Do Travel Vac Bags Crease Your Clothes? 

My personal way to keep creasing to a minimum: 1. Iron anything that needs to be ironed. 2. Let it cool! Use this time to pack any shoes & other heavy objects at the bottom of the luggage (make sure it really is the bottom, I had to repack my entire suitcase in August because I packed everything the wrong way round) 3. Fold items like you would for putting them into the wardrobe/dresser (also fold in the sides of dresses & skirts to make sure you have a somewhat even rectangle). 4. Now roll each item tightly (or as tightly as you can without damaging it). 5. Pack into the luggage item of choice immediately. 6. Make sure everything is packed really tightly, so it can't move around much. (I use underwear and socks to stuff empty spaces and if that's not enough, whatever can bear a few creases, usually a light scarf) 7. Put on everything else that needs to go in, toiletry bag, jewellery cases, hair accessories, conference papers etc. 8. Force the luggage closed. I do this every year when I have to pack a week's worth of business/classy clothes for a conference/summer workshop I attend via my university, and after 8 hours of travel (20 minutes by bus, 7 hours by train with 2 layovers, another 30-60 minutes by car, with the expect-able jostling) my clothes are no more or only marginally more creased than when I packed them. Now, it should work for a dress shirt as well but I haven't actually tried that because I'm not wearing my long-sleeved dress shirt in August when it's 25+°C outside.

If you have a very hot bath/shower you can leave clothes in the bathroom and it will take some of the creases out, especially in linen!
