it's the exact oposite for my niche. Peeps in that niche only really seem active over the weekends, so during the week basically all posts perform poorly while on weekends I get a massive boost. I think this makes sense because if mostly none of my target audience is online, the 200 views trial is performed on not that fitting people who will poorly engage with these vids, so the algorithm gets the false impression of a bad performing video.

It’s pretty typical for videos to get a slight boost in views on the weekend when people are sitting around scrolling on TikTok instead of being at work. But that doesn’t mean that 200 views is normal during the week. If fewer people swiped past the video and it got more watch time it would get more views.

as an account with 330k+ and hit the algorithm 20 times hitting over millions of views. the part when you said "go back to the winning formula" I'd like to mention to the people struggling (like i did starting) learn it, study it, listen to the tone in your voice, the layout of the video, the captions should match the hashtags and what your saying in the video. 98% of a weak video is because the person gets lazy, it has to be like a puzzle. even down to length in video based on your topics. another fantastic video, keep up the great work! 🎉 -Jesse Speaks (on tiktok 💕)

I make marching band content. It’s very niche, but there are marching band accounts with very large followings. I just need the algorithm to push the stuff out to the right people so my watch time and watched video percentage aren’t trash. I’ve plateaued at 13,000 followers and about 1,000-5,000 views per video for a few months now and it’s very frustrating. I used to have videos about once a month that would skyrocket over 100,000 views, and I would gain 500-1,000 followers a month.

Optimize your feed and your profile. Sometimes we have to retweet that feed. And then just make sure your content is dialed in. If you’ve had that much success you probably are being shown to the right people your videos just aren’t hitting as well as they used too. Go back and study those successful videos. Remake them, make more in those topics or using those hooks and formats.

Hi Mike! The past year, I was consistently growing by posting one video per week. When I reached 624 thousand followers about four months ago, I suddenly stopped growing. From an average of 160 thousand views and once in a while a viral video, I now only have around 30 thousand. Do I have a shadow ban? Did the algorithm change? There’s just more competition in the marketplace which means fewer views unless you up your game. You’re also doing yourself a disservice by posting once per week instead of daily which is the norm on TikTok.

Would it be possible to see different retention graphs for different video lengths and views amount? Would be really cool to see, for example, what the retention graph of a 50k video that's 10s long like. Could allow us to compare with our content and see where to improve and what's good already. That’s not a myth. Until about 2 weeks ago you could reupload videos and it was a growth strategy I talked about all the time. But you can’t do it anymore after a change they made about two weeks ago. Instead make new versions of your best videos.

I mean, that’s what I’m talking about in almost every video. You need a hook, headline, and the goal is to stop people swiping past your videos and swiping off them before they watch the entire video. It IS much harder to go viral with longer videos and there’s no magic trick. It takes practice and you just have to improve slightly each video.

I just found you and I like your videos, thanks. Should I use a commercial account or regular one? I heard with the commercial one you might not use some sounds that are trending, but in the regular one you can’t see the statistics. Am I wrong? Use the creator account. You can turn analytics on in settings once you post your first video.

I have one more question. If my content is based off of youtube clips with part 1, part 2. Will I be rejected once I apply for the program? they say “original content” and screen recording youtube clips may not be considered “original”. Not sure though. Thanks

So here's my situation: I got an account made in a Creative Program Beta, so I use it in my non creavtive country. I made content on that account in english for the english viewers of course. THat includes english captions, english hashtags, but tiktok keeps showing the content to my own country, of course the engagement is low... What can I do about this? I work really hard on these edits... Thank you

Really wish you would make a video for Musicians on TikTok. I think a musician trying to get views for their own songs is quite different than pushing a product or dancing.

It’s just not my specialty. I have a decade of experience working with coaches and course creators helping them grow their audience and scale their businesses to 7 figures. I don’t work with a ton of musicians and I’m not going to post videos about things I don’t know about. Wouldn’t be right.

@@MikeYanda totally understand, it would be really cool to be able to have a video for something like that. I believe you could branch out and get a lot of views on it. Especially knowing all the influencers are doing this for music, artists, playing their songs, etc. and triggering the algorithm.

my first few posts on tiktok were on random different topics because i didnt realise the importance of having a niche. now i have started posting content consistently on one type of topic however my views consistently range from 300-400 (average watch-time 4-7 seconds, watched fullvid 25-45%). do you think its worth starting a new account and post one type of content from the start so that the tiktok algorithm understands my target audience. or should i keep my current account and keep posting on there?

It depends. The algo learns quickly so you can “retrain” it so to speak by being consistent for a period of time. If you already have a decent number of followers than stick it out. But if you don’t have many yet it might be nice to start fresh. But… keep in mind that a new account won’t magically get you views. 25-45% avg view duration isn’t that high and would make sense for 300-400 views. So whatever you do the main focus should be stopping the scroll and hooking the viewer. With all that said, a fresh start may be the way to go if you aren’t already close to 1k followers. At least with a new account you eliminate the thought in the back of your mind “is it just because it’s an old account I don’t treat right originally”. You know it’s new and if the views are low the only reason is that you need to improve. I think I would prefer that clarity personally.

Did you take a long break? That definitely hurts views. Could also just be that people aren’t into that anymore. Trends and preferences have changed a ton in the last year.

Hi mate, I don't know if you have the answer to this question, but you might do. Whenever I upload from my PC from Chrome, my views are so less but when I upload from mobile its higher views. I use chrome so I can schedule my videos. Makes like easy but when I dont his views are far less than mobile?

Great video. I do have a couple of questions, if we add caption on an app like CapCut will that negatively affect your TikTok views? Or is it better to edit and add captions and text on TikTok itself? Also, where is a good place to find keywords to use on your description?

It shouldn’t matter too much, but the algorithm does get more data if you do it in app. Auto captions are great for this. Check out last week’s video for some info about finding keywords and searchable topics.

I very rarely use AI tools. I think they’re overhyped right now. I see the potential but they aren’t to a point yet where I’ve found them to be overly useful or time saving.

I guess my content just sucks lol. Pretty new at this. Stuck in a 80 view jail right now. Tried a lot of the tips I learned from your videos. Using countik for hashtags, keywords in description and wording on page, relevant hashtags, short videos. It still says find related content above the video though, so I'm confused. Also, some of videos actually do have different classifications above them. Is that a bad thing? For instance: one was decor, one was anime or anime decor, the other was potions. Those videos had 700ish views. Then it dropped off though.

Hello Mike, my videos were getting 600 to 900 views but now am only getting 200 views and I noticed the videos with 700 views have the auto captions feature activated automatically from TikTok but the videos with 200 views doesn't have that feature activated. You can start posting right away. How long it takes to learn varies based on how frequently you post, how consistent you are with your topic, and how lucky you get with your sample audiences or having a winning video early.

Hi, I hope you will answer. I am creating content for my country, Georgia🇬🇪 and the content is in Georgian. I put georgian hashtags and texts and everything is in Georgian, but at first my videos are shown to Checzh audience (idk why). I dont do anything that could be connected to chezch audience. Like, at first 60-70% of viewers are chezch people. What can be a reason? Or how can I fix this? I’ve been searching for solutions for so long already! Thanks in advance!
