You're ridiculously charming at times... ;-) Why do so many chess plying RU-vidrs chat so much at the beginning of a game and then let themselves get into time trouble?

Because it creates more views, maybe... If two people playing without talking you could also read a chess book instead and without time trouble even the talking might become a bit boring after some time. The short time ensures that more action is generated later in the video and that keeps people watching even if they are not top chess players and are interested mainly in the position. At least, it is not tiktok video which has to last only few seconds.
